Every day, I drag myself into the office like a zombie. Dark circles under my eyes, black hair matted down in a permanent bedhead, and brown eyes that have lost their will to shine.
I sat at the breakroom and sipped on my 10th cup of coffee this morning. I never knew what went wrong.
My name is Minho, and I'm a 26-year-old office worker. I used to be a great student in school, always ranked first in everything
I even had a group of friends that I always hung out with after school. And the best part was, I had a cute girlfriend who loved me.
Nothing could go wrong, right? Well, it did.
The dark turn came in my last year of high school when both my parents got into a car accident, leaving me an only child. I tried seeking help from my close friends and people who were like family to me, but they all turned their backs on me.
It was funny to think that the people my family had helped in the past had now turned their backs on us in our time of need.
I was all alone and struggling to cope with the loss of my parents.
I had to drop out of college and start working in a small convenience store to pay off all the debt and rent my family had left behind.
I moved into a small apartment the size of a closet and worked my ass off every day.
But things changed when I finally got a job as an office worker. Little did I know, it was another hell for me.
I was known as the pushover, always taken advantage of by my colleagues. And my boss was a nightmare, constantly making me redo my work and forcing me to work overnight.
But in this tiring life, there were always things that kept me going. One of them was my love for novels and games. And today, the new chapter of my favorite novel was coming out. I couldn't wait to read it.
'According to the author, it was supposed to be the last chapter.'
As I looked at the time on the wall, 00:22, I realized it was already midnight. I had completely lost track of time.
'It's about time I go home,'
I thought to myself as I quickly packed up my things and left the office, eager to escape the pile of unfinished paperwork.
As I stood at the crosswalk, waiting for the light to turn green, I couldn't resist the urge to check my phone. I scrolled through my notifications, I couldn't help but notice how quiet it was.
No cars, no people, just the faint sound of the the cars from a far. Feeling confident that I could make it across the street, I quickly crossed before the light changed. But just as I reached the other side, I heard the loud screeching of tires and the blaring horn of a truck.
I turned to see the massive vehicle hurtling towards me, and everything went black
'wtf, I swear that truck was not there
