_Chapter 18: Reclaiming the Past_
Axel's anxiety grew as his father's release date loomed.
Victor's arrival would disrupt the fragile peace Axel had built.
One night, Axel received a package – an old photograph of his family.
A note was attached: "Time to remember, son."
Axel's memories flooded back – laughter, tears, and screams.
Emily found him, shaken, in the abandoned studio.
"What's wrong?" Emily asked, concern etched on her face.
Axel's voice cracked. "My father's trying to manipulate me."
Emily's arms wrapped around him. "You're not alone."
Together, they decided to confront Victor.
The day of Victor's release, Axel and Emily stood outside the prison.
Victor emerged, his eyes locked onto Axel.
"Son," Victor said, his voice low.
Axel's anger boiled. "You don't get to call me that."
Victor's gaze dropped. "I know I've hurt you. But I've changed."
Axel scoffed. "Prove it."
Victor's eyes flashed with determination. "I will."
As they left the prison, Emily's hand tightened around Axel's.
"We'll get through this," Emily whispered.
But Axel knew his father's return would test everything.
