Morning came and Alisa found herself waking up in an unfamiliar room. Her head was still aching terribly due to the hangover. She lazily got up from the bed only to find herself naked. Her heart raced violently as she panicked. She tried to think hard about what happened last night. As she traced her memory, she remembered that she was drugged by an expert. She struggled against her assailant because of her intoxication from the alcohol and the drug was also muddling her thoughts. Her carnal desires were ignited by the potent drug, making her feel like she would die if she didn't do something. She then kept on banging into the first door she saw until it opened and the cold face of the man greeted her. What happened after that was—
"Oh, no! No, no, nooo!"
She looked quickly towards her side and saw a man who was still sleeping. His back was facing her, so she couldn't see his face, nor did she have any thoughts of knowing whom she had sex with. She felt so much anguish and grief in her heart for losing her virginity to a man she didn't even know.
All she wanted to do right now was to disappear from the world. She carefully got out of the bed without making too much noise, afraid that the man beside her would wake up from the commotion. In her haste of changing her clothes, she didn't notice that she dropped a very important piece of her on the floor which was an old locket that she kept wearing for years. She opened the door slowly and left without leaving a note.
Alisa felt lost and helpless. She aimlessly wandered in the streets with her thoughts occupied by what happened last night. She couldn't deny that she enjoyed doing it, which horrified her greatly. She was like a beast that had grabbed her prey. The poor man was probably outraged by now if he found that the woman who threw her arms on him had disappeared into thin air after how she forced herself on him last night. She felt like throwing up when she thought of how her purity had been stained all because of a single mistake. She couldn't take it anymore and she broke down in tears until she fainted.
Meanwhile, the man woke up with a sore body. He remembered clearly the events that happened last night. That woman who forced herself on him was so wild that he thought she was some rabid beast that wanted to devour his flesh. He wanted to get up already since it was already late and he had a meeting today, but he felt something was off. His face darkened after seeing that there was no one else beside him. The veins on his forehead bulged as he was consumed by a terrible anger. After what she did to him, how could he just let her come and go as she pleased? He picked up his phone and dialed a number. With a frosty voice that sounded like it came from the depths of hell, he spoke out loud.
"Find out Alisa Hayworth's whereabouts and report everything to me."
Raphkiel Leonis Arnor was truly angered this time. He remembered how they made love to each other last night and how she craved for him. The sight of her face filled with bliss and lust was imprinted into his soul. However, he also remembered the tears she had shed before losing completely to her desires. Someone was playing with them. No matter how short he had known her, he knew she wasn't that kind of person.
Forgetting a little bit of his anger after thinking it through calmly, his face softened and he let out a deep sigh. He turned towards the bathroom to wash his body but stopped in his tracks. He accidentally stepped onto something. He bent downwards and picked up what seemed to be like a locket. Was it hers? He opened it and found a blurry picture inside which showed two people. One was a man in his thirties. He looked quite handsome with that light purple hair. Next to him was a young girl who was oozing with adorable cuteness. Her light purple hair greatly resembled her father but their eyes were totally different. Alisa's eyes probably came from her mother's genes.
"How cute." He blurted out without realizing that he was enchanted by her beauty. That fleeting moment he felt last night was truly unforgettable. He had to find her.
Still, Raphkiel had his own plate of problem to deal with. He wasn't supposed to be in this place yesterday. His broken heart wasn't able to get over with her traitorous first love so he drowned himself in sorrows. But she couldn't blame Meryl either. It was him who had decided to go to the battlefield. He was gone for so long that the girl probably had lost her love for him over time. That scene that burned in his eyes the moment he returned to the capital of Sylpharia where two people were caught entangled in the bedroom all naked and having intimate moments was the result of his own action.
But that didn't mean he forgave her. What he hated the most were conspiracies, being threatened, and lastly, being cheated. If only he wasn't able to hold himself that night, he would have brutally murdered the two adulterers on the spot.
After finishing a good bath and changing himself into a black suit, he was about to go to work when his phone rang again. He picked it up and the agitated voice of his distant cousin echoed through the speaker.
"Bad news, Raphkiel! Those bastards from Sylpharia are sending people secretly in the country to assassinate you again."
"Let them come. We'll invite them to our territory. Just do the same and have their bloodied heads delivered towards the palace. If they dare come in here, I'll just kill his people again and again until there's no one left to send." His eyes was gleaming with so much coldness and murder that it would probably turn someone to a block of ice if he set his eyes upon them.
"Got it. Oh, and the woman you are looking for, Alisa, was it?"
"What about her?"
"Apparently, someone found her on the streets while she was unconscious. She was sent to the hospital just a while ago."
"Raphkiel was taken aback. Was she being targeted by the Sylpharians again? That couldn't be right since she was so strong that no one could defeat her. Her strength was probably on par with his own. He was worried, but he had to attend for some pressing matters in the company because his relatives were so eager to sabotage him.
"Keep an eye on her and update me of her situation."
Beep!
The phone call had ended. There was a turmoil in Raphkiel's heart. This was the first he had learned that she could be fragile too. She was like a mass murder machine when she was in the battlefield and nothing could faze her; not even the threats of a marshal like Balthor or even the thousands of Chalandrians she had faced all on her own back in Duskhaven. He wondered what was wrong with her.
At some point, Alisa woke up again and found herself lying in a hospital bed. She was greeted by the sight of the doctor. Her brows furrowed as she was confused. She asked, "What am I doing here?"
"Oh, you're awake? Someone saw you collapsing on the street and was kind enough to call an ambulance for you. You're quite lucky, eh?" The doctor said with a smile.
"I see..."
"Take a good rest and then you can be discharged. You're already fine now."
Alisa nodded. She didn't want to talk to anyone. She was still mortified regarding what she had done last night. Tears flowed form her eyes once again at the thought that she wouldn't be able to achieve a segment of her wishes that she could live a normal life and marry someone she would eventually love before giving herself to him. Instead of that happening, she willingly offered herself to an unknown man. How shameful!
She weakly reached out to her phone that was brought together with her and called her friend, Sylvia. She probably had been worried sick since she just disappeared all of a sudden last night. After the phone call went through, Sylvia's anxious and pouting voice could be heard on the other side.
"Lissy, where in the world did you go? I was scared to death when you suddenly ditched me."
"I-I'm sorry... I got caught up in a mess last night."
"Are you... crying?" Sylvia was a little hesitant to say it but she could hear her sobs clearly. She didn't know why but suddenly felt guilty. "Where are you? I'm going to pick you up."
Alisa gave the address of the hospital. Sylvia's mind was full of worries upon learning that she was being confined. She quickly hopped into her car and drove faster like a professional racer. Within ten minutes, she arrived in the parking lot of Good Hope Hospital. She went inside to inquire at the receptionist for Alisa's room number.
"Miss, is there a person named Alisa Hayworth here?"
"Hello. She's in room 203." The receptionist promptly replied.
"Thanks!"
She hurriedly went to where Alisa was and there, she found her in a state of daze while looking at the boring white walls of in front of her. Sylvia's heart ached at the sight of Alisa's vulnerability. This wasn't the same girl she admired. Something terrible probably happened last night that made her like this. If only she didn't insist on celebrating on their partnership.
"Lissy!" She called out to her while she broke into tears and rushed towards Alisa to give her a warm, comforting hug. Alisa was momentarily stunned before bursting out in loud cries and the two women's sobs reverberated inside the small room.
