Chapter - 9: Quincy Fullbring

---------

It was night when I reached my usual secluded spot in the woods, by the edge of a small river. The sound of the flowing water was the only company in the stillness of the night.

I sighed again, this time from the frustration that gripped my chest as I looked at the destruction before me, as if a storm had struck the trees in front of me.

Once again, I had failed in trying to improve my control over Saber's Noble Phantasm. Contrary to what many might think, I knew that Invisible Air wasn't just limited to concealing Excalibur.

It could be used in much more versatile ways, such as creating a protective barrier around me, a wall of wind capable of deflecting attacks and repelling enemies.

With enough magical energy, I could maintain it active not just for a few minutes, but even for hours, making it an incredibly effective defensive weapon as well.

In Fate/hollow ataraxia, Saber had even managed to envelop the Central Building in an unbreakable illusion, making it invisible except for the entrance door.

I remembered that she had also managed to release the barrier in the form of an air arrow, using it to envelop and protect the body of her Yamaha motorcycle.

However, for me, replicating something like that seemed far from simple, especially when it came to using it defensively.

Invisible Air was considered little more than a wind Noble Phantasm, but when combined with the Mana Burst ability, it greatly enhanced agility and even allowed for superhuman jumps.

Using all the accumulated wind in one blow, Saber was able to unleash Strike Air, a wide-range attack that mowed down enemies with piercing force, capable of taking down anything in its path.

As for me, I was trying to replicate Artoria Lancer's technique, designed to overwhelm and annihilate everything in its trajectory, something akin to Shunkō, but I knew it wouldn't be easy.

The difficulty didn't only lie in the raw power to be exerted, but also in being able to control and focus it into an attack that wasn't just devastating, but also precise and targeted.

In the end, I tried to use the Rokushiki from the One Piece world, more specifically Soru, but I couldn't manage it. But at least I managed to use a sort of "Flash Step," moving faster than the eye could see and all the rest, though that was due to my physical strength.

Apparently, Soru works by kicking the ground ten times in an instant, allowing you to propel yourself at a speed much greater than normal. I wondered if it would be possible to combine its techniques for an even greater effect.

"I thought that, having an anime body, I would be able to use it without much trouble, even though Whitebeard doesn't know Rokushiki. After all, it's a martial art... But it seems like it will take me more than a few hours," I reflected.

I don't want to master all the Rokushiki techniques, but Soru and Geppo could really be useful. "Maybe I need to bring my template to Th 5..." I can only make some guesses, without making any further steps forward.

The real dilemma is whether it's worth continuing to invest time in learning it. After all, time is precious to me. It might be better to postpone it and try again in a few months.

In any case, I was here for another reason. "Finally, it's the moment of truth," I said, pulling a cross out of my pocket.

Honestly, I didn't know what to expect from my Fullbring. In the canon series, Ichigo's desire was to regain his Soul Reaper powers, and through the use of his Substitute Shinigami Badge as a focusing object, Ichigo was able to manifest an armor that enhanced his combat abilities.

Later, he regained his Shinigami powers, merging them with his Fullbring ability. However, his abilities were not entirely clear: it was only known that he carried his power with him, or at least what remained of it after using the Saigou Getshua Tesho.

For this reason, the situation seemed simple and even uncomplicated, to the point that he hadn't even named his Fullbring...

In this universe, where the names of techniques were considered synonymous with power, that detail could have proven crucial. For him, though, it seemed to matter not at all, being completely ignored.

But for me, things were different.

I had a single goal: to express my true potential. I knew that the key to doing so lay in my Quincy side, that part of me that had always been set aside, but paradoxically, held the greatest untapped potential.

"I've been waiting for this moment," I murmured, convinced that it was the right step. "And I think this might be the perfect catalyst for my Fullbring. And if it doesn't work, at least I'll have the opportunity to learn new Quincy abilities."

With the help of the solid narrative foundation currently serving as the core for this world, my power was evolving quite smoothly, but it would still take months before it was fully developed.

It was time to put it to the test.

