Chapter 43 - Fate’s Web: A King, A Witch, and the Unseen Threads

Amidst the debates and whispers of the masses,

the scene in the sky remained vibrant with swirling colors,

and the plot took a new turn.

[Under the moonlit night, the beautiful King of Britain conversed with the modern magician girl.]

[As if fate had decreed it, the cursed connection between the Yukinoshita family and Artoria continued. The magical array that summoned Saber in the Fifth Holy Grail War was, in fact, drawn ten years ago by Yukinoshita Haruno, quite casually.]

[Because of this, the summoning process of Saber was negatively affected.]

[Although Saber was the strongest among the seven servants, a Sword-class servant, she was inexplicably weak.]

[While Yukinoshita Yukino possessed incredible magical talent, she failed to establish a proper link with her servant, leaving even the mighty Knight King unable to unleash her signature Noble Phantasm—her A++ ranked Excalibur.]

[Yet, despite this, Artoria bore no resentment.]

[She had descended into the Holy Grail War, and she would fight with all her strength to protect her Master and claim the Holy Grail!]

[Outside the warehouse, Yukinoshita Yukino was still somewhat confused, but she introduced herself.]

["My name is Yukinoshita Yukino. Just call me Yukino."]

["Yukinoshita... Master, you can call me Artoria."]

[The King of Knights, with her signature cowlick, spoke in a deep voice. Her clear, bright eyes momentarily flickered when she heard the name "Yukinoshita."]

[Oh no, it's fallen into their hands...]

[Am I now a family heirloom?]

[After a brief moment of surprise, Artoria regained her composure, taking a deep breath to calm herself.]

[Tonight, it seemed she would have nightmares.]

[She hoped that by the end of the Holy Grail War, Yukino wouldn't repeat Haruno's actions.]

["In the name of the Command Seal, destroy the Holy Grail..."]

[But soon, two unfamiliar auras swiftly approached, and the King of Knights' gaze turned stern.]

[Had the commotion attracted the attention of the observing servants?]

[In an instant, the Knight King turned to face her Master, her expression grave. "Yukino, stay here. I'll take care of the enemies."]

["Huh?!"]

[Staring at the swiftly retreating figure of the blonde girl, Yukino was left puzzled.]

[But her obsessive sense of justice wouldn't allow her to stand by idly, and she quickly followed.]

---

"That's a lot of information."

In the world of the sky, Yukinoshita Haruno, surprised, turned her head.

The version of herself from the parallel world not only participated in the previous Holy Grail War—

but seemed to have become its sole victor.

However, according to Saber, she had destroyed the Holy Grail at her fingertips?

The Holy Grail, the omnipotent cup that could grant any wish!

Could there be more to the Holy Grail War than meets the eye?

Yet, when Haruno thought about how her parallel self had once partnered with King Arthur,

she couldn't help but smile, her lips curling upward.

What an honor…

"This Holy Grail War's Arthur is not at his peak, what a pity."

The petite girl in a blue bow dress sighed.

As a Japanese with foreign blood, Meiiko Honma naturally held a favorable view of King Arthur.

She was still quite excited to see Artoria's magnificent performance, as the Holy Sword cut through the Holy Grail War!

"Agreed!"

Nearby, the world-class singer Luo Tianyi nodded, her expression tinged with regret.

"Agreed +1."

Her best friend, the green-haired twin-tailed Hatsune Miku, sighed as well.

---

The scene in the sky turned again, shifting perspectives and sparking countless flashes of light.

[In a dark alley, a fierce battle suddenly erupted!]

["Boom...!!"]

[The young man in white smiled helplessly, throwing countless magical gemstones while using magic to enhance his body, desperately evading the attacks.]

[However, the powerful and imposing King of Knights pressed her advantage.]

[With sharp eyes, she wielded an invisible sword wrapped in the Wind King's barrier, unleashing a thousand strikes in an instant, all of which were narrowly dodged by her opponent.]

["I surrender, I surrender~."]

[Luo Shu, with a carefree smile, raised his hands in surrender.]

[But as everyone knew, the Knight King never showed mercy.]

[Artoria gripped the hilt of her sword tightly, contemplating the cessation of her offensive.]

[Her expression serious, she spoke, "Your wrist bears a Command Seal. You must be a participant in the Holy Grail War. If you willingly withdraw, I will let you go."]

["Clang—!!"]

[Suddenly, two blades struck, and the King of Knights' pupils contracted, drawing her sword to parry.]

[In the blink of an eye, a white-haired female heroic spirit stood in front of Luo Shu.]

[The black-clad Archer observed the situation, and upon seeing the small figure behind the Knight King, he sneered and mocked, "Yukinoshita Yukino, is this how you repay your savior?"]

[Upon hearing this, the King of Knights looked confused.]

