The clash of energy filled the air, thunderous booms echoing across the land as Goku and Vegeta traded blows with Alp. Their attacks were relentless, but each strike seemed to do little more than amuse the dark warrior, who countered effortlessly, as if barely exerting himself.
"Is this all the mighty Saiyans have to offer?" Alp taunted, his voice dripping with contempt as he deflected Vegeta's punch and sent him flying with a backhanded strike.
Goku charged in, delivering a powerful Kamehameha blast aimed directly at Alp's chest. But Alp merely raised his hand, absorbing the attack into his own energy before firing it back, forcing Goku to dodge as the beam left a fiery scar across the landscape.
"This guy… he's unreal," Goku muttered, landing beside Vegeta, who was already getting back to his feet. They both were breathing heavily, sweat lining their brows, and it was clear that neither Ultra Instinct nor Ultra Ego was making an impact.
"This isn't working, Kakarot," Vegeta growled. "We're just burning energy, and he's only getting stronger."
"You're right," Goku replied, eyeing their opponent, who watched them with a smug grin. "But maybe Whis or even Beerus might have an idea. Let's regroup for now."
Before Alp could launch another attack, Goku and Vegeta used Instant Transmission to retreat, vanishing just as Alp's energy flared up, sending waves of darkness across the field where they had stood moments ago.
In an instant, they appeared at Beerus' planet, where Whis and the God of Destruction waited, observing them with an unreadable expression.
"Running away already, are we?" Beerus remarked, crossing his arms as he looked the two warriors up and down. "Hardly the Saiyan spirit."
"We're not running," Vegeta snapped, catching his breath. "We're strategizing."
Whis chuckled lightly, though his gaze was serious as he looked at Goku and Vegeta. "So you've encountered our uninvited guest, I see. Alp, the Dimensional Devourer."
Goku looked at Whis, puzzled. "You know about him?"
Whis nodded. "Alp is a being from a dimension far beyond our own—a place where power and existence function under different rules. He travels through worlds, absorbing the essence of the strongest beings he encounters to fuel his own power."
"And you didn't think to warn us?" Vegeta snapped, frustration clear in his voice.
"Consider this your lesson," Beerus said, his tone cold. "Not all threats can be faced with the forms you've grown comfortable with. You must push further if you hope to survive him."
"But how?" Goku asked, his determination clear. "Even Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego aren't enough."
Whis looked thoughtful. "There is one form… one that combines the essence of both Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego. A perfect harmony of calm awareness and fierce power, the ultimate balance between precision and strength. It's called Ultra Divinity."
"Ultra Divinity?" Goku repeated, eyes widening in awe. Vegeta's gaze sharpened as he realized the gravity of this new revelation.
Whis nodded. "But this form cannot be achieved through training alone. It requires a bond—an unspoken trust and understanding between the two of you. Only by working together, by understanding each other's strengths and weaknesses, can you unlock this form."
Vegeta clenched his fists. "Trust, huh? We've fought together countless times."
"True," Whis said with a smile, "but Ultra Divinity requires more than combat. It demands unity, a fusion of both your energies in perfect sync."
Goku looked over at Vegeta, a grin spreading across his face. "Guess we'll have to put our rivalry aside for this one, Vegeta."
Vegeta rolled his eyes. "Don't get too comfortable, Kakarot. I'm not here to be your friend. But if it's the only way to beat this guy, then I'll do what it takes."
"Good." Whis raised his staff, and the atmosphere around them shifted as the planet transformed into a vast field of empty space, an endless expanse where stars glittered above and below.
"Here, you'll train. The gravity, the elements, even time itself will be against you," Whis said. "Focus on merging your strengths, balancing Ultra Instinct with Ultra Ego. Only then can you hope to achieve Ultra Divinity."
And so, they began. The days blurred together as Goku and Vegeta trained, constantly pushing and testing each other. Every movement required precision, every punch a calculated strike, every defense a merging of instincts. There were times they failed, times when the energy clashed instead of blending, resulting in explosive blowbacks that knocked them both to the ground.
But slowly, bit by bit, they began to understand the balance Whis had spoken of. Goku tempered his lightheartedness with the fierce resolve of Ultra Ego, while Vegeta allowed himself to feel the calm and focus of Ultra Instinct.
After what felt like an eternity, they stood together, side by side, feeling the power pulse between them in perfect harmony. Their auras merged, forming a radiant, swirling energy—Goku's silver-blue merging with Vegeta's violet-gold.
"Ultra Divinity," Goku whispered, feeling the power course through him as if his very spirit had been elevated.
Vegeta looked at Goku, a rare, determined smile on his face. "Let's see how Alp fares against this."
As they turned, Whis and Beerus looked on, pleased.
"Good luck," Whis said, his voice filled with an unusual warmth. "Your true battle is about to begin."
And with a shared nod, Goku and Vegeta vanished, returning to Earth, ready to face the Dimensional Devourer once more, this time with a power that defied even his darkest ambitions.
