Steve's presence caused a stir in the waiter's and Sylvia's hearts. He was akin to a demon dwelling in the depths of hell due to his brutal character. Rumors said that he owned several business both in the legal and illegal circles. He had killed a lot of people who dared to turn against him. Sylvia didn't want to get entangled with such an a troublesome person. Right now, her family wouldn't be able to protect her because she was currently at odds with them. Even if they weren't, she doubted that her family would want to cross their ways with a nutjob like Steve.
Steve was walking in large strides towards their direction and Sylvia couldn't help but feel fear in heart. "What is the meaning of this, Dwayne Wyatt?"
Dwayne felt his scalp tingled at the mention of his name. He hurriedly explained with a nervous tone. "Mr. Huang, I apologize for this mess. It's just that these two women wouldn't want to leave the area even though I mentioned your name."
He looked over to the two women sitting on the table. His eyes narrowed dangerously, showing a glint of faint madness in it as he coldly spoke. "Hurry up and scram unless you don't know what's good for you."
Sylvia was terrified. She secretly kicked Alisa's feet softly to signal her for them to leave immediately. However, the latter was still pretending that she hadn't notice anything and continued eating her food.
"Miss Hayworth!" She anxiously called out in a soft whisper.
"You don't have to worry Syl. Don't just let these people bully you or they'll keep on taking advantage on your weakness and will harass you repetitively in the future." She replied in a calm voice while she was softly munching on her food with her eyes closed.
Veins popped out on Steve's forehead upon hearing her. He let out an evil laugh. He stared at Alisa and thought that she looked extraordinary. She wasn't like any of those girls he met who only willingly threw their arms at him. She exuded an air of gracefulness and full of confidence.
"Which family do you belong to, woman? Do you know that even the heads of the five great families except for the Arnors would have to give me some respect if they saw me?"
Alisa opened her eyes and frowned. "I'm just an ordinary citizen without parents. So what? Who do you think you are to deserve for my respect?"
His laugh was getting louder and sneered. "Alright! You're quite stubborn, aren't you? Men! Drag this woman to my room. I'll see if she will still act arrogantly once I have my fun with her."
Dwayne was delighted to hear that Alisa would be taught a lesson personally by Steve but he also felt it was such a waste. He wanted to have a taste of her first. If Steve got his hands on her, he would undoubtedly break her spirit. There was no fun playing with a broken toy. He wanted to object to Steve's idea but the latter's deadly glare shut his mouth tight.
"Fools... I feel like puking out the food I have eaten every time I see disgusting cowards like you." Alisa spat with contempt. Before the men could even drag her, she picked up the butter knife and swung it so fast that they couldn't follow her movements with their eyes.
All of a sudden, blood spurted from their severed hands like fountains. Everyone was horrified. How could a simple butter knife cut off several hands? Alisa stood up and brandished the butter knife on Steve's neck. He was petrified from fear. This woman was so ruthless. He underestimated her.
"How about you bring your men away and scram? Don't wait for me to lose my patience. You might as well feel now that I could kill all of you here with ease. Do you want to try?"
Alisa's cold smile was like a poison that slowly entered their minds and caused them to feel choked. Steve had never been shamed like this before. He wanted to retaliate, but now was not the right time. One slight mistake would cost him everything, including his life. He immediately dropped to his knees and prostrated in front of the two women. "I'm very sorry for offending you, miss. I promise to never do it again."
Alisa gave him a kick and stomped on his head violently, making his forehead bled. "You apologize to my friend instead. How dare you come in here and scare her?"
He was at his wits and could only swallow his pride. "I'm sorry, young miss. I didn't mean to threaten you."
"Now, get your asses out of here before I change my mind." With one final threat, Alisa threw the butter knife towards him. It only grazed through his face, making a slight line of red, before it hit the floor and burrowed deeply as if the floor was made of butter. Steve yelped in pain while scurrying out of the third floor in pain. Dwayne didn't want to deal with a crazy woman so he also left along with his men.