[She turned to Yukino for instructions.]

["Savior... Could it be...?!" ]

[Yukinoshita Yukino was stunned. She quickly pulled the ruby necklace from her neck, the same one that had saved her life during Medusa's attack.]

[The girl bit her lip tightly and scrutinized Lio Shu closely, soon spotting that familiar moon-white glow.]

"The corner of her clothes."

"Sorry, Senior Luo..."

Yukino lowered her head in embarrassment.

She couldn't believe she hadn't stopped Artoria earlier; she had nearly made a huge mistake.

But Luo Shu seemed unfazed, giving a gentle smile. "It's fine. This isn't a place to talk. My family's church is large; you can come visit, and I'll also explain the details of the Holy Grail War to you."

"Really?!"

Yukino was stunned.

"Yukino!"

Artoria furrowed her brows. If this person had ill intentions towards her Master, there was a real danger of drawing Yukino into a trap of magic.

Given the experience of the previous Holy Grail War, such things were very likely to happen.

Even if she, Artoria, was brave and skilled in battle, it would be hard to protect Yukino's life.

"...I trust Senior Luo. Since he saved me, he wouldn't harm me."

Yukino looked up at her Servant, speaking with firm and sincere conviction.

"Alright, I'll do my best to protect you."

Artoria sighed.

This Master was really hard to handle...

If it were that despicable and shameless Haruno, she'd probably be blowing up buildings by now.

"Hmm?"

Outside the sky, after hearing Artoria's thoughts, Haruno scratched her head in confusion.

What on earth did she do in the last Holy Grail War that had the great King Arthur so concerned?

---

"Let's go. I'll take you to meet my senior."

Luo Shu's eyes held a hint of nostalgia as he spoke softly.

She was the adjudicator of this Holy Grail War, and with a Command Seal, it would be perfect for her to explain the rules of the war to Yukino.

Yukino nodded, while Artoria stood vigilantly by her side.

With Archer looking displeased, the group's figures gradually faded into the distance.

The air still carried the lingering resentment in Archer's muttered words: "Go drown yourself in your ideals, idiot."

It seemed that this white-haired Heroic Spirit was none too fond of Yukinoshita Yukino.

A few minutes later...

The war-torn land welcomed two unexpected guests.

One was clad in a blue bodysuit, muscles taut, while the other was a little bearded detective, his expression serious and focused.

They were none other than the Celtic hero, Cú Chulainn, and his Master.

"We're late..."

Kogoro Mori lit a cigarette, sighing heavily.

Cú Chulainn crouched down, using Rune Magic to enhance his senses, gently sniffing the air.

Soon, he detected a trace.

He stood up, his expression tinged with regret. "There were multiple Servants who fought here. If we had come earlier, we could've had a good battle."

Kogoro Mori gave him an exasperated look. "You're such a battle maniac."

Cú Chulainn laughed heartily. "Haha, after all, it's the only thing that brings me joy..."

"Who is it?!!"

His voice suddenly cut off, his gaze sharp as he looked up at the sky.

Though there was nothing there, Cú Chulainn couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. With a flick of anger, he threw his magic spear.

The blood-red light streaked through the sky.

"Crack—."

It was as if something had shattered.

The nauseating sense of being observed disappeared.

"Childish tricks."

Cú Chulainn scoffed coldly.

Facing this sudden turn of events, the little-bearded detective asked in surprise, "Lancer, did you find something?"

"This technique... it's likely from a Caster-class Servant."

Cú Chulainn nodded, sharing his analysis.

"...It's already begun. The perilous Holy Grail War."

Kogoro Mori sighed. "Let's go. This place has already become a vortex."

"I thought you'd have me track the trail."

Cú Chulainn smiled.

For the safety of his Master, he restrained his desire for battle.

The two figures slowly disappeared into the moonlight.

"Kogoro is so cool!"

Countless voices praised, while some began to wonder about Caster's identity.

---

"Liu Dong Temple, the underground magical base."

Countless torches were placed in the statues on either side, casting faint, flickering lights.

The witch, cloaked in purple, gritted her teeth as she stared at the broken crystal ball in her hand.

"Tch, damn mutt, daring to bark like that..."

"Wuwu..."

The noise behind her quickly caught the witch's attention. She hurriedly turned her head.

A girl with flaxen hair frowned, gesturing with sign language.

"...You don't want me to curse, right? Got it, Sir Shizuko."

The witch's expression softened into respect, her eyes filled with a touch of tenderness.

She gazed at the pitiful figure, her eyes

dazed, as she recalled their first meeting...

Under the curious gazes of countless onlookers,

the scene slowly shifted. The bright lights of the sky once again illuminated the screen.

The setting shifted to a resplendent mansion, its opulence radiating an air of decadence.
