"Now let's get some sleep" Kian said.
Lexi's eyes widened in shock as Kian held her hand and dragged towards the bed." Wait. We're going to sleep there together?"She asked, one of her eyes twitching.
" Where else do you want to sleep?" He asked. " Well I- I thought maybe I'll take the guestroom or something like that" " Not one chance that's happening" he responded and all she could do was blink at him.
"You are mine now, my bond and soon to be my wife. I won't allow you to sleep somewhere else apart from with me" he said sternly. Lexi looked at him for a moment and sighed loudly, letting him know that she'd given up.
She allowed him to lead her to the bed when an idea popped in her head." Kian" " What is it?" He responded. "I have an idea. We're not bonded yet, neither are we married " Kian froze for a moment at her words but most especially because she had said his name. It sounded sweet coming out of her luscious lips.
He turned his head slightly in her direction." So?" He responded indifferently.Lexi was taken aback by his response. She didn't expect him to show such little concern about it. She had to blink several times to compose herself before speaking.
" So, we can't be sleeping in the same bed before that. Who knows what could happen. It's best to be on the safer side I suggest" she said with a little shrug of her shoulders.
A smirk crossed Kian's face and Lexi could tell it wasn't something nice that was going through his head. He turned to face her fully, still with that cynical smirk on his face.
" And what do you think might happen if we sleep on the same bed, huh Lexi?" He asked her while his face drew closer to hers. Lexi instinctively leaned back as he got closer but he still didn't stop until his face was mere centimetres away from hers.
"Answer me that at least" he probed." Uh...well I uh..." He suddenly chuckled as he backed away feom her. " Its alright. I was just teasing" he said looking down at her. Lexi was beyond red at what had just happened and covered her face to hide her embarrassment.
"Any way, how do you suggest we handle it then? Since I'm not going to let you sleep elsewhere" he casually said, totally ignoring her tomato red expression. Lexi looked up at him then at the bed before thinking deeply.
" I suggest we use pillows to divide the bed in two. Since its big it shouldn't be a hindrance to us. So you'll sleep on one side and I'll sleep on the other" Kian seemed to be in thought at her words and simply nodded after a while.
She saw him walk silently and open a large closet , taking out several pillows . He walked towards the bed and aligned the pillows in the middle , separating it equally. When he was done he looked at her and she smiled at him. He liked it when she smiled.
" Thank you" she said. He gave her no response and stretched his hand towards the bed." After you" he said. She nodded and walked to one side of the bed. Once she lay down, she covered herself with the blanket Lucris gave her before she took her bath.
She lay on her back first and watched as Kian also followed to his side of the bed and lay down on his back as well. A while passed and Lexi was still awake. She didnt know why she couldn't sleep. She felt like something ....or more like someone was watching her from somewhere.
She turned onto her side facing Kian, thinking he might already be asleep only to get startled. Kian was also awake.... and he was staring at her.
She swallowed the huge lump that had formed in her throat at what she saw. " Is something wrong?" She asked but was surprised why her voice came out dry." No, not at all. I was simply admiring the beauty I've found and I seem not to get enough " Kian said shamelessly.
For the nth time Lexi turned red at his words . Why was he saying such things at this hour of the night? " But you need to get some sleep Lexi. The bonding is early in the morning" Kian said as he tucked a loose strand ofhair behind her ear with his hand stretched over the pillow between them.
That's when Lexi realised that all the time he'd been watching her, his head was propped up on his hand supported by his elbow. She stopped herself from smiling and nodded at what he said.
He turned and laid on his back. When Kian heard Lexi's steady breathing he turned and studied her angelic face. His hand on it's own accord moved to caress her face when he stopped midway. He retracted his hand and slid off the bed.
He walked to the window and gently opened it. The cold breeze quickly welcomed itself. Kian wasn't really worried about Lexi getting cold since she was snugly wrapped in the thick blanket and the room warmer was on so the cold don't change anything.
