Chapter: 1: New Life!
--------------
A/N: First of all, the system I'm using is taken from "The Guild of Gamers: The Gambler " but it won't be that important to the actual story anyway.
This story will focus on magic, especially with the upcoming reboot of Winx Club, and honestly, I've noticed there aren't many good fanfictions in this universe, which gave me an extra push to write this story.
There will be numerous references to different forms of magic from various universes, with explanations provided to clarify everything. After all, as the title suggests, there will be plenty of invented stuff to make everything more interesting.
Additionally, the story will include numerous dark elements intertwined with mature and erotic scenes involving the Winx Club fairies, aiming to provide a scenario different from the usual kid's show.
The loading will be slow, but on the other hand, the chapters are very long.
-------------
Watching the dice roll in front of me, I curse my luck. Such a good D&D campaign ending like this, despite my Spiritualist character saving the day more than once.
A single Lich was enough to bring our team to its knees, and things went to hell much faster than I could salvage the situation.
Damn nerds who didn't know what to do...
If this game wasn't so damn fun, I wouldn't be here at two in the morning on my Discord server with enough coffee to rival an immortal wizard with relationship issues, desperately trying to finish this campaign once and for all.
I've actually been lucky with my initial rolls. I got one of the good starting items, and it's been fun playing. I've crafted my character carefully and deserved much more than to end up like this.
Yet, despite the good start, things quickly went downhill. Every decision seemed to lead to new problems...
I'm not blaming my comrades, but they could have done much more instead of leaving all the work to me, as if I were a bard capable of solving all the problems they created with their stupidity.
With a sigh, I check my wallet to order a good pizza to soothe my failure, but find it empty. It's a tangible reminder of my recent decision to quit my job.
I had reached a breaking point in my work with continuous exploitation by my boss, so I made the tough decision to leave that situation before it became too difficult to handle.
Luckily, I had some savings, thanks to a few successful investments, so worst-case scenario, I could dip into that checking my bank account.
I briefly calculate how long I can survive financially without finding a job, sighing as I've never been good at self-control, but my perseverance seems to finally pay off in some way.
But I decide to stop thinking about it and open up the D&D Fandom to see if there was any new interesting class I could use for an upcoming campaign that I had decided to take charge of.
Before I can use the mouse to click on something that caught my interest, the screen shifts to the center and words start appearing that give me a strange feeling I can't quite understand.
[Do you like Gacha?]
Eh?
"What the hell does that mean?"
There's no immediate place to respond, so I pause for a moment and ponder the question for a few seconds. Finally, I shrug, grab the keyboard, and type: "Yes."
As I hit enter, I wonder what this response might entail. Gacha games have always had a particular allure for me, a mix of excitement and frustration that can be engaging and exhausting at the same time.
The thrill of getting something rare, alternating with the disappointment of mediocre results, had a unique addiction that was hard to explain to someone who had never played.
But mostly I like them because I'm a greedy bastard. I like getting everything I can, and at least in these games, you're guaranteed to get something, even if it's not always useful. But I don't mind; as long as it keeps me hooked.
[Do you like your current life?]
Hm, could definitely be better.
But honestly, I couldn't complain. It could've been much worse since I had a good family and close friends to confide in without waiting for a backstab.
It was still damn boring and usually caused more trouble than it was worth. I always wanted to aim higher in my life, but unfortunately, I didn't succeed and accepted this limit of mine.
But this desire of mine never went away. It always remained there, waiting. I was just looking for an opportunity to prove myself, to show myself and others that I could live up to my aspirations.
[Would you like to leave this world for a more interesting one?]
Another very strange question, but I certainly wouldn't mind seeing another world, a more interesting one that would surely bring a lot of excitement.
I pause to reflect for a moment, letting the idea sink in. The thought of leaving behind this world, with all its annoyances and frustrations, for a place full of magic and adventures, makes me smile.
It couldn't be worse than this place...
Yes, I wouldn't mind seeing another world at all. In fact, there was something so comforting about a world that was much better than the sad and depressing reality I was in.
[Let your adventure begin]
The screen turns completely white, which catches me off guard for a second, but then I'm too busy focusing on the fact that tentacles are protruding from my computer screen, reminiscent of some horror movie.
My eyes widen in shock and confusion as the tentacles become more tangible and pull my entire body towards my computer and then inside it.
