Origami looked at me in confusion as I refused the food she gave me. "What's wrong? Is the food not to your taste?" she asked.
"It's not like that, you misunderstood, it's just that I thought I could eat by myself" I said as I tried to snatch the chopsticks from her. But Origami pulled her hand faster than me, making the chopsticks almost pierce my eyes.
"What do you mean by eating by yourself? Hiroto, don't ever act independently in front of me, so eat this quietly and let me take care of you in my own way" she said in a tone that almost sounded like a threat.
I don't know what this girl was thinking, did she not see how everyone was looking at us curiously.
And Shido even looked at me like a stranger, what is this guy thinking?
Wait! Don't tell me he senses that one of his potential future harem mates has been snatched away by accident?
It's not entirely my fault! It's something that happened beyond my control after all.
Just blame myself in the previous timeline. Just because I made a mistake there, it doesn't mean that I should be responsible for the problems caused by my other self.
And anyway, right now I'm just a good-hearted teenage boy with dreams of having a harem of beautiful girls.
"Ha~ you know I'm not a kid anymore." I said, as I tried to persuade Origami while glancing at the lunch box she was still holding.
"Well, I know that but you're also not someone mature enough to stay away from problems like this," she said flatly as she looked at Aqua who was still sitting at the end of the room with a sour face, Aqua who was surrounded by many girls on all sides seemed not to notice Origami's gaze.
I know this girl hated my interaction with Aqua before, I think having a possessive girl around me is quite troublesome.
I sighed weakly, choosing to give up rather than having to argue, after all this was just Origami feeding me, there was nothing special about it.
Except that the strange rumours about me would be even bigger.
As Origami spooned the rice into my mouth, she did so with gentle movements, seeming very careful as if afraid of hurting me, a complete contrast to her previous actions that always seemed threatening.
I chewed slowly, looking at Origami from in front of her.
"This is delicious" I said.
Origami only nodded briefly before returning to feeding me like a mother bird.
Completely different from the dishes made by Ako before, I wouldn't even be surprised if Origami's cooking was on par with top-class chefs.
But right now I could feel the sharp gazes of the people around me.
Damn, it really feels cool when I can show things that only Riajuu can do in front of everyone.
"Are you really going to take that transfer student for an introduction to the school environment?" Origami suddenly asked as she lowered her head and stabbed the meat in the lunch box hard, I could even see her hands seemed to be clenched tightly.
"Uh... actually I haven't decided anything yet," I replied, trying to sound as calm as possible.
"After all, isn't it just a normal neighbourhood introduction? And also, it was Tamae sensei who asked me directly earlier" I said briefly.
"In that case, let me come with you," Origami quickly demanded, looking at me pleadingly.
This was the first time she had looked at me like this since our first meeting at the cherry blossom tree earlier.
Damn! Why does the look in her eyes seem so cute? What is this? Is this the Origami that always looks possessive?
"Sure, you can iku with me" I replied briefly, even I could see the slight surprise on Origami's face as I agreed without much consideration.
What do I need to think about? It's just a simple school environment introduction after all.
Origami smiled slightly, as if satisfied with my answer.
I could even see how her expression seemed to change.
"So, when are we going to do it?" Origami asked, finally putting down her chopsticks and looking at me with a hopeful gaze.
"Later after school is over," I answered briefly.
"Hm? Are you okay with that schedule? Aren't you going to have a club meeting later after school, aren't you guys preparing for the sports week anyway?" Origami asked as she looked at me as if worried.
"Don't worry, I can manage the time for that, after all Club activities...eh?" I paused for a moment, looking at Origami blankly.
I don't think I've ever told anyone the schedule of my club activities, how did this girl find out?
As she felt my gaze, Origami only gave a faint smile in return.
"How did you know about my club schedule?" I asked in a low voice, looking at Origami who was still smiling slightly.
As if she had no intention of answering my question. Instead, she picked up the almost empty lunch in front of me, tidying it up casually. After a while, she looked at me again, this time with an expression that was hard to interpret.
"Hiroto, didn't I tell you not to act independently in front of me," she said with a small smile.
"Besides, isn't it normal for me to know your daily schedule?" she said sweetly.
I paused for a moment when she said that, not knowing whether to feel touched or worried about receiving so much attention from a girl as beautiful as origami.
"Origami, are you-"
Origami cut me off by tapping me lightly on the shoulder.
"Don't think about it too much. I just wanted to make sure you weren't exhausted. Aren't I the perfect girlfriend?" she said in a cheerful tone that sounded contrived.
Wait! The perfect girlfriend? When did I agree to date her?
"I never agreed to this, you remember what I said before under the cherry blossom tree right?" I said flatly, but somehow I was a little happy.
"Well, I remember that, but even if not now, it doesn't mean not in the future" Origami said that as she smiled brightly, as if it was a sure thing that would happen.
I sighed, finding it useless to press further. Trying to understand a girl like origami would only make me more confused.