I focused on the object, trying to manipulate the soul inside it and the Reishi that had accumulated over the years of use by my mother.

A second later, the black and blue Reishi exploded from the cross, enveloping my body. In my hand, I no longer held just a Quincy cross, but a familiar black shortbow, an hankyu, which materialized between my fingers.

It automatically closed around a solid object, as if it had always existed, as if it had always been there, ready to be summoned, like a natural extension of myself.

A smile escaped me as my heart pounded in my chest, overwhelmed by a sudden wave of fiery joy. I felt energy pulsing inside me, bubbling like a volcano ready to erupt.

It was a new sensation, electrifying, as if something dormant for far too long was finally waking up. I focused on that impulse and let myself go.

A sudden twist wrapped around my body, like a whirlwind of power condensing around me. I felt it grow, gripping me, as it solidified and surrounded me, like a second skin that perfectly adapted to my form.

My right arm had become something unnatural, or rather monstrous. It was no longer flesh and bone but seemed entirely forged from my Reiryoku, reminding me of a certain demonic arm.

The skin, blue and irregular, was crisscrossed with clear, glowing white veins, resembling cracks on a volcanic surface, hiding within it a devastating power ready to explode.

All I had to do was clench my hand to feel the strength pulse under my skin, an untamable energy that seemed ready to burst with violence, and I couldn't wait to test it out.

But that wasn't the most surprising part...

I turned slowly, my head turning to observe what was happening on my back. Large wings were forming, shining with a brilliant blue light.

I could clearly tell they were made of pure Reishi, and I could feel each feather as though they were almost alive, made up of sharp and jagged structures pulsating with power, with glowing veins running through their surface.

They extended majestically from my back, emitting a soft hum as the energy flowed through them, as if they were part of my very soul.

When their form completely stabilized, I slowly turned my gaze towards the nearest body of water. The reflection that stared back at me took my breath away.

I stared at it for a moment, sensing the energy emanating from it. Whatever it was, it wasn't there just to protect me. I dismissed the summoning of my Quincy bow, and as the Quincy Cross returned to its normal form, a sense of excitement washed over me.

"Wow…" That was the only word I could manage to say. I slowly raised my right arm, testing its movements. Despite the wings, my body responded effortlessly.

Then I tried to move my legs, lifting one foot and then the other. To my surprise, I found myself floating slightly above the ground, watching my wings move without even having to think about it.

Without stopping to reflect too much, I propelled myself forward. I slid through the air with surprising ease, landing softly without any effort. I could feel the power coursing through my veins, but at the same time, I had a feeling of complete control over my body and abilities.

Then, with a simple thought, I released the energy. In an instant, the armor and sword dissolved, vanishing into thin air. I stood still, my breath slightly quickened, as I tried to process what had just happened.

That power... was it really mine? A confident smile formed on my face. I couldn't wait to find out.

But first, I wanted to try something. Bringer Light was the Fullbringers' high-speed movement technique. It was their answer to the Quincy's Hirenkyaku, the Shinigami's Shunpo, and the Hollow's Sonido.

However, its application was completely different from theirs. In addition to their Fullbring itself, Fullbringers had access to just one ability: manipulating the souls that resided in objects and even in the air.

Bringer Light was used through multiple applications of that ability. Manipulating the souls of the wind behind the user to push them forward or around them to reduce resistance and allow the user to accelerate even more.

Manipulating the souls of the wind or anything beneath the user to create platforms to move forward. And manipulating the souls of the wind in front of the user to clear the path.

On paper, it sounded incredibly complicated. In practice, it wasn't so difficult. For the most part, it was purely instinctive—something I was quite good at.

Before testing myself, I decided to search for some Hollow to test my new power. I needed to understand how far I could push myself and if my current abilities were enough to survive a serious fight against the Gotei captains.

It didn't take long before I found a group of them, given my current speed, in the suburbs of the city, hungry and ready to tear apart anything that moved, or at least, I was definitely a delicious target for them.

Perfect.