As I find myself floating in emptiness, I can only wonder one thing that could have clarified everything that was happening to me.
What the hell just happened?
[Congratulations, if you are reading this article then you are the lucky human to have received, the Gacha system, and for accepting my offer]
What.
Are you kidding me?
I didn't agree to anything...
[You, lucky player, have won the chance to be part of something great, don't die and try your best]
[Enjoy and pray that Lady Luck and RNGesus treat you well]
This is bullshit, right? Maybe I've been in front of the computer too long and I'm starting to have illusions, but despite my doubts, I know that this is real. I can feel something deep inside telling me that it's all true and that I should immediately accept it.
After all, I wasn't stupid, I knew how all this shit worked I had read enough Fanfction to know it, but it was still all over, and it certainly didn't look like a joke of some kind, but...
[Gacha system online]
[You have been granted three rolls, which are guaranteed to be uncommon or above. All rolls will synergize to increase your chances of obtaining the power needed to survive]
[You can get extra rolls by pulling a disadvantage, these rolls will also be at least uncommon and drawn from the same selection]
The information floods my mind, interrupting my thoughts as the knowledge of how to use my new system works enters my brain, which makes me feel a slight headache that luckily goes away fast enough.
I get rolls for making progress, in what? The answer is not long in coming to my mind, as long as I am doing something interesting I will gain progress towards my next roll, or I can complete the story of the world to gain more rolls in this way.
They are available in three categories: minor, major, and ultimate curses. It's still random what I get, which wasn't really a negative thing.
The real problem was the amount of pulls I get depends on the seriousness of the inconvenience, and natularly like a bad modern game I can't even choose something that would have helped me.
This is a risky proposal...
Well, as a gambling player first of all, I should at least see what I get with my free rolls. I hope something good since I didn't want to become another Kazuma or even Subaru.
Rolling.
Result: Magic Grimoire (Rare)
[Grimoire Fire Magic]
Source: Black Clover
In front of me, floating in the void, appears a brown tome. The grimoire has red covers, decorated at the edges with an intricate floral design and in the center with a three-leaf ornament arranged in the shape of a sun.
My mind raced as I tried to understand exactly what I had before me. A big smile spread across my lips when I realized what I had obtained.
That book will allow me to use magic, and in a way, I can say it's one of the most useful tomes I could come across for fire magic, as it allows me to generate and manipulate this element at will.
In addition, it documents my spells and evolves with me during the journey. And with the knowledge inside I can summon offensive spells that can destroy my enemies or even create protections for myself and my future allies.
But my mind is still focused on the simple fact that I have access to magic, which was really a good way to start since I've never been a good bare-knuckle fighter.
And then honestly which nerd has ever dreamed of casting spells and fighting a dragon? And then having the chance to save the princess and have the chance to screw her until she becomes a good slave.
[Your Magic Tomes will be kept in the Wanderer's Library dimension. In this way, they will be protected from any destruction or theft and will remain indecipherable to anyone who enters that dimension, except for you]
[The Serpent watches you with interest, fascinated by your commitment to expanding the knowledge of its dimension. If you continue on this path, it may even grant you the privilege of entering its library]
SCP? Better not to think about it, since I kept my mental sanity...
I can feel a connection to this dimension, deep in my mind, watching as the tome vanishes and in the library, shelves appear that seem endless, while I try to ignore the unsettling message in front of me.
It's where my tomes from the Gacha will go, and there's a lot of empty spaces waiting to be filled. I feel like there are many types of magic that are just waiting for me to get a tome of the right type.
Rolling.
Result: Uncommon Talent.
[Master in Special Forces Soldier: Adepto]
Source: Halo Alpha
[You have an incredible natural talent to automatically become someone with the same level of combat experience as Special Forces troops. At the same time, your control and knowledge of weapons grow exponentially.]
Okay, even if it's not as impressive as the magical Grimoire I had gotten, I certainly won't say no to being able to defend myself. I guess my preferences count for something. If I can choose, I'd prefer to have something that allows me to directly face threats.
However, who knows what other knowledge is hidden in there, given that the description I had was rather general and vague.
Rolling.
Result: Uncommon Item.
