To be honest, even though the other world sounds impressive, let alone that there are many fox girls there, I still don't think I would be too tempted to go there. Right now, I still don't feel interested in starting a new adventure in a strange world.
My current world is already confusing enough, let alone if I have to get involved in something like the multiverse or similar things, it would definitely be very troublesome.
"I don't think so, I'm not going to that strange world, even if it has a fox girl in it," I said firmly, although there was a slight sense of regret about the last part that mentioned the fox girl.
"Are you sure? There are a lot of fox girls there," she said, seemingly teasing me again.
Is there some kind of surrender button here? After all, I don't know if I'll be able to hold out if I'm constantly being teased like this.
"No, I'm serious about it," I said, trying to look uninterested.
"Hm... I see, fine, I'll give in this time, but you must remember that I'll be back again to collect on this contract! I will continue to haunt you!"
Is this girl crazy?
She clearly self-proclaimed that she would start stalking me at this time?
"Listen water faucet goddess, no matter how much temptation or rewards you will give, I will never trade my life to save people I don't even know at all, let alone it's a foreign world"
"We'll see, I'll also wipe out your arrogance human!" she said with annoyance.
I think this girl was quite annoyed when I called her a faucet goddess.
"So, what are your plans now? Stalking me while wailing that you failed to persuade me?" I asked as I looked at her suspiciously.
I wonder if I can ask Origami to get rid of this stupid goddess? I didn't think the girl would refuse my request anyway, especially when I considered her obsession with me.
She crossed her arms over her chest and smiled haughtily.
"There's no need to lament. I'm an immortal being, remember? Time is my ally. You, on the other hand, are a mortal human who only has a little time before the end will only regret rejecting my offer." she said arrogantly.
I think this girl is completely out of line from the goddess figure that is always portrayed in the story, let alone her foolish nature.
But it also caught my attention, was this stupid goddess unaware of the power of the Spirit that enveloped me.
"Gosh, I'm really scared, is this a typical threat of a goddess to influence a fragile mortal like me?" I said flatly as I stared at her, wearing an unconcerned expression.
She stepped closer, standing close enough that I could see the strange glint in her eyes.
Seriously! I want to call Origami right now.
"Let's just say that right now I'm giving you a friendly warning. Someday, when you're feeling desperate and looking for a way out of all this..." She paused for a moment as she started pointing around me, as if to describe my mediocre life.
"You'll wish you could turn back time and accept my offer." she said.
Somehow I think this stupid goddess is quite narcissistic.
"And you wish I would have begged you back then?" I asked her.
"There's no need to beg," she said in a poisonously sweet tone.
"I'll just show up... and make you surrender without a fight."
"Good luck," I said as I turned round. "But don't blame me if you feel disappointed later. I'm pretty stubborn."
He didn't say anything else, but I could feel the piercing gaze of his eyes on my back. As I walked away, I heard a small voice behind me.
"We'll see about that arrogant human, watch as I continue to haunt your life! You heard that! I will haunt your life!" I lazily closed the door with a bang.
I thought she would give up in just a few days, after all I knew how lazy Aqua was when watching anime.
Besides, I thought I should meet Ako in the room.
Walking towards my room, I held my head looking tired, is there no rest for me? Moreover, it's almost 10pm.
I just want to rest.
It only took me less than a minute to reach my room, there I could see the slightly open door.
As I suspected, not only did Ako duplicate my house key, she had even duplicated my room key. I think I'll have to change the locks regularly in the future. After all, when I asked her into my room before, I didn't give her any keys.
Although I honestly wouldn't mind having a pretty girl like Ako wake me up in the morning, but I thought it best not to, after all I didn't know what would happen if it was Origami.
Putting my worries aside, I walked in to see Ako lying seemingly unprotected on my bed.
I think this girl is quite tired.
I moved closer to the bed, looking at Ako who was fast asleep. Her long black hair was flowing, her face looked peaceful. It was a beautiful sight that I rarely saw.
