From ancient times, goddesses have never lacked admirers willing to do anything for them.
In this generation of the Tianqi Empire's Qiao family, there were twin sisters. Known for their identical appearances and their shared telepathic bond, they showed great talent in commanding starships and had earned the title of T4 Fleet Commanders of the Empire at a young age. They were affectionately called the "Qiao Family's Twin Pearls" by the public.
Youthful, beautiful, and twins with telepathic abilities—the sisters had every buff imaginable, attracting suitors from powerful families far and wide.
One such suitor was Bai Muli, the second young master of the Bai family, a marquis household with considerable influence in the Snow Eagle Empire. He was an ardent admirer of the Qiao sisters.
Today, an unexpected guest arrived on Storm Planet and sat opposite Feng Mo in his office: Bai Muli himself, the second young master of the Bai family.
Bai Muli's face was flushed with anger, his eyes practically shooting flames at Feng Mo. The reason for his fury? He had arrived unannounced, and before his fleet even got close to Storm Planet, the planetary defense system had issued a stern warning.
Being a privileged young master born with a silver spoon, Bai Muli had ignored the warning and ordered his fleet to press forward. In response, the T3 planetary defense system, along with the stationed Storm Unit, wasted no time firing upon them. If it weren't for the eight T3 ships in his fleet with fully charged energy shields and Bai Muli finally revealing his identity, he might have lost several ships.
The incident had shocked Bai Muli, as his family's fleet was considered one of the best among the noble households. Yet, the Storm Planet's defense system and Feng Mo's T3 ships had easily humbled him.
And now, here he was, forced to sit alone in Feng Mo's office without even a bodyguard, a humiliation he found hard to swallow.
Feng Mo wasn't pleased either. What right did Bai Muli have to try to force his way onto Storm Planet without permission? The sheer arrogance! Since Bai Muli entered the office, Feng Mo had not spoken a word, only glaring at him with a cold, murderous look.
Unable to withstand Feng Mo's intense gaze, Bai Muli pretended to be thirsty, taking a small sip of tea before speaking. "Viscount Feng Mo, I apologize for visiting so abruptly and for my discourtesy. I came to ask if your Stormcloud Starship Trading Company is in need of more shareholders.
"The Bai family is a significant power in the Snow Eagle Empire. If we join forces, we could open up the Snow Eagle Empire's market for your starships. It's a massive opportunity, and I'm not asking for much—just a 25% share of your company."
Bai Muli's tone was carefree, but his eyes were full of cunning. Feng Mo quickly grasped his true intentions. This wasn't a sincere business proposal; Bai Muli seemed intent on provoking him.
Feng Mo smiled coldly. "Young Master Bai, you must be joking. I'm just a minor shareholder in Stormcloud Starship Trading. The major shareholders are the Tianqi Yue and Huiguang Chu families. Without their agreement, I couldn't possibly sell any shares."
With that, Feng Mo picked up his teacup but didn't drink, making it clear he was ready for Bai Muli to leave. Laika, who stood nearby, stepped forward to escort him out when Bai Muli said, "Wait, don't be so quick to throw me out. Your Storm Star System doesn't have a stargate yet, does it? And you're quite close to the Snow Eagle Empire. A 25% stake is a small price to pay for some peace of mind, wouldn't you say, Viscount Feng Mo?"
He deliberately emphasized the last four words, making his threat clear. The mention of the Qiao sisters finally helped Feng Mo understand. Bai Muli wasn't here to negotiate; he was here to settle a personal grudge, all for the sake of his goddesses.
The young master probably thought that seizing a stake in Feng Mo's company would win him favor with the Qiao sisters. And he'd likely been trying to provoke Feng Mo into creating a scene. If it was a fight he wanted, Feng Mo was happy to oblige.
"Laixi," Feng Mo called, "tell Tianyi Uncle to come here and alert Ai Er. From now on, don't let fools like this through the gates. If they show up, just blow them up in space."
"Understood!" Laixi acknowledged and left the office. Laika, standing ready with her hands on her dual short swords, looked poised to strike. If Bai Muli made a single wrong move, those blades would be at his throat.
One minute later, Feng Tianyi entered with the mech squad, marching in unison. He gave a slight bow. "My lord."
Feng Mo nodded. "Uncle Tianyi, please escort Young Master Bai to the spaceport. And let Ai Er know: if the Bai fleet makes any sudden moves, keep them here. We could use more laborers for our city construction projects."
The mention of using his men as labor slaves caused Bai Muli's cunning expression to vanish, replaced with rage. No one had ever humiliated him like this. He represented the Bai family—did Feng Mo really want to declare war on them?
His anger erupted as he slammed a hand on the table. "How dare a mere imperial viscount like you insult the Bai family of the Snow Eagle Empire? Do you even—"
"I don't," Feng Mo interrupted dismissively.
Before Bai Muli could finish his threat, Feng Tianyi grabbed him by the neck, effortlessly lifting him. Feng Tianyi nodded to Feng Mo and left the office, carrying the choking Bai Muli. To silence any more threats, he pulled a metal gag from his uniform and strapped it over Bai Muli's mouth.
Bai Muli was now a pitiful sight, barely able to make muffled protests, seething with humiliation.
For Feng Mo, this incident was just a minor distraction. The development of the star system was his priority, as was dealing with the elves and Bisi Tribe. Playing petty games with Bai Muli was a waste of time. If he wanted to play, Feng Mo would rather face his father.
A short while later, Feng Tianyi returned. "My lord, it's done. But that kid was yelling that he'll make you pay. He doesn't seem like the type to let this go."
Feng Mo agreed. Bai Muli was trouble, the kind to stir up issues from the shadows. "Laika, inform Ai Er to use the Yunshan Trading Company's intelligence network to monitor Bai Muli's movements closely. And double the fleet's patrols."
"Understood!"
After they left, Feng Mo still felt uneasy. He opened his terminal and sent a message to Yue Xiaomeng, asking for full reports on the Qiao and Bai families.
Meanwhile, outside Storm Planet, Bai Muli furiously whipped a grotesque alien creature, cursing Feng Mo under his breath. Finally exhausted, he handed the whip to his adjutant. "Change course to FM001 Resource Planet. Feng Mo won't expect this. If I can't ge
t back at him directly, at least I'll make his life miserable."
