Chapter 134: The T4 Galactic Star Gate
After reviewing the mecha designs, Feng Mo turned his attention to the T4 Galactic Star Gate blueprint. Finally, he had his own star gate design, even if it was still just a blueprint. This was a significant milestone for him.
While Feng Mo could request a T4-level star gate from the Federation—and even T5 in the future as his status increased—the ownership would never truly be his. The Federation would deploy a fleet to permanently guard any gate they constructed, a condition that Feng Mo found irksome. However, with his own star gate now, he could independently link the Tianjing and Beast Roar Systems.
This particular star gate offered substantial advantages. It could facilitate cross-region teleportation, enabling direct travel from Tianjing to Storm System, a feature usually only available to major imperial star gates. Previously, a journey to another empire required complex transfers through multiple star gates, as Feng Mo experienced during his escort mission from the Yunshan Empire to the Auckland Empire.
With this new gate, travel across the entire Federation could become seamless—at least one way. Returning would still require traditional routes if the destination gate lacked cross-region capability.
Additionally, construction of the T4 Galactic Star Gate would be remarkably faster, taking only about six months. Federation gates took over a year to build, and Feng Mo's Storm System gate had taken two years, while the Hurricane System gate still took over a year despite expedited efforts.
The Storm Fleet spent six hours cleaning the battlefield, extinguishing the fires at Beast Roar's starport, and securing the area. Feng Mo left a single T4 Scorpion frigate on patrol while the rest of the fleet returned home with their bountiful spoils. He planned to work with Alisa to quickly establish the new star gate in the Tianjing System and expand his fleet with the newly acquired resources.
After docking, Feng Mo immediately took a star cruiser to the technical engineering division headquarters. Once inside, he took the elevator directly to the top floor—Alisa's workspace, which also served as her living quarters. Essentially, she had converted the top floor into an expansive, multifunctional space, complete with living amenities, embracing her "homebody" lifestyle.
Feng Mo walked into Alisa's office unannounced. The robots knew better than to stop him, as his presence was unquestioned anywhere in his territories. Alisa was so engrossed in her research on the T4 Titanium Steel-class star mecha that she didn't even notice him. She was working on converting the blueprint into a quasi-T5 design, which would take time.
It wasn't until Feng Mo's shadow blocked the sunlight streaming through the room that she looked up, slightly dazed. Realizing it was him, she blushed and shyly said, "Congratulations on your triumphant return, Commander."
Feng Mo nodded. "I happened upon a T4 Galactic Star Gate design. Now that we've secured the Tianjing and Beast Roar Systems, both systems will need their own gates. I need you to deploy an industrial fleet to begin construction in the Tianjing System immediately."
Alisa's face scrunched up with a hint of frustration. "Commander, we're short on personnel. Currently, we have only two industrial fleets, and one of them isn't even at full capacity. Building more star industry ships is feasible, but you'll need to provide the engineering division with more qualified personnel."
Feng Mo felt a bit embarrassed. Talent shortages were a recurring problem in this rapidly expanding territory. Although he'd already arranged three waves of personnel from the Xiangyun Star, the needs still far outpaced the supply.
"Alright, I'll arrange another group from Xiangyun and give you the list to choose from first."
Upon hearing this, Alisa's expression shifted from gloomy to cheerful, and she eagerly nodded. Feng Mo patted her head lightly, passed the star gate blueprint to her, and then turned to leave.
In the Tianjing System, Feng Mo planned to keep population migration minimal. Among the four habitable planets in the system, he would name the one closest to the white hole "White River." He planned to station significant support personnel here to provide logistics for the White Hole Defense Fleet.
Back in his office, Feng Mo began drafting his plans for the Beast Roar System. He envisioned transforming it into an experimental region, establishing a biological research lab on Beast Roar's main planet, constructing three massive space stations for defensive coverage, and setting up a radar network to ensure full surveillance. All incoming and outgoing vessels would require identification and undergo inspections. This system would become his secretive stronghold.
However, he didn't currently have the space station blueprints he needed. Fortunately, the Spark System store offered designs for space stations and star fortresses, but they were costly. A T3 space station design alone cost 5,000 points—within Feng Mo's budget, though he wanted to reserve his points for his first T5-class starship.
Since he had connections, Feng Mo shamelessly decided to leverage them and called Yun Jian for assistance. The time wasn't right to disclose his recent conquests in Tianjing and Beast Roar; he'd wait until he had a T5-class starship before revealing those plans.
"Yun Jian, I need blueprints for a space station. Could the Chu family help source one? Let Alisa know the cost, and she'll transfer the funds."
On the other end, Chu Yunjian readily agreed. "The Chu family has T3-class space station blueprints in our archive. I'll send them to you shortly. Don't worry about the funds. Just promise me you'll come to the Radiance System and spend seven days with me."
Yun Jian's playful tone and coy expression stirred Feng Mo's blood, but he managed to keep his composure.
"The Storm Fleet also discovered and destroyed a New Human Church branch, yielding thirteen star seeds—seven T2s, two T3s, one T4, and three unidentified. I'll be heading to the Radiance System soon to consult with Professor Luo."
Yun Jian smiled slyly and said, "Alright. I'll arrange a meeting with Uncle Luo. And don't think of running off too soon this time!"
After ending the call, Chu Yunjian transferred the T3-class space station design from the Chu family's archives, which Feng Mo forwarded directly to Alisa.