[Slaughter Demon]
Source: Jujutsu Kaisen
[This enchanted dagger is infused with cursed energy so potent that even those who do not practice sorcery arts might be able to use it to exorcise low-level spiritual entities]
As I watch the dagger hover in the void for a moment, as if it were about to plummet due to its excessive weight, I reach out and grasp it firmly. The cold blade under my fingers vibrates with a sinister energy as the dagger dissolves into golden particles.
But that's the issue with Gacha: even when it seems to work in my favor, it's actually playing against me. The rolls try to create synergies, to find matches between them, but in the end they force me into a perpetual search, dependent on what they can offer.
But it did create something that synergizes with my Special Forces combat ability, instead of something that could have been much more useful on the magical side...
Don't get me wrong, it was still very good. It wasn't a bad item to have at all, despite my slight disappointment. The system clearly hinted that I was heading into a relatively dangerous world.
I could be thrust into a fight for everything I know, which didn't give me much peace of mind. The idea of finding myself in an unknown place, not knowing what to expect and with the constant risk of encountering powerful enemies, made me feel vulnerable.
... So, what should I do? Do I draw a disadvantage to continue hoping to get something that's immediately useful in combat?
Rolling disadvantage.
Result: Major Disadvantage | Two Pulls granted.
[Inconvenience: Omega Dimension]
Source: Winx
[You have been imprisoned in one of the most feared and inaccessible prisons in the magical world. Over time, the reason for your incarceration has been forgotten; the only certainty is that you did something terrible in your insatiable desire for power in your universe. One day, this will be remembered]
[This inconvenience has altered your human body, making you something distinctly inhuman that would be more accurate to call alien]
An abrupt explosion of pain strikes me as my forehead begins to change, a pair of small flesh-colored horns sprout on my head, and red eyes surrounded by black marks appear, taking on a pale red hue.
The rest of my body isn't left alone either, as I grow quite a bit; I've always been small, and having my body shoot up to a meter and eighty doesn't seem like a disadvantage, beyond the pain as my bones deform to become much stronger than they should be.
All these changes make me twitch in pain as my upper part does not survive the development of my muscles, a mirror appears in the void to show me the changes I had undergone.
What stares back at me are not my eyes, but a dark shadow of pale ruby red, which looks quite intimidating.
I had to admit that I am fascinating with long raven black hair that looks unkempt, giving me a rough and wild air.
Why this fills me with a sense of nostalgia...
Oh yes, Winx Club...
Honestly, I have complicated feelings for this franchise. There is certainly nostalgia because it's one of my first fandoms and, being a rather distant fan given how much time has passed.
As a child, I loved magical action, but as I grew up, I recognized more and more flaws, some of which were probably harmful messages.
My biggest problem with Winx Club is that it's a huge case of wasted potential. Because, in my opinion, the setting itself, as a concept, is simply fantastic.
A mix of Sailor Moon, Harry Potter, and Star Wars. A place where fairies, witches, spaceships, dragons, and laser cannons collide. A vast galaxy where most planets are ruled by monarchies, each with distinct cultures and magics.
There's so much potential here. But the show absolutely wastes it. Despite all its flaws and not caring too much about continuity, the first three seasons felt like a true trilogy that mainly exploited the galaxy of opportunities at its disposal.
But I'll leave that detail aside for the moment since I was certainly more focused on my new form, for obvious and obvious reasons that I definitely didn't need to say.
It's from there that I remember the various aliens living in a certain universe. It is there that I think of a particular villain who was about to conquer supreme power, it is becoming the strongest existence without a shadow of a doubt.
Oh fuck, Ben10!
... I'm a fucking Osmosian, this is my first thought as I look at myself in the mirror, admiring my newly grown six-pack and my more beautiful face.
For a moment, I laugh at my luck. Sure, I'll probably stand out a lot, but becoming more beautiful isn't a disadvantage, but I had to be careful not to be too complacent with myself.
But it should be enough to remember that I am Maxwell, a pride of a Scottish boy and not another monster assessed by power who would be destroyed by his arrogance.
My abilities seem unchanged even after my new form, which makes me sigh with relief. After a moment, however, a thought strikes me. The world I am going to has other races, right? I vaguely remember various magical races.
This should make my aesthetic changes much easier for me to handle. But I guess I'll have to wait and see, but for now, I should see the rewards I have received for my inconvenience.
Rolling.
