Chapter 16 - 16

Penelope was done making breakfast, she would be going to her mother later today.

Presently, she was in the garden with her dad tending to some tomatoes which had surprisedly ripened faster than anticipated.

"Just few days of you being back, the plants already blossomed, I've always told you these plants have favourites among us"

Peter said causing her to laugh at his silly joke.

Although she also Wondered why the plants in their garden grew faster whenever she was the one tending to them, even in her 4th grade, when they had a gardening test, her plants usually came out top and best, her mother always referred it to her as having a magic torch and maybe she did,for plants she guessed.

The sound of a car pulled their attention to the front yard or perhaps only her father's attention as she kept tending to the plants but when she heard her father gasp, she looked up and almost gasped herself.

Right in their yard, she could see Dorian approaching them, his steps predatory and confident, his hair slightly curled at their tips and his body covered in black clothes giving an odd feel to his already dominating aura. Two men who she recognized were seen trailing behind him. One with grey hair, While the other, with ginger red curly hair.

"Good morning Mr Watson"

He greeted coming to stand in front of her father and when he glanced her way,she felt a loud thud in her chest at the way he stared at her.

"Mr skendore, what are you...how..I mean welcome, please do come in"

Her father who seemed already smitten by him sounded lost for words at the sight of this man. She didn't blame him, afterall who wouldn't wish to be in the presence of an elite as himself.

No doubt, she had used her brother's phone since she lost hers that day to do a thorough research on him and was more than bewildered at her findings.

What exactly did a man like him want with her at that time.

"Thank you" he smiled politely even though he was already in their yard.

"What can we offer you?"

Her father asked,he was always a type to offer guest something whenever they had any.

"We have ...."

"No, I've not come for that"

He interrupted calmly. How could he manage to sound polite even when cutting someone off their words, Penelope Wondered but his next words made her eyes bulge wide.

"I'm here for your daughter"

He said looking straight at her.

Samantha opened her eyes slowly, her sight blurry for few seconds before they cleared out.

Her eyes were fixed on the white ceiling,a beautiful chandelier hanging down from it.

She felt softness beneath her so she knew she was lying on a bed,her eyes scanned her surroundings, the white walls and sharp designs, she recognized it immediately and knew where she was.

"Good morning beautiful"

She heard that devil's voice and her head turned to the side.

He was sitting on a stool beside the bed, oddly his hair didn't look as neatly tied as always,it was slightly messy with strands falling by sides of his face yet this only made him even more alluring but although he looked this way, the only thing Samantha saw was a devil in disguise.

There was something in his eyes, was it worry, she couldn't tell as his expressions were usually difficult to read. She kept looking at him blankly as what he told her last night came flooding back and tears began rolling down the side of her face

"If you're thinking of wasting those precious tears for that bastard then save it,I didn't kill him"

Immediately, Samantha snapped her head up, looking at him eyes wide.

"Y_you didn't .."

"No, although I did have the decency to leave him at the hospital"

At his words, Samantha understood he didn't kill him but also did'nt spare him.

What hospital was he in?, could she go see if he was doing alright?

"Can I..."

"No"

He cut her off already hearing her thoughts.

He hated that she was this worried for that bastard and to think she wanted to go see him.

"And if I find out you do then I might as well just kill him, for real this time"

It pleased him to see the fear which crossed her eyes at his words, now he was convinced she wouldn't go against him., although she would be doing so to protect that fool.

He didn't even know why he didn't kill him, that night when he had called her and the fool answered the phone instead of her, that was enough to make him want to murder that bastard.

He didn't like other men around his woman.

"You should eat"

He said pointing his chin at her and she looked behind her to see the tray of food already placed against the side table but she turned away rather. Her eyes glancing at the large clock on the wall.

"I'm late for work" she tried getting up but he held her in place

"You're not going there today, you'll take a week's leave"

"I can't do that"

"Then shall I buy the whole company so you can"

She looked at him and realised he had a serious look on,he wasn't kidding, not like she doubted he couldn't,he was a multi trillionaire,he could do what he wished.

"I want to go home"

"You'll do that once you've eaten"

He said slightly annoyed,it was already fair he was being this lenient enough not to chain her and have her where he wanted her to be to avoid her sneaking off to hang out with worthless fools.

Samantha watched him get up, walking to the side and he grabbed the tray, bringing it back,he sat beside her.

"I can eat on my own"

She said when he tried to feed her but he drew the plate back only to take the spoon closer to her lip.

She refused to open her mouth and let him feed her but he remained.

They stayed so for about 13 minutes and Raphael never moved his hand away,it was as though his joints weren't hurting.

She refused to succumb but then again, his presence alone suffocated her and she felt anger bile up at the sight of him,she wanted to leave here, she wanted to go away from him.

At the end,she ended up complying to his request of letting him feed her,the quicker she ate,the sooner he'd leave.