I think I'll let her do what she wants as long as it's harmless.
....
With that, time passed quickly. The bell signalling the end of school hours rang out, and I immediately headed towards the Hall as Tamae-sensei had requested earlier.
Really, I don't know why Tamae-sensei asked me to pick Aqua up at the hall instead of taking her around as usual.
But, as I had expected, Origami was already waiting for me outside the classroom, leaning her back against the wall quietly.
As soon as her eyes met mine, a faint smile spread across her lips. Without saying a word, she stepped closer, walking beside me.
"So, what are you going to show that girl?" Origami started the conversation, her voice remaining calm, though I could feel a hint of curiosity flicker through it.
"Everything on the standard schedule, of course," I replied with a shrug.
"The cafeteria, library, club room, sports field... everything." I said.
Origami gave a small nod, then closed her eyes as she walked after me.
"But, I hope you don't get too close to her. I don't like seeing him talking to you." she said suddenly.
I glanced at Origami briefly as we walked hand in hand, looking at her calmly as if I was used to it.
"Origami, you know this is just a formality assignment from Tamae-tensei, right? It's not like I'm asking her out or anything."
"Yeah, I know," she said, then moved closer, close enough that I could feel her breath.
"But still, I don't like seeing you get too close to girls other than me. Hiroto, you're my boyfriend, so you should pay more attention to myself than other girls"
For some reason when Origami said that, she sounded more like claiming goods than people, even though she said that I was her boyfriend, I felt that it was more like a statement.
Hadi I just sighed and continued my steps, letting her follow behind me.
Arriving at the hall, I saw Aqua standing near the entrance, her face looking cheerful as usual.
But when she saw me, she folded her arms across her chest before making an annoyed face.
But before I could greet her, Origami was already standing between us, blocking her view with her body.
"Origami?" I asked confused.
What did this girl want to do?
She didn't answer me, just gave Aqua a sharp look before finally speaking.
"Hiroto will guide you this time. But don't think you can go beyond that, I'll be monitoring you."
"Ha? What did this strange girl say to me?" Aqua looked confused, but quickly turned her attention from Origami to me.
"Human, what did this emotionless girl say?" Aqua asked in confusion.
"Just leave her alone, I'm here to be your guide after all"
"Ah! Right, I forgot that you're going to be my servant for a while" she said as she hit herself lightly on the head.
Did this stupid goddess really forget something this important?
But, aside from that, I wonder where her confidence came from, after all referring to myself as a servant is a little strange to me.
Putting Aqua's strange words aside, I pulled Origami back and brought her to stand beside me as if to distance her from Aqua.
Although Aqua was just a goddess who always looked stupid, it didn't mean she wouldn't do something strange if Origami went too far, after all even if Origami was one of AST's troops, it didn't mean she was able to resist the power of a goddess.
Besides, I don't know what Aqua's current strength is, whether it will be the same as in the anime or not.
I don't want to take any chances.
"Aqua, meet you, the girl with me is Origami" I introduced Origami to Aqua.
"Tobiichi Origami" she said briefly, it was clear that Origami didn't like Aqua very much.
Aqua just stared at Origami for a moment as if losing interest, then she turned her attention to me.
"Human! Quickly guide me around this school as my servant you must follow my orders before I get angry!" Aqua said seemingly trying to command.
For some reason I felt quite strange when being called a human, after all I felt like I was some kind of alien species when I was called like that.
Putting aside Aqua's arrogant words, there was one thing that caught my attention, how this girl was able to apply to this school without money.
"Ha~ before that, tell me, how did you get into this school? Shouldn't you have no money?" I asked in confusion, without worrying about Origami in the slightest.
I wasn't sure Origami would say much anyway, after all she definitely didn't want her crush to have strange rumours with another girl.
"Why are you asking?"
"I'm just curious, after all you seem unreliable" I said honestly.
"What do you mean unreliable?! I am Aqua! The great goddess of water! Do you want to fight with me!"
"Stop that, just tell me, I'm quite curious"
"Let me tell a mortal like you how a goddess works, I just need to hypnotise a wealthy old couple and convince them that I'm their granddaughter, so they take care of all the paperwork to get into this school for me and it's easy for me."
I think this girl is very honest, she doesn't even hide anything behind her words.
But even if I were to appreciate her honesty, I still can't imagine how a goddess would commit this kind of deception just for a place to live.
I paused for a moment, trying to digest what Aqua had just said.
"Wait! So, you used your powers to... hypnotise them?" I asked, making sure I hadn't heard wrong.
"Yes, of course. It's the most efficient way, right? After all, they seem happy when they spoil me," Aqua replied without a trace of guilt, smiling proudly instead.
Origami, who had been silent, suddenly sneered.
"Pathetic" she said as she glanced at Aqua, looking at her like an idiot.
Nice words Origami! Tell this stupid goddess how sharp your tongue is!