Result: Magic Tome (Epic)
[Black Grimoire]
Source: Supernatural
Another tome appears, bound in dark green leather, with an unknown golden symbol depicting an inverted pentagram on the cover. On the spine, a smaller pentagram and the word "Grimoire" are also embossed in gold.
As with all ancient books, the pages of this volume bear the marks of time. Traces of wear are evident in every detail: yellowed edges, marked creases, scattered dark spots, and small tears that have formed over the centuries.
My power provides the basics, it's a tome on druidic magic, unlike the Fire Magic tome, this is not a tome that can be used immediately without thinking about the consequences.
And I will need to study it to understand the magic contained within this tome, as it is more complex than the fire magic I have access to, due to the large number of dark spells it contains.
Well, you can never know how insidious the magic of curses is, right? Again, it's not something I can use to fight immediately because I need to study it to make it useful, watching the Tome vanish and reappear in the Wanderer's Library.
Rolling.
Result: Legendary Power.
My eyes widen in astonishment as I see the outcome, unable to believe my luck. A surge of excitement washes over me when I pull my first legendary roll.
It is the third highest level, right after mythic and divine. Each level represents a significant leap in strength, and acquiring a legendary roll is a dream come true before my eyes.
[Mental Barrier]
Source: Worm (Parahuman)
[Your mind is an indestructible fortress, no one will ever take control of your mind because you are immune to all forms of mental control, mental alteration, mind reading, and more. This advantage also makes you a blind spot for precognitives]
Because it is obviously in synergy with my new body, as the Gacha said. Well, I wanted a power like that and in the end, I definitely got it.
I'll need it, fuck. I don't have the best knowledge of Winx, but I know enough to know that it can be a bunch of strokes without any sense. They have villains trying to take over the universe based on a program.
... I should take another inconvenience. I need everything I can get if I want to enter that world and feel safe from the threats I might encounter along my way.
The chance that I design the same inconvenience twice is almost impossible, so I shouldn't take the risk of becoming even more inhuman.
Probably ...
Taking another inconvenience might seem like a gamble, but the truth is I didn't have many other options. I had to play the cards that were given to me in the best possible way.
And so, with determination, I decided to take the risk.
Disadvantage of rolling.
Result: Small Inconvenience | A Pull Granted.
[Multiversal Bullshit]
Souce: Rick and Morty
[It seems that your universe has become subject to dimensional rifts leading to other worlds. New threats will stand before you. You'd better become strong enough to face them, because they won't stop at anything to conquer your world. You might convince them to leave you alone... Or you might even take advantage of this situation]
In a way, I think it could have been much worse. Of course, from what I remember of Winx, all this could be problematic, but in the long run, it should be good for me.
If I can become strong enough, I can not only defend myself from threats but also exploit dimensional rifts to explore new worlds, gain new abilities, and maybe even allies.
Who knows what kind of worlds I would see?
One last push, RNGesus, please have mercy on this lost lamb who just wants to receive a good biscuit.
Rolling.
Result: Legendary Advantage.
[Dragon Reactor Core (Legendary Level)]
Source: Fate Type Moon
[Grants the appearance of a dragon to the recipient. The recipient will see a great increase in all physical abilities, a greatly increased mana capacity, and the ability to breathe fire like a dragon. Additionally, they will gain the growth rate and extraordinary longevity of a dragon, along with notable magic resistance]
It seemed fucking overwhelming!
RNGesus has my back, everyone hail the god of rolls.
But I think I've challenged luck enough, I don't want to see what high-level inconveniences do, I have a combat-based power, I have access to magic, and now I'm immune to various guys who manipulate the mind that could turn me into a puppet.
Let's not push my luck any further...
Even though I really want to, but I'm not that stupid to dig my own grave. I had already been lucky enough, there was no need to risk and find myself in a bad situation.
[World Jump Initialization]
The void shifts as I am violently jerked in one direction, slightly panting for what is happening, as I am practically dragged into my new world.
I get a brief taste of what looks like a tear in the void before being pulled through, the hole just big enough to fit as I feel compressed, my body screaming in displeasure for this rough treatment.
My sight fills with light as something roars in my ears, the noise is almost incredibly loud as I could feel the cold on my skin, noticing the icy landscape that surrounded me as my vision begins to clear.
