Chapter 29 - Tea Time!

Doric was blown away. Now that he had time to study the buildings he could appreciate them. He saw how intricately carved they were and how the runes carved into the stone accented the stone as if it was meant to be a part of it instead of added on afterward.

He cast his monocle spell but the symbols and tags were way too intricate for him to make out on these. It caused him to get a headache just looking at everything. They continued to walk deeper into the city when Felchio stopped them.

"We have made it to my home." He moved to the side to let everyone take in the beauty of his home. It was a large structure that looked like it housed dozens of rooms. Multiple rooms held smoke that seemed to come out of the windows and into what looked like vents to Doric.

Impressed, Doric studied the architecture further and saw a few more modern features implemented in the dwarven buildings. Glass that looked sturdy and metal pipes build into the stone that helped with moving water and gas.

"Wow, this place is amazing," he said as he kept looking around him. Felchio could tell he actually admired the simpler things and appreciated his curiosity. He opened the door to his house and it smelled like cinnamon inside. They entered one at a time and saw a mat on the floor with a few boots lying on top.

Doric could not help but think of home when he saw the mat. "Everything here seems so advanced compared to where we have been. Who taught you all of this?" He questioned as he watched everyone take their shoes off.

"It was a traveling human. Someone who possessed knowledge far beyond his years. He helped up go from simple smithing to advanced technology that was 100s of years ahead of everyone."

It got Doric thinking. Perhaps he was not one of the only people to reincarnate here. Maybe an engineering student or something. The fact that they had this kind of technology could not have been a coincidence. He nodded as he heard Felchio's answer. "Interesting, Where I come from technology like this is fairly common. But to see it here really brings back memories."

The dwarf continued moving everyone to the living room where an incense was burning. Everyone sat down and the dwarf extended his hand out to everyone. "Would anyone like some tea or coffee?"

The only one here who even knew what coffee was, was Doric. "If only I had a body to enjoy the coffee with I would accept it!"

Doric shook his head. "Nyssa, our dark elf friend needs medical treatment, Please."

The dwarf smiled and rushed to the kitchen. Doric could not help but peer in to see what it looked like. It was an almost replica of what a kitchen looked like in his house. A stove, a sink, what looked like a fridge. And other kitchen equipment. Felchio smirked as he made tea. He saw Doric watching him and without looking just responded.

"So you have seen this stuff before haven't you?"

Nodding, Doric reminisced his old life. The fact he could see this stuff again made him want to stay here and live a comfortable life with the dwarves. But he knew that was probably not going to be possible.

"So you must have come from the same place as the legendary crafter. That is amazing. What kinds of things can you teach us?" Felchio laughed as he finished brewing the tea. He came out with a plate that held three of them. He placed one in front of each of the girls and one in front of his seat.

Sitting down he took a deep breath in and paused for a moment. Looking to the group he started. "Thank you for your help back there. The Cordos have been a problem lately for us and the above ground is almost uninhabitable because of them."

Doric looked nervous as Nyssa was still lying on the couch with the seed in her leg. The dwarf did not seem like he was doing anything to help her. He began to speak out but the dwarf raised his hand and the sound of a doorbell rang.

"She's here, good." Was all he said as he walked to the front door. Another dwarf this one female entered the room she was dressed in priestly robes and held a book in her hand. She walked over to Nyssa and looked her over.

"This is pretty bad, the Cordo seed is in there pretty deep but the poison seems to be halted for now."

Felchio smiled and nodded along with her assessment. "She can be saved though right?"

"For the right price, I can save the dead." the strange dwarven lady said with a slight chuckle.

"Of course, name your price. I owe these guys my life." he responded waving his hand for her to hurry up.

She sat down by Nyssa and pulled out a large and long tool. It looked painful like a giant needle almost. He put it on the tip of the seed and began pushing it through covering the seed and removing the barbs from the skin in one fell push.

Once it was fully inserted she quickly pulled it out and placed a small rune on the wound. It began to glow a bright yellow color and the wound was cauterized. Nyssa cried out in a weak moan as the procedure was done and then went to breathing a little easier.

"Do any of you have any healing potions? She is going to need to be administered one every hour until her leg heals." The woman stated as she stood up. "I can't believe I am helping a dark elf. Felchio, my reward is 100 gold coins, and a reason why only half of you came back from your mission."

"Of course, Meldrid. I will have it sent to your house right away as for the story. Give me time to tend to my guests and I will indulge you tonight." He looked back to his guests. "Tea's cooled off and is ready to drink.