A green light flared around my legs as I vanished from sight, dodging a wave of attacks. Spheres of energy and sharp claws tore through the air where I had been just a moment before, reducing the ground to rubble.

I found myself in a vast structure, surrounded by Hollow of the most varied shapes. Some had massive, beastly bodies, others were more slender and agile, but all shared the same murderous instinct towards me.

The roars of the Hollow echoed everywhere, the ground trembling under their footsteps as they moved like a horde, their empty eyes filled with hunger directed at me.

And they weren't the only problem.

A deeper, more powerful roar rose into the air. I landed outside the line of attack just in time to see a gigantic humanoid Hollow charge at me.

Truly, Karakura city was something special. It was the epicenter of a massive amount of spiritual energy that truly attracted an absurd quantity of Hollows, or rather, spiritual beings.

The colossal punch of the Hollow, at least five times my height, came crashing down with devastating force.

But it didn't hit me.

Literally.

My wings flared out, and with a single thought, I made them bend and twist, transforming them into a shield of pure energy. Their blue light intensified as they absorbed the impact, blocking the attack with astonishing strength.

The shockwave lifted dust and debris all around, but I remained still, unharmed. "Heh, really cool," a smile formed on my lips as I watched the beast retract its fist, confused.

I had just discovered a new way to use my power, and honestly, I didn't mind it one bit considering how much freedom this new Fullbring gave me in combat.

I turned my hand, and one of my wings responded, shifting form into a massive demonic hand, easily blocking the trajectory of the punch.

My other wing lifted with force, forming a whirlwind of air that spiraled into a violent vortex, slamming into the enormous humanoid Hollow and throwing it into the sky, higher and higher, until it disappeared into the distance.

It would be quite a painful fall, especially considering that I had manipulated the souls in the air to increase the pressure, making its landing much harsher.

I didn't have time to admire my work: the Hollow charged at me from all sides, howling and unleashing waves of dark energy in an attempt to tear me apart.

I clenched my hands, and my wings responded, glowing with an eerie light before inflating around me, creating a protective dome that repelled the attacks.

Then, I bent my hands again and the barrier exploded outward, sending a rain of razor-sharp feathers that forced the Hollow to retreat. My wings changed once more, transforming into two massive swords that crashed down on the group of Hollow around me, piercing them and reducing them to shreds.

"Ginjo and the others are idiots," I said to myself, watching what I was doing without even moving from my position.

Although Fullbring abilities varied from person to person, we were all dangerous under the right conditions. Thanks to our ability, we could control the forms of our abilities, adapting them to combat, and we could use a form of telekinesis to manipulate the surroundings.

Yet, even though they knew how to use their abilities, they hadn't really understood their true potential.

It was absolute foolishness.

Anyway, I didn't have time to bask in my abilities when I could sense dozens of Hollow, drawn to my presence, beginning to surround me.

"You're just overgrown insects." I shook my head, determined not to waste any more time, as I pumped a large portion of my reiryoku into my Fullbring to change its form once again.

My wings merged, fusing into a single structure, and began to deform into a massive bow. The power emanating from it was palpable, and I felt the tension build as the bow took shape.

With a fluid motion, I placed an energy arrow in the center, my target clear. "Heilig Pfeil!" I said, my attack resonating through the air. In an instant, a rain of arrows shot from the bow, one after another, like a storm of spiritual bullets.

The arrows flew fast, each infused with pure energy, continuously firing, striking the Hollow charging toward me.

The force of my attack seemed unstoppable, yet I continued to fire, bombarding the Hollow with a lethal shower of energy. Each time an arrow hit, the Hollow exploded in a wave of energy, reduced to dust before it could get any closer.

When the last Hollow fell to the ground, reduced to fragments of residual energy, the surrounding area remained silent for a moment. I took a deep breath, my body finally relaxed, but my heart continued to beat hard.

"Not bad at all," I thought, observing the result of my attack.

The power had been impressive, and the sense of control I had over it was unique... But now, the only thing left was to come up with a good name for my Fullbring.