Alisa sighed and went back to her seat. She then saw Sylvia who was staring at her with sparkling eyes. Before she could even speak, Sylvia abruptly stood up and held her hand. "Miss Hayworth, you were so amazing just now. What did you do to them? My, you are so powerful. I really found a hidden gem this time!"
"Um, aren't you scared of the bloodshed?" She asked.
"Oh, that? It's a common occurrence within the great families. But still, I was scared to death by that scumbag, Steve Huang. Even my family wouldn't want to deal with him if possible. I'm afraid you have attracted his attention. What are we going to do about it? Anyway, you should hide for now. I'll do my best to contact my family and offer some protection for you." Sylvia had a worried look when she said it.
Alisa was touched. She didn't expect this naïve woman to trust her wholeheartedly in just a span of a few days after meeting her. Wasn't she afraid that Alisa was scamming her? Still, she was right. That sinister aura of Steve hidden behind his cowardly expression when he left the third floor hinted that he definitely won't let it go. But who could even do something to her? She was the greatest assassin in the world. No one would be able to defeat her in a one-on-one fight. Even if Steve would bring out hundreds of men to capture her, they won't be able to do anything to her.
Alisa shook her head. "That won't be necessary. I'll be fine. Trust in your capable business partner."
"What did you just say?"
"Hm? Business partners?" Alisa tilted her head.
Sylvia's eyes lit up and shouted excitedly. "Yes! That's the one. So, you're going to agree with my proposal, right?"
She nodded with a smile. Their deal was wrapped up and they planned on starting their company as soon as they could find a suitable place for it. Sylvia had limited budget for now since most of her credit cards were frozen by her father, leaving only her secret savings that amounted to around thirty million lux. Alisa still had around twenty million lux and both of them decided to inject a twenty million lux capital from their own savings. It wasn't that bad at all.
When it was the time for them to go their separate ways, Alisa didn't forget to ask her something. "How about you visit my place some time? I could give you a spare key so you won't have to wait outside whenever I am not there."
"Really? Where are you staying, Miss Hayworth?"
"Golden Pavilion Gardens. Just look for the house near the lake. And also, please drop the formalities. Just call me Alisa. Didn't you just treat me as your friend? What kind of a friend calls each other with their surnames? I'm going to beat you." She pretended to pout which looked quite cute.
Sylvia giggled at her playful remark. "In that case, I'll allow you to call me Syl. Only a few can call me that. You should be honored."
"Whatever. I can't trouble myself into dealing with that smug face of yours. See you later, Syl."
"Wait!" Sylvia stopped her before she could get inside the vehicle which made her raise an eyebrow. Sylvia then continued, "In commemoration to our successful partnership and the start of a blossoming friendship, how about we go celebrate?"
"You're so silly. Didn't we just celebrate a while ago?"
"Dummy, that's a business meal. This one is separate. Let's go to a bar!" Sylvia's cheerful voice echoed out loud as she took Alisa's hand with a grin.
The latter sighed in defeat. "Alright. Sometimes I don't get what you business folks are thinking. Lead the way."
The two of them rode their own vehicles and left the place together, with Sylvia driving her Mercedes Benz ahead of her. As Alisa was busy steering the wheel, a black car was slowly driving behind her just a distance away from her car. She didn't notice that she was being tailed. She was humming her usual song while thinking of her successful deal earlier and the bonds she had formed with her first business partner.
Inside the black car, Steve was staring at the McLaren F1 with burning hatred followed by a sinister smile. "Since you dared to humiliate me, I'll make your life a living hell, bitch!"
"What are we going to do about her, boss?" His subordinate, who was driving the car, asked.
"Just follow her for now. Let's see where she's planning to go first."
He took out a suitcase and opened it, revealing a syringe with a bright pink liquid inside. Alisa was clueless to the things that would happen to her later as Steve carefully laid out his plans on drugging her with a potent aphrodisiac that could even knock out a martial arts master.
