Facing two creatures, the girl was not in a predicament; rather, she was gradually overpowering them. What caught Alex's attention was that she hadn't utilized any of the basic contracts; instead, she was manipulating the earth around her and using several iron rods as makeshift spears.
"This seems like a form of telekinesis, but its range appears somewhat limited," he thought.
The girl was gaining the upper hand against the creatures, and it seemed one of them had sustained serious injuries from a metal rod that had pierced its abdomen. Just as she prepared to deliver a fatal blow, a creature resembling a tiger with a serpent's head covered in scales emerged behind her, several meters away. Suddenly, its long neck shot forward at a surprising speed, launching itself towards the girl. It seemed she sensed the incoming attack, but as she attempted to retreat, the two creatures lunged at her with all their might.
As the snake's head drew close, despair washed over her; she could not manage both creatures at once while defending against the impending strike. Just three meters away, a young man appeared out of nowhere, clad in a plain shirt and white athletic pants. In his hand was a red sword that seemed to be forged from blood, swinging it with such force that the air trembled around him. The snake's head and the creature's scaled defenses were no match for the blade, which sliced through easily, causing it to fall lifelessly to the ground.
Alex looked down at the severed serpent head before glancing at the sword in his hand, crafted from the blood of the orc.
"With blood manipulation, I can harden this sword to a solidity comparable to metal," he mused.
He turned to the girl, who had managed to eliminate one of the creatures after their hasty attack had left them severely wounded. Now, they could no longer continue their fight. Alex dashed toward the last injured creature, and with a swift swing of his sword, he cleaved it in two.
"Poor defense; it seems it specialized in lethal attacks and speed," he noted.
The girl looked at Alex and the sword he wielded with great curiosity.
"Thank you! You saved my life," she said, gazing at the young man before her. He appeared of average height, but his speed and strength, coupled with the strange blood sword, intrigued her immensely.
"No need to thank me; after all, we're all human," he replied modestly.
A smile lit up the girl's face, her fair skin complementing her beautiful smile.
"My name is Eva; I owe you my life."
It seemed the street fighting had come to an end, as all threats had been eliminated. They now stood amidst the wreckage of the road, conversing.
"My name is Alexander. You can call me Alex," he said, studying her closely. She looked very beautiful, with her pale skin, brown eyes, and black hair. Especially in her white dress, amid the bloodshed all around, she appeared like an angel in the midst of hell.
"What's your goal now, Alex?" Eva asked, her gaze fixed on the young man before her. She hoped to form a team. In these circumstances, no one could know how many creatures there were or how powerful they might be. Teaming up with someone strong would be the optimal choice against potentially more formidable foes.
"I'm heading to the campus. I have a friend there that I need to see," he replied.
Alex sensed Eva's intentions but didn't mind. Her abilities and strength could assist him in various situations.
Eva's eyes sparkled with excitement as she said, "Great! I'm also headed to the campus; we can go together!"
As soon as she said this, she immediately regretted it, realizing she had been overly enthusiastic. A blush crept onto her cheeks, but Alex didn't mind; it was nice to find a companion in this world.
"Okay, let's go right away."
Alex gathered the blood around him, forming a circular platform with a diameter of three meters.
"Let's move! If we go on foot, we'll encounter many obstacles ahead."
After saying this, he jumped onto the platform, which had solidified. Eva looked at the platform and then followed him. The platform began to rise immediately, and after reaching a height of thirty meters above the ground, it started moving toward the direction of the campus.
