TWO DAYS BEFORE THE SPEECH
THE MORNING OF THAT FRIDAY had a different air from the others. She remembered that it was the last day of work of the week. People were more excited, anxious to say goodbye at the end of the day.
New York was bustling and Greg always had a sixth sense when something was going to happen.
The music and news radio stations relieved the tension of those stuck in New York traffic, the most distressing part of the workday. The radio hosts cheerfully announced the morning news, weather forecasts and reminded people that rest was near.
Even the chaotic traffic in the city on Fridays was less excruciating, but that Friday, however, things would be different.
A VAN STOPPED NEAR the entrance of an office building. A uniformed man quickly got out and walked to the reception.
— Good morning, sir — he said to the doorman, who replied:
— Good morning.
— I need to deliver this material to the fifth floor, can you tell me the delivery entrance?
— Yes, yes, it's that way. — he said, pointing the way to the delivery entrance.
— Thank you.
The delivery man got back into the vehicle and put it out of park to accelerate; he was going to use the correct entrance.
After that, everything will go up in smoke...
THE VAN RISES TWO METERS with the explosion and falls to pieces. The entire glass facade of the building was destroyed across five floors. The tremor was felt by many throughout the block and the thunderous sound spread for kilometers.
Blood mixed with the delivery material, revealing the dead and injured bodies. People nearby tried to help, but they were unable to provide the necessary assistance to everyone. Within minutes, there was an entire rescue team and police officers around the place.
After the most urgent measures were taken, a count of nine dead and seventeen injured was made. Crying and revolt marked that Friday.