Although that doesn't mean I often see sleeping girls.
"Stupid girl, isn't she worried that I'll do something weird to her when she's asleep like this?" I muttered as I sat on the edge of the bed.
Well, although this girl is very pretty when she's asleep but that behaviour of duplicating keys should be eliminated, after all I don't have much money to keep replacing them with new ones.
I smiled faintly as I stood back up and grabbed the blanket, covering her body that was lying unprotected. As I did so, she shifted slightly, as if seeking a more comfortable position.
"I wish you sweet dreams, princess"
I walked over to the table, switching off the main light and leaving only a small table lamp. The atmosphere of the room became darker, enough to make me feel calmer even though my body still felt tired.
After making sure Ako was covered tightly with the blanket, I sat on a chair in the corner of the room, looking up at the ceiling as I began to fall asleep.
...
"Ahem! Introductions everyone, my name is Aqua, you can call me Aqua, but I remind you to maintain your manners in front of me, as a very beautiful, talented, and noble water goddess, you humans are very lucky to be in the same class as me!"
As everyone in the class fell silent, I could see the smug grin of the girl with the stupid smile in front of the class.
"As the supreme goddess of water, I can control the sea, calm storms, and even create torrential rain with just a touch. But don't worry, I'm not the arrogant type... although, if you were to look at me from any angle, you would know that I'm the most outstanding among all of you."
She glanced at the whole class with a bright smile that further emphasised her arrogance, as if the whole world should admire her.
I wonder how Kazuma can take care of those three stupid girls in his party, after all even Aqua without the combination of Darkness and Megumin is troublesome enough.
"Really, this world is so lucky to have me as a part of it. So, please, do not hesitate to ask for my help in matters big or small. I will be happy to help you, of course, once I feel that you are worthy of receiving help from a goddess like myself."
I guess it's not too late to transfer to another school, after all I'm quite curious how a goddess who even slept in a stable at the beginning of her journey was able to enrol in this high school!
Where did this girl get the money for that?
Also it seems that this girl is really serious about haunting my life.
But as I stared at Aqua with a stupid look, someone's comment caught my attention.
"I think this girl has schizo or chuunibyou? I don't know, especially since she considers herself a goddess" Shido who was even beside me made a very valid comment.
I knew this girl must have schizo, even though she is a goddess, this girl always has problems with her brain.
"No, I think this girl has more serious brain problems than we thought" I said in response to Shido's comment.
Meanwhile, Shido, who was beside me, just looked annoyed as if he agreed with my words.
"I wonder how this girl got into our class." Ai who was even sitting in front of me looked at Aqua with a pitying gaze, as if seeing someone who was about to die regain her health for a moment.
I didn't know this girl could be so cruel.
"So everyone! From now on submit under the light of this goddess!" Aqua declared her words with great arrogance.
Even Tamae Sensei who was beside her could only remain silent, as if confused by the current situation
She tried to persuade Aqua to stop but that seemed to fail.
But, of all the reactions given by the people in the class, the one that caught my attention the most was how contrasting the expressions were between Mai and Origami.
While Mai looked excited as if she had found her old ally, on the contrary, Origami almost even broke the pen in her hand.
I think she didn't have a good relationship with Aqua in the previous timeline.
"A-Aqua-san, can you stop? I think we should continue the lesson now" Tamae sensei nervously coaxed Aqua.
Poor girl, having to deal with a crazy girl like Aqua.
"hm! Of course, I was just introducing myself earlier, also where should I sit?" Aqua asked casually as her gaze shifted towards the empty seat behind me.
Whatever it is, I beg you not to let this girl sit behind me!
"Hm... That, how about behind Tonomachi-kun? Also Tonomachi-kun can you guide Aqua later for the introduction of the school environment?"
I gave up! Fate doesn't seem to be on my side this time.
"Yes sensei" I said listlessly.
But as I buried my face into the table, I could feel that Aqua stopped right in front of me, her gaze seemed to be deliberately directed towards me.
