Chapter 23 - Fiasco -Part 2

The servants had heard that Tessa had been the lucky one to be chosen by the king, to be his bride. However, he didn't mark her that night and had sent her back. Was he here to take her??

Well, that was great news. At least, the evil brat would be out of their problems once she was gone. Tessa had thrown a bratty tantrum for a whole week after she got rejected by the king, making their lives even more miserable.

Alpha Jederek knew the king was coming to visit his pack house today, he had received a letter yesterday. He knew the king was coming to claim Tessa, and he couldn't be more happy. Including his wife, she was more than happy. But then she remembered the incident that happened at the party. If the king saw that girl again, she could ruin everything. What a cursed soul!

That was why she had no choice but to keep Lily away from sight and hide her in her room. Tessa must go with the king today!

Tessa, the lucky she-wolf, was bloody excited. She had thought that after that night, the king was irritated by her. But she had never thought that he would visit their house personally just to claim her as his!

The family was already at the entrance as soon as they heard the noise of a carriages and horses. The gates opened, and royal carriages came in along with many guards and horses. It was royalty indeed.

The family was on all grins as they waited for the king to step down from the carriage. And when he did, they held their breaths.

King Torak gently brought his feet to the ground of the household and glanced at them. He looked almost displeased to see them.

Alpha Jederek quickly bowed his head, along with his family. "Your majesty. It is a pleasure to have you visit the Blue-moon pack and our humble abode, we are truly honored."

Torak leisurely glanced at him, humming "hmm."

"Please come in," he said as they escorted him inside the house.

"We hope the journey wasn't too stressful for his maj-"

"Save your breath. I am not here for worthless dialogue, I am here for the girl." The king declared.

Alpha Jederek paused and looked at the king who was staring at him so coldly, silently warning him that if he were to offend him just the slightest, his head would be rolling down this hall.

He gulped, before smiling as he stretched his hand to Tessa, urging her to come closer. Tessa, who was frozen, just busy admiring the king, snapped out of it and quickly answered her father.

"We could not express our gratitude enough for such honor you have bestowed upon us, your majesty. For taking my youngest daughter Tessa, as your bride," he smiled.

Torak glanced down at the girl who nervously smiled at him, tucking a few strands of her hair behind her ear.

He looked back at the Alpha again, and his wife who were both giving him a smile that irritated his guts.

He lifted a brow. "Is this a joke?"

The smiles on their faces died the instant the king spoke. They immediately began sweating, not understanding what he meant by that one bit.

Torak stared at them and slightly tilted his head, smirking viciously. "I am certain I haven't lost my sense of humor yet," he mused.

Their faces went pale. "W-We aren't trying to make you laugh, my king-"

"But isn't it funny?" his smile broadened and it was terrifying, as he glanced at the girl beneath his face, permitting her to see the irritation crystal clear in his eyes. Tessa felt shivers in her bones and in an instant, she began trembling.

"You claim to be honored and grateful, yet you bring before me a nuisance?"

They all looked horrified instantly. Especially Valerie, who began silently praying that it isn't what she thinks it is.

Torak glared at them, "I'll have you know, that it took all of my patience to step on such lowly ground and be surrounded by nitwit peasants. Perhaps, you wouldn't mind having your heads roll down this hall as entertainment?"

They all gulped as death warmed up on their faces. They could begin to see all of their lives flash before their eyes already.

Jederek quickly sported a weak smile,

"y-your majesty. Please, we beg for your forgiveness. We didn't mean to-"

"I'll ask you one more time. Where is the girl?" the terrifying smile had disappeared from Torak's face, yet he looked even more deadly without emotions.

Their eyes flew wide as they instantly knew who he was referring to, who else? If not that evil, cursed girl!

Luna Valerie could feel her insides boil in anger and rage, she glared hard at her husband seeing as it was all his fault. He shouldn't have let the girl live and could have just let her die in the cell. But no…. Because of his stupid obsession with the girl, he wanted her to live!

Alpha Jederek met his mate's glare and nervously turned to the king again, who was now leisurely glancing around the room with a scowl on his face of being irritated.

Alpha Jederek tried to speak again. "Y-Your majesty, apart from my two daughters here, we don't have another-"

"Quiet. Even your voice irks me," Torak glanced at him coldly, having him immediately shut his mouth.

The prime minister then turned to the guards and ordered, "search the whole house."

As the guards left to search the house, Torak faced the family and smiled, that sadistic smile on his face again. Was this the madness of the king that the people talked about? This was beyond terrifying!

"My, I'm i suddenly in the mood for games…" his smile pulled wider. "Let us play, shall we?"

Their faces had grown so cold. Death was now right in front of them, beaming at them devilishly.

"If those guards magically happen to find the girl, I'll reward you," Torak said casually. They were confused. Reward? They didn't understand..

"If not, there will be trouble." He stated clearly.

They were speechless now. They didn't even know if they should pray the guards find the girl or pray they don't. They were right in between afterlife and earth.

But Luna Valerie was silently praying they didn't find the girl! It seemed she really didn't care about her own life to be thinking about the downfall of another, when death was right there playing a game with them.
