Chereads / Campus of Desires / Chapter 2 - New start

Chapter 2 - New start

Ryan walked through the corridors of the university with a newfound sense of curiosity, his steps steady but his mind racing. Today, he felt different, almost lighter, as he thought about the Club of Desires. It wasn't just another place on campus; it was a doorway to something… more.

But just as he reached the entrance, he collided with someone walking out. Her belongings scattered, and Ryan instantly dropped down to help pick them up.

"Oh! I'm so sorry!" he muttered, glancing up at the girl he'd bumped into. His heart froze when he realized who it was.

"Ryan?" Lila's voice was a mix of surprise and something warmer, an echo of memories they once shared.

The shock was doubled when he glanced down at the item he'd picked up. It was a glossy magazine, the kind he'd only ever seen in private. The cover was unmistakable: a mature magazine, bold and provocative.

Ryan's face flushed as he handed it to her, trying to avert his gaze. "Uh…here. Sorry about that."

Lila took the magazine without a hint of embarrassment, her expression unreadable. "Ryan, wait. We need to talk."

"Talk?" he repeated, his voice a bit sharper than he intended. The hurt from their past encounter resurfaced. "About what, Lila? About you cheating on me?"

She let out a soft sigh, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Yes, Ryan. I did cheat on you. But it wasn't as simple as you think." Her tone was calm, even vulnerable. "I had desires, things I wanted to experience. Everyone has desires, Ryan. Sometimes, it's okay to pursue them."

Ryan shook his head, frustration simmering beneath the surface. "So that's your excuse? 'Desires'? And I'm just supposed to accept that?"

"Ryan," she said, her voice gentle but steady, "I still care about you. Love doesn't have to be limited to one definition. There's love, and then there's attraction… physical connection. But love is about more than that."

He frowned, trying to process her words. "So you're saying you want us to be together… but still be free to…?"

She nodded, her gaze meeting his without a hint of hesitation. "Yes. I want us to be open about it. If there's something you desire, you should be free to experience it, too."

He hesitated, the idea of this arrangement both shocking and strangely liberating. "So… we're still together. But we can… be with others?"

"As long as we're honest with each other," she replied, a small smile softening her expression. "No lies, no secrets."

Ryan glanced away, his mind spinning. He wasn't sure what to say or feel, but a part of him was curious. Maybe this new perspective could actually give him the freedom he'd never considered before.

"Alright," he said finally, his voice low but steady. "If that's what you want, then… we can try it. As long as we're honest."

She squeezed his shoulder gently. "Thank you, Ryan. I knew you'd understand." She gave him a quick smile before turning to leave, her footsteps fading down the hall.

Later that evening, back in his room, Ryan found himself replaying the conversation with Lila over and over. Her words had unlocked something inside him, some door he hadn't known was there. And with the Club of Desires now a part of his life, he felt like a different person, like he was beginning to understand things about himself that he'd kept buried.

Sinking into his chair, he opened his laptop, letting the screen glow fill the dark room. After a moment's hesitation, he clicked on a video site, something he hadn't done in a while. But this time, as he scrolled through the titles, his thoughts drifted—not to some random person on the screen, but to Jenna.

He imagined her, the way her teasing gaze had lingered on him, her bold smile. She was the kind of girl who had a magnetic pull, someone who could make anyone feel seen. And now, with Lila's words still echoing in his mind, he couldn't help but think… what if he could explore that side of himself with her?

As the video played, his mind replaced the actress with Jenna. He could almost see her, laughing, her eyes holding that same mischievous sparkle. He imagined her teasing him, challenging him in a way that only she could.

His thoughts grew more vivid, picturing her in moments that felt almost real. "You like what you see?" her voice echoed in his mind, sultry and teasing, just as it had been in the club. "Come on, don't be shy, Ryan."

He could almost hear his own reply, nervous but intrigued. "I… yeah, I do."

The imagined version of Jenna laughed softly. "Then don't just look. I thought you came here to learn."

The more he thought about it, the more he realized how much she intrigued him. Jenna wasn't just another girl; she was a door to something new, something exhilarating. He felt his face heat up at the thought, but there was no denying it. He wanted her, in a way he hadn't felt for anyone in a long time.