I don't know why everyone was watching us strangely, I thought I was going to get a strange rumour with Aqua soon.
But, other than that, Origami can you stop that creepy stare of yours? I haven't done anything wrong this time!
"Fufu~ arrogant human, we finally meet again, after all these years I've been waiting for this moment, as I promised before, I will continue to haunt your life!" Aqua folded her arms as she looked at me arrogantly.
What is this girl saying? Didn't we just meet yesterday?
"Well... um... Aqua it's been a while" I tried to reply to her with a friendly greeting, but the words she let out next really left me speechless.
"Hmpf! Don't think I've forgotten this rejection of me back then, remember I'll make sure you'll accept it!"
As Aqua said that, I could even hear some of the mukai people making up weird stories about me dumping Aqua.
Damn it! Why did I become the villain in the story they made up?
But when I wanted to deny, I could see the sly smile on her face.
Damn! Rather than just an unintentional misunderstanding, this girl really created an atmosphere as if I was the loser who left her.
Aqua was staring at me with a confident gaze, as if she really deserved all the attention in this room.
"So, Tonomachi-kun," Aqua began in a softer voice, but it was clearly full of poison.
"As I said before, we have a past debt, don't we? You may not remember, but I clearly remember how you rejected me back then. After everything I did"
I glanced around, seeing classmates who were starting to take an interest in our conversation. Even Mai and Origami seemed to be watching with different expressions.
Mai looked curious, while Origami... I don't know, I couldn't see clearly but one thing was for sure, this was not going to end well.
I really want to slam my head into the table right now. This stupid girl just ruined my reputation in front of everyone. I glanced at Aqua, who seemed very satisfied with the mess she had created. She was really enjoying this.
"Sorry, Aqua, I don't know what you're talking about," I said flatly, trying to ignore everyone's curious stares.
"I don't think we've met before yesterday."
Aqua crossed her arms over her chest with a cocky smile. "Of course you would say that! Humans always try to deny embarrassing things!"
I gave Tamae-sensei a pleading look, hoping she would do something to stop this charade. But sensei just smiled awkwardly, clearly not knowing how to handle this situation.
Origami, on the other hand, didn't look happy. I could even feel a chill from her. If gaze could kill, Aqua would have been killed hundreds of times by now.
Even I could clearly see Origami's gaze that seemed ready to cut off Aqua's head at any moment.
But damn it, if this girl really wants to play with fire like this, I'll go along with all your games!
The flames were burning inside me, as someone who will have a harem in the future, how could I be so passive?
At this moment, I immediately grabbed Aqua's hand that was about to pass by me, holding her hand tightly I bowed my head as if guilty.
"I confess, I'm sorry, Aqua, I've told you repeatedly that I already have a girl I like, so for the hundredth time, I have to reject your feelings" I said sadly.
As the class returned to silence, even some people glanced at Aqua with pity.
Take my revenge, stupid goddess!
Aqua was silent for a moment as she looked at me stunned, before her face returned to normal and she sat down quietly.
And just like that, the first recess time rang, Meanwhile, Origami who had always seemed to be watching me before immediately approached me. She didn't say anything, just looked at me intensely. I knew that expression, she was obviously not happy.
"I didn't do anything," I said hurriedly, trying to defend myself.
Origami only got closer, bending down slightly so that her face was almost level with mine, she took a nearby chair as she sat by the table with a lunchbox in her hands.
"I won't say anything for this time, I'll forgive you, but not next time, so keep your distance from her." she said as she placed some of the lunch she brought in front of me.
"Eat up, I've cooked this for you, I don't want you to get sick from lack of food"
For some reason this girl started acting like she was my legal wife.
"You know if it wasn't my fault in the first place, that girl started it all" I said defensively.
"I know, that's why I hate that girl" she said as she picked up the rice before trying to feed it to me.
I looked at her in confusion, did this girl want to do this in front of many people?
