After Lexi got off the bed, she stared at Kian with an apologetic face. " I'm sorry I dis that. You were just so warm and confy that's all" " Comfy? He said with a raised brow. It's alright. I don't mind" Lexi blushed and shyly looked away.
" Come Lexi, it's time for the bonding to take place" she heard Kian say and turned to him and took his outstretched hand. Lexi's heart rate quickened as he is her to a door at the far end of the large bedroom.
The door led to a small room. He closed the door behind her and led her to stand in a circle drawn in the middle if the room. There were some symbols she was unfamiliar with inscribed in the circle.
He looked into her eyes and held her gaze for a moment before he spoke." I need you to calm down Lexi. I know you're nervous but there's nothing to be afraid of alright" he told her. Lexi have him a quick nod as he held her hands. She felt her nervousness disappear at his touch.
When she was calm enough she heard Kian start a chant. Lexi stared at him as he chanted some mysterious words with his eyes closed. The the circle and the symbol began to glow. It glowed and glowed until the light became too bright for Lexi to see. She shut her eyes at the impact and when she opened them again, she was in an unfamiliar place.
Kian was not standing in front of her anymore. She turned around in circles, calling out his name." Kian! Kian! Where are you?!" But it was all futile. He was nowhere to be seen and she has no clue where she was either.
In her panic she finally saw some people in the distance. Two people were walking in a large field. She immediately picked up her pace and ran after them. However, when she was close enough she tried asking them where they were but got no response.
It was as if they couldn't see her. It was a man with black hair and handsome features, alongside a very beautiful woman with pure white hair. The man however reminded her of someone . She studied him closer and realised he looked exactly like Kian.
Then it hit her. She must be in someone's memories . She thought. The woman with the white hair looked exactly like a Galien royal. The two seemed to be totally immersed in a romantic conversation.
She looked around again and realised that the place they were was undeveloped. The city was miles away as she could see. She turned back to the couple .
" Evanthe, I have to leave. If this child is born with me still in this timeline, you will die and I can't let that happen. Our son must grow up being raised right by his mother" " And what about his father Culis? Shouldn't our son grow up with a father in his life?" The woman called Evanthe asked.
" Love, don't make this harder than it already is. I want you to live, as well as this child. You can tell him all about me. I'm not leaving forever. I will return and we'llbe reunited.
Please Evanthe, leg go of your stubbornness this once and listen to me" the man called Culis said , holding Evanthe's face in his hands. Lexi watched and listened as Culis continued to tell Evanthe how much he loved her and their future child.
Then after a moment he stepped back from her. He pressed a button on his arm and a time mask covered his half of his face, one eye glowing red." Evanthe, I will always love you" then he disappeared into a speed vortex.
" Culis!" Evanthe dreamed but he was already gone. She fell to her knees and began to sob heavily. Lexi had never heard a cry so pained. She cried for a long time before she stood up. Still sniffling, she turned around and that's when Lexi realised how heavily pregnant she was . She hadn't noticed because their backs were facing her in the beginning.
Lexi wanted to walk towards her and comfort her but she couldn't. The time then drifted and she saw Evanthe on a bed, Lucris at the end of it. She was in labour. As she cried in pain, she gave one last push and the cry of a baby was heard. Lucris cleaned and wrapped the baby up in a warm cloth.
He then gave the child to Evanthe and she smiled, tears flowing down her cheeks as well. Time moved again and this time Evanthe was sitting in a rocking chair and singing a lulaby to the child firmly in her arms.
" Sleep my darling Kian, sleep my baby boy
Daddy's watching over us
He loves us very much
He loves you very much"
Tears cells from her eyes, staining the floor as she continued to satre at her baby boy. He was now fast asleep." I dont think i can do this anymore Lucris" she suddenly said in a low voice. But Lucris heard her clearly.
"I know you are pained Madam but consider the child, he-" " Its because of this child Lucris! Looks at him, he's a complete replica of Culis! I can't- I can't do this anymore" she cried as more tears flowed down her cheeks. Her outburst woke Kian up and he also started crying.
His cry seemed to bring her back to her senses. She immediately started rocking him again and he gradually went back to sleep." I' m sorry Lucris." " It's okay Madam Evanthe" Lucris said. " I just miss him so much. Waiting is so hard" she said and stayed silent as She rocked Kian gently.
She placed Kian in his cot and headed towards the door. She opened it and simply stood in the doorway, unmoving. " Are you going somewhere Madam?" Lucris asked." I'm just taking a walk Lucris. Please look after Kian for me. Protect him with all you got for he is a precious child with a bright future.
I feel so proud whenever I think about it." "Why are you saying all this Madam Evanthe?" Lucris asked with a serious expression in his face. He slowly started walking towards her." If I don't return, don't look for me. Tell my boy I live him and his father loves him too" " Madam, what are you- " before Lucris could finish his sentence and touch her , she was already gone.
Lucris's eyes widened and he quickly grabbed his hand teleporter before activating the security systems to protect Kian. He disappeared and appeared seconds later at the border of the dome.
Evanthe stood there, the cold wind blowing her hair to the side. She almost looked like a sad beautiful ghost. She stood right at the edge. A step and she'd be out of the dome. Since she wasn't a normal human she'd be unaffected but normal humans would lose their lives once they crossed it.
Their bodies wouldn't be able to accommodate the power that would flow through them. Lucris called after her but she stopped him when he got closer." Madam, please, think about Kian" " I am doing this for Kian, Lucris. I don't want my boy to grow up with a mother who would neglect him just because his father left. I just can't forget and move on. I'll end up affecting him in a bad way. Please just let me go and be at peace." Evanthe said.
But Lucris still stepped closer so she cast a spell and froze him. Lucris watched her in frozen horror as she changed a spell which automatically transfers one's powers to another. He knew she was passing them to Kian, which would make him stronger.
But this meant that once her powers were gone, she would be no different from a mere human. Lucris wanted to scream but he couldn't. All he could do was watch as she turned human.
A single tear dropped from Lucris's eye when she finished the spell and stepped through the dome. Immediately she stepped through, the spell broke and an agonising scream left Lucris's mouth as he ran towards her.
He crossed the dome and went down on his knees, holding Evanthe's lifeless body in his arms." No, No, no, please Madam, wake up. Please! Your son needs you! " But it was all in vain. Evanthe was dead. She'd passed her powers to her one and only son.
Lucris just stayed there crying as he held her in his arms. The woman he'd watched grow from a baby. He let out another scream. After a while, stood up and carried her body back to mansion. He buried her there.
Time moved again and Lexi saw how Kian grew up with Lucris teaching him everything he needed to know. He taught him how to use his powers. Kian grew into a strong and handsome man. He became the new timestellar and dealt with crime without ever being seen by witnesses.
Time moved again and Lexi saw him have a vision of her. She heard him tell Lucris of his plan to come look for her . Then she went into the future where she had a glimpse of their wedding.