He gazed into the open surroundings where the snow covered trees spread around the mansion.He visioned, which in literal fact was zooming in but with his ability and not a tool. He could see most if the town's and countries that were spread across the vast land.
All these people living a their own lives beyond the dome where trespassers could not cross. Grivendale' s crime rate had drastically reduced, he could see after he dealt with the man who had intentionally been hiring street walkers to do all sorts 9f vices.
Horshille was still undergoing development and fixing after a sonic explosion split the town in half. He zoomed in on Kemptsville, where the streets were always quiet and serene at night but bustled in the daytime.
However this particular night, there was someone on the streets. It was the hunter leader he had saved Lexi from that day. He kept looking back as he walked as if he was being followed.
He was headed towards the mayor's office. He rang the bell and the security sensors scanned him before he entered. Kian visioned even closer to see what exactly he had gone there to do.
" Thank you for meeting me even at this hour Mr Mayor" the hunter leader said. The mayor sat opposite the hunter leader clad in expensive clothes and accessories. "I hope what you have to say is of actual importance for me to stay here this late to meet you. I haven't been home all day and the wife's been acting up" the mayor said in an unhappy tone.
" Don't worry sir, this is very important. You see, I came across the timestellar while out in the hills hunting with my men. He killed all my men and robots because we caught a white wolf that I believe belonged to him" he ended.
"Are you sure it was him? It's been a while since anybody saw him face to face. It's like he's been working in the shadows. When there's trouble he fixes it before we can even blink" the mayor commented.
"Yes sir, believe me when I say it was him." Where did you encounter him?" The mayor asked. " The northern hills, close to the forbidden dome" he answered. " So you caught the wolf outside the dome?" " Yes"
The mayor was silent and finally leaned back into his chair since he had been leaning toward the while time the hunter leader was talking." I'll look into it. For now don't let anyone know what happened" " But sir, what about my men, they won't even get a proper burial and my robots are now scrap metal. They're very expensive to come by nd I'm only a hunter" the hunter leader said.
"Don't worry, you will be duly compensated for your losses. Right now the key thing is that you keep this to yourself understood?" "Yes sir" he replied.
The mayor dismissed him and he left. The mayor let out a breath and stared at the ceiling. "What could have caused him to act that way? The wolf was even out of the dome' s radar and it's not like him and can pass through anyway. Sigh...."
Kian stopped visioning and returned back to his current location. He stared into the distance for a while when he heard Lexi making some sounds. She seemed to be uncomfortable and kept moving to his side of the bed, pushing the pillows away in the process.
"Imagine I was there, she would have pushed me off the bed" he said to himself chuckling shortly. He closed the window and walked towards the bed. He removed the pillows and took them back to the closet.
When he returned however, she was lying on the bed at a weird angle.Koan smiled at how cute she looked in her position and got on the bed.
He positioned her properly and lay beside her. He simply admired her in her sleep and contemplated whether to return the pillows or not. His thoughts were interrupted when he felt her suddenly move and wrap her arm around his waist.
Kian stayed completely still at her action, totally unsure of what to do. He could imagine how she'd react once she woke up and saw their position. He didn't really mind because she would be his anyway. Je got comfortable and soon sleep came to him easily.
When morning came Lexi opened her eyes after having a good night sleep. She felt a slight chill blow past her hair but there was something warm behind her , probably her blanket. She snuggled deeper into it as she got comfortable.
She was about to go back to sleep when baritone voice sounded in her ear, jolting her awake. The sleep totally vanished from her face after his words.
" I don't think you'd be that excited if I took you right here before the bonding even starts" she heard him say behind her. Her first thought was to get out of the bed but when she tried she felt a steel grip keeping her where she was.
Her eyes widened. "So, what do you say?" She heard him say directly close to her ear. His hot breath sent shivers down her spine and she felt his lips lands lightly on her exposed neck. She sucked in her breath at his actions.
With that he released his arm around her. " I'm just kidding" he said and Lexi didn't waste any moment to get off the bed.
