Chapter 58 - Profits

A wave of killing intent erupted from Clara's noticeably smaller frame. If looks could kill, her death glare would have already buried Wyatt six feet under.

However, Wyatt remained unperturbed. His cynical smile remained as he stared down at the petite figure.

The surrounding individuals backed away, thinking a fight was about to occur. However, a surprising scene palyed out.

A cold snort sounded from Clara's nose before she gestured to a random group of disciples to follow her.

They didn't tarry and quickly followed after the already retreating figure of Clara. Soon, they all disappeared into the mist of the mountain.

Without wasting time, Wyatt also rallied his own group and swifly departed towards the mountain ranges.

The remaining disciples swifly split into groups without wasting any time and amidst their excited cries, all rushed towards the mountain ranges.

The surrounding disciples of the other sects parted ways for them in order to allow them to pass through. Before long, all of them disappeared into the mountains.

The surrounding individuals heaved a sigh of relief after noticing that the presence of the War Machine sect could no longer be detected.

However, a surprising scene played out after they left. The waiting warriors funneled into the Misty mountains in droves. From this scene, it was evident what their plans were.

They wanted to follow the lead of the War Machine sect. Regardless of their reputation, they were indeed powerful.

Fighting alongside the cultivators from the War machine sect gave them a certain peace of mind.

After killing the night panther, a wave of exhaustion rushed over Adrian. His Qi reserves had almost bottomed out due to his consistent use of the astral steps. That was one of its downsides.

Shaking his head to get rid of the weariness, Adrian quickly stored the body of the night panther into the blood star. Even though it was smaller than the granite crocodile, he should be able to sell it for more Qi stones.

This trip was already proving to be a profitable one. After scaling the mountain halfway, Adrian started digging a deep cave inside the mountain.

After digging a deep enough cave, he covered the entrance with large pieces of stone covering up his previous activity.

Only after doing this did he relax slightly. With a slight stirring of his mind, He entered inside the blood star where he collapsed onto the ground, exhausted.

He quickly had a huge meal. A body refiner usually required large amounts of food and nutrition in order to maintain normal body function.

The same went for Adrian. Continuously using his physique had made him famished. However, he was all too prepared for such a situation.

He had already stocked up on provisions inside the blood star so food was not a problem.

After taking a few moments to rest and rejuvenate himself, he sat in front of the rainbow rose to replenish his Qi. He wrestled with the idea of continuing his journey at night but ultimately decided against it.

He had already made considerable progress that day and there was no need to rush. He wasn't even sure if he could make it to the inner region with the current situation of the Misty mountains.

I mean, he just encountered a rank 3 beast that usually only resided near the edges of the outer region towards the depths of the Misty Mountains.

The granite crocodile was obviously a one off case due to rainbow rose but such situations were truly rare.

After filling up his Qi reserves, he collapsed into a deep sleep that lasted throughout the night.

Meanwhile, at another location in the Misty mountains, a huge fight was going on between Clara and a ferocious magical beast. In order to gain more points and surpass the other two, she continued moving through the night much to the dismay of the members of her so called team.

Even though they were battle maniacs, they were not fools. They knew the importance of looking for resources which was part of the reason they took on this quest.

However, none of that mattered to Clara. For her, the resources that could be found here were of no use to her, so she didn't bother searching for them.

Instead, she kept on searching for various magical beasts that she could fight in order to increase the number of points she got.

So far, this was the fourth rank three beast that she was facing today. Only one of them so far had anything of use to the other members of her 'team'.

After repeated disappointments throughout the day, their faces were a mix of anger and helplessness. They were fervently praying for there to be something worthwhile for them here.

A loud crash woke them up from their stupor. A massive head over a meter wide could be seen crashing into a nearby boulder.

A loud hiss could be heard, seemingly conveying the snkes anger and pain.

From the fog emerged the petite figure of Clara, with clenched fists and a slight smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

Clara stood her ground, her muscles taut, her golden Qi flickering like a halo around her. She exuded confidence, her bare fists clenched and ready.

The snake lunged, its massive jaws snapping shut with a thunderous clap. She sidestepped with inhuman speed, her body a blur.

Pivoting, she delivered a devastating punch to its scaled jaw, the force rippling through its massive body. The serpent hissed in fury, its head recoiling from the blow.

Even without using any martial skills, the power of her punch was immense.

The beast coiled, its body dozens of meters long and thick as an ancient tree trunk, before striking again with blinding speed.

Clara leapt high, flipping mid-air to evade the strike, her feet landing on the serpent's head. With a yell, she channeled her Qi into a hammering blow, cracking several scales and drawing black blood.

Enraged, the snake lashed its tail, catching her mid-leap and sending her hurtling into a boulder. Dust and debris exploded outward, but she emerged unscathed, her golden Qi shimmering fiercely.

The serpent attempted to crush her with its massive coils, wrapping around her in a death grip. She gritted her teeth, veins bulging as she pushed back with raw strength. With a roar, she broke free, shattering its coils with a burst of Qi.

Summoning all her might, she leapt onto its back, gripping its head. Her fists rained down, each strike a thunderclap. The snake thrashed, but she held firm. With a final, explosive punch, she shattered its skull.

The beast collapsed, lifeless. She stood atop it, victorious, her breathing heavy but steady.