Aqua rolled her eyes as she glanced at Origami, looking condescending.
"Hey, flat girl, what's your problem! I'm talking to this guy anyway, not you!"
While Origami didn't seem to care about Aqua's words, she turned her attention elsewhere, after all her purpose here was only to take care of me.
"Damn it! Look at me when I talk to you! You dare to degrade this goddess!"
"Can you stop that? We're going to go tour the school soon anyway" I lazily interrupted Aqua's words.
Aqua snorted loudly, as if feeling that she was being humiliated by Origami's indifference and my casual attitude. However, she finally lowered her hands that had been clenched.
"Hmph! Then guide me quickly! I don't have time to waste with a stupid human like you," Aqua said, turning her body around and walking towards the corridor.
Origami raised her thin eyebrows, then looked at me with her cold gaze.
"Hiroto, we'd better leave that clown alone" When Origami said that, she grabbed my hand as if inviting me to leave.
"If I do that, Tamae-sensei will scold me" I refused briefly before Origami let go of my hand.
Looking at Aqua who had walked away, we quickly left the Hall, we walked down the school corridor, the awkward atmosphere was somewhat felt here, after all besides Aqua who seemed to not care, on the other hand, Origami always tried to keep a distance between me and Aqua.
"What's that over there?" Aqua pointed towards the art room, where some students seemed to be busy painting.
"That's the art room. You can take lessons there if you're interested in fine arts," I replied briefly.
"Not interested. Art doesn't produce any power." Aqua waved her hand with a bored expression.
I don't think this girl knew Deidara.
Origami, who had been silent, gave Aqua a scornful glance.
"Maybe you should learn the art of speech, considering you're not good at choosing words," she said in a sharp but even tone.
Aqua gave Origami an annoyed look.
"And maybe you should learn to develop emotions so you don't look like a robot."
I quickly intervened before things got heated. "Hey, hey, don't start this again. We're here for the school tour, not to insult each other."
The two were silent as they stared at each other, though I could feel the tension between them. I sighed and continued to the library.
"This is the school library. You can find textbooks, novels, or other literature here," I said as I opened the door.
Aqua stepped inside curiously, looking at the tall shelves full of books. "Hmm, this place might be useful... if I want to learn more about this world."
Origami, on the other hand, showed no interest. She just stood by the door, watching Aqua with a wary gaze.
After a few minutes, we continued our tour to the club room. When we arrived at the sports club room, some of the students who were practising stopped to look at us.
I could even hear their whispers about how I was walking with two beautiful girls.
Is this the feeling that harem novel protagonists always feel? I think I like it.
Origami seemed unconcerned, but Aqua, as usual, seemed happy to be the centre of attention.
"Human, is this the place where you show your physical strength? It seems that no one is strong enough to fight me here, after all I can sink this city to the bottom of the sea easily" When she said this, Aqua looked arrogant as if what she said was the absolute truth.
Although I don't know if what she said was true or just an empty claim.
"No, this is just a training room. Here, students practice various sports like basketball, volleyball, or badminton."
Aqua raised an eyebrow. "Sports? I'd rather lie down in my room than do something tiring like that" She said looking disinterested.
If this girl wasn't interested in sports, how could she be interested in being my guide in another world?
But, Origami who was beside me interjected a short comment. "That's because you're a slacker who doesn't even have the slightest motivation"
"You!" Aqua was about to reply, but I quickly distracted them.
"Alright, let's proceed to the sports ground."
When we arrived at the field, some students were playing football. Aqua watched them for a moment before speaking.
"Is this what you call a team game? Looks boring, I'd rather play games in my room"
I sighed, feeling like this tour was getting harder than I thought. Origami approached, stood beside me, and said softly.
"Hiroto, are you sure you want to keep guiding this girl? She's only going to be trouble."
I looked at Origami wearily. "Well, it's a task from Tamae-sensei. Besides, it's only temporary."
Origami didn't answer, but her gaze showed that she wasn't satisfied with my answer.
Aqua, who was already getting bored, looked at me. "Human, what else are you going to show me? If there's nothing interesting, I'll go by myself."
"Then go, get away from hiroto!" Origami lit up again, as if Aqua's words were her chance to drive him away, away from me.
"I'm not talking to you! Flat girl!"
"I'm talking because you're troublesome to Hiroto, also for someone who claims to be a goddess, you're too fussy"
When Origami said that, Aqua looked at Origami with a frown as she returned Origami's reply.
"And you're too arrogant for someone who has nothing but that flat face!"
"Oh, thank you for the compliment, because my boyfriend prefers me like this" Origami said as she pulled me close.
"Oh yeah? But it seems you're not the only girl around this guy" Aqua said looking mocking.
"So what? I'll still be the first one anyway"
I thought this discussion was getting off track.
I wonder when I can live in peace?
But just when I thought I was going to look into this fight further, a sweet girl's voice that looked familiar rang out.
"Lux-sama, why are you visiting the club so late?"
