As the wave of adrenaline wore off, a heavy sense of weakness overcame the boar. It's legs became weak as it collapse unto the floor.
It wanted to take a brief respite when an unpresidented sense of danger rushed over its body.
It looked around but couldn't spot anything. However, in the next moment, a blazing slash appeared right in front of it.
It was too close for it to react. The thin line of flames landed squarely on the already fractured skull.
A brief stalemate occurred when the flaming strike landed on the skull of the boar. However, thanks to the already previous damage, it quickly broke through.
The sound of bone breaking could be heard after which the streak of fire successfully broke through the skull of the boar and attacked the brain.
Unlike the skull, the brain was just a fragile internalr organ and was quickly cleaved into two by the remaining power of the strike.
The beast let out a mournful howl before its body collapsed into the ground devoid of any life.
In the next moment, a person dressed in black robes with a hood covering their head could be seen appearing right next to the boar.
This was naturally Adrian. He took of his good and his face which was flushed red could finally be seen.
He collapsed unto his knees as he took in large gasps of breath. That last strike had severely depleted him of his Qi. His reserves were almost bottomed out.
After taking a few moments to catch his breath, a wave of excitement flooded over him. He had just killed a magical beast at the peak of the third rank.
Sure, it had just been in a bloody battle that left it tired and severely injured. It even had such a large wound that was bad enough to become a central target.
But that was besides the point. However, no matter how bad a state it was in, it was still a peak rank 3 beast.
Someone at his level shouldn't even be able injure a park rank 3 beast, talk less of killing it.
Normally, even if it just stood there, that attack would have at most left a light scratch on the surface of its skin.
Of course, Adrian's strength wasn't normal for his stage. He was a rare practitioner of both body refinement and qu cultivation.
Plus his skills and texhbiques were all top notch. Adding that to the already battered state of the boar, it created the perfect recipe for Adrian to be able to slay the beast.
Even though he was excited, Adrian didn't lose his wits. The fight just now caused a huge commotion in the area which was sure to attract attention.
Moreover, the boar wasn't exactly quiet when it let out that last howl. The priority now was to get away from this area as far and as fast as possible.
He quickly stored the body of the beast inside the blood star. A huge suction force erupted that swallowed the boar with a thought from Adrian.
Immediately after, he went to the bodies of the fallen team. Sure enough, he was able to gather all seven storage rings.
What surprised him was that the captain was wearing a gold rank storage ring. Like other equipment, storage rings had their classifications.
The higher the rank, the more space present in the storage ring. A gold rank storage ring would have the space of about fifty cubic metres.
It was even higher in rank that the one that Adrian was currently wearing on his hand.
Adrian casually grabbed it and tossed it all into the blood star.
He didn't bother checking the contents. He didn't have time for that now. That would be done later when he had already escaped from this region.
After circling around and confirming that he didn't miss anything, Adrian quickly ran away. Though he was still tired from his Qi depletion, he didn't care.
His physical strength was enough to support his as he gradually recovered his Qi. He pushed himself to full speed and turned into a blur as his figure darted through the fog.
He continued running for a couple more hours when he decided to stop. He picked out a random tree near the base of a mountain.
He had spent all day running and avoiding both beasts and cultivators. Now he needed to rest.
The reason he picked this mountain was that through his heightened senses, he could sense the aura of a rank three beast on this mountain.
This should create a bit of a deterrence for any pursures and other beast. However, as soon as he was approaching the base of the mountain, the beast had already sensed him.
Without wasting any time, he took out a knife and cut out a small hole at the base of the tree.
He stuffed the blood blood star into it and covered it with dirt before swifly entering it.
No sooner had he done this did the massive pressure of the rank 3 beast land on the surroundings.
The beast spread out its senses to search for the one who dared to intrude into its territory. However, after a thorough sweep of its surroundings, it couldn't find anything.
This left the beast surprised because it had sensed an intruder yet it seemed to have disappeared.
Though a bit dumbfounded, since it didn't find anything, it could only go back to its lair.
Meanwhile, Adrian didn't know that he had just narrowly escaped a calamity. He stared at the corpse of the boar and a smile appeared on his lips.
He took out his sword and quickly walked towards the chest of the beast, where the heart was located.
With a lot of difficulty, Adrian pierced through the tough muscles of the beast before it reached its heart.
Adrian let out a sigh as he wiped the sweat off his forehead. Some how, fighting a dead beast seemed to be harder than a alive one.
Through feeling, he located the heart of the beast and swifly pierced through it. He quickly collected the 'heart blood' that was drained from the boar into an already prepared container.
