Chapter 3 - Demon meets slayer!

"To bring a demon in front of me is a felony, I'm know to take shots in the box like its a penalty" –Sanemi (Breeton boi)

What yall know about Nerdcore?!

.....

Sanemi breathed, heaving a deep exhale. Before taking another deep inhale, he continued the process for a few seconds before his nerves settled.

He carefully placed his eyes on the scope and made sure to keep the barrel of the rifle steady as he aimed, in his sight he could see the demon king exiting a small private clinic with a woman beside him.

He kept his anger in check and steadied his hand. This was not the time to let his emotions get the better of him.

Using a sniping rifle was not something most demon slayers were good at, in fact using a gun at all was not something demon slayers were keen on doing at all, even himself didn't like using it, it felt unsettling and unfitting.

However, as the wind hashira and master of the Wind Elemental Technique, which allowed him to manipulate the wind to some extent, making him perfect for sniping the enemy.

For instance, he can reduce the wind speed, allowing him to snipe his foe without having to account for the wind too much and thus making it easier to do his job.

It was fortunate that the demon slayers have always kept a close eye on the Demon king, making sure to be far away enough that he can't sense them but close enough to tell where he is going and doing.

Sanemi carefully placed his finger on the trigger, making sure he didn't suddenly pull and fire off and wasting the bullets and the opportunity.

Nichirin bullets weren't as effective as Nichirin blades. However, they were effective enough to weaken the target and allow the slayer to quickly close in and slice their head off.

Of course since this was the demon king he was targeting, this was a trial run, they've never managed to hit him with one of the bullets before, it's imperative to know how effective they were to the progenitor of the demons.

With his barrel steady and his breath calm, Sanemi began to squeeze the trigger slowly.

As the wind Hashira, he was sensitive to the changes in the wind.

At present he was at the top of a tall office building, this meant there was a steady breeze he was feeling ever since he arrived here however there was a shift in that breeze, it was slight, so small that the average person would not be able to tell but he could.

With the swiftness of the wind, faster than a second, he whirled himself around, immediately facing the person who had come behind him and pulled the trigger.

The bullets silently flew out the barrel and cut through the air as they flew towards the face of the pink haired Demon.

Akaza swiftly dodged the attack, the bullets grazing his cheek, and he felt the stinging pain from them. He ignored it as his fist went straight for Sanemi's solar plexus

The Hashira was quick to roll to the side, dodging the attack and quickly pulling out his Nichirin blade, and took a fight ready stance.

He looked at the demon before him, light pink hair and basketball like tattoos on his face. He recognized him, and the Hashira couldn't help but tense his muscles. The demon before him was an upper moon, and that meant he had to retreat.

The Demon slayers were not a delusional bunch. They knew their limits as humans and understood that Uppermoon demons should not be engaged at times where the sun wasn't going to rise anytime soon.

It may seem a bit cowardly, but it's also strategic. A Hashira facing an Uppermoon usually means that it was planned by the Hashira.

"That's impressive. You dodged me despite erasing my presence and ensuring I step as lightly as possible. You're talented, you'd make a great demon"

Akaza praised, his face showing an amused smile. While he enjoyed driving his master around, he also enjoyed fighting, so this was good.

If he hadn't gone out to check the perimeter in order to ensure Lady Ume's safety after having booked a nearby hotel, he wouldn't have noticed the Hashira.

"Fuck off, who'd ever want to be a cannibal like you? You ugly baldy"

Sanemi insulted the Demon and Akaza simply shrugged. They always rejected the offer despite how beneficial it would be.

"I don't get it, you guys always decline this offer, being a demon means you don't get to age and you can heal injuries quickly, it's practically the dream for many people, it's literally a bargain, what's the issue here?"

"If you can't see the issue then I pity you, such a wretched thing, unaware of its own sickness"

The slayer expressed as wind began to coalesce around his lower body like a tornado, slowly lifting him off the building.

"The only thing to pity here is you. You're running away because you're weak, even a weak demon can at least count on the fact the they can heal and regenerate limbs but you can just die from being punched too hard"

Akaza responded with a frown on his face, it was always so confusing how these slayers seemed to view being a demon as a defect when it was an improvement.

"Don't flatter yourself demon, you're nothing but a scared child afraid of reality, you couldn't live with your own humanity so you ran away."

Akaza frowned deeper, The demon was displeased and didn't like what the slayer had to say, he quickly burst forward in a flash of speed, an attempt to catch the slayer however Sanemi shot off into the air like a rocket and disappeared into the distance, leaving a frustrated Akaza to punch the air.

"I hope Muzan-Sama won't be angry at me for this"

He said scratching his head and decided to go report to him about his encounter with the slayer.

"Wait, he's with Lady Tamayo right now, should I disturb him?"

The demon questioned scratching his head once again, While his master wasn't outright cruel, he had a hair trigger temper and that usually meant getting yelled at and Akaza would rather not experience that.

"Hm what a dilemma"

Rather than just stay in the middle of a roof considering things he decided to go back to his duty, if anything his master will appreciate it if his most loyal servant chose to protect his wife over something as trivial as reporting the actions of the Demon slayers and so Akaza disappeared from the roof.
