Chereads / The Moralé's Fortune / Chapter 4 - Episode 1

Chapter 4 - Episode 1

Chapter 1:The heiress.

Trees whistle deep in the dark forest, autumn has showed her face on the surface of the continent and trees begin to shed their leaves. The heavy wind blows the fallen leaves all over the forest feet, creating an eerie song that soothes the haunted land.

Clicking hooves and neighing horses soon engulf the area as the usual even hunt commence.

"(Roars)" the atmosphere thunder under the sound of the beast rage. But it's pursuers aren't scared, neither do they waver. They relentlessly chase after the shadowed beast. There are three riders dressed in black leather coat and belt, each holding guns and crossbows.

Two riders take different routes in the forest to corner the beast. The last rider stays still in front of the fork, glowing bloodshot eyes are hidden under the helmet.

"Nt Nt Nt, come out come out where ever you are" she dismount her horse and tightens her straps. Her eyes scanning through the dark bushes between the trees.

"Grr..." She stays alert and concentrate on the echoing sound of the beast. She pulls out a gun attached to her back and loads it with a metal ball. "Be not afraid, I'm only here to help"

She points at the rustling bush ready to fire "You would barely feel pain" she pulls the trigger and shot.

BOOM!!

The echoing sound of her gunshot fills the air, followed by a spine freezing silence. "Hmm, readjusting accuracy by 0.01mm" she recites to herself and adjust the gun.

The rustling sounds become louder and vivid among the bushes as it gets closer and closer to her angle. After a while, there's a sudden halt that steels her presence. "From above"

BOOM!!

The beast flinches in fear and drops from the tree, it charges directly at the rider. "Tough luck"

She pulls out a strange looking object from her pocket and flings her gun aside. Bracing for impact she is pushed to the ground by the enormous beast who is twice her size. Sinking it's fangs into the metal plate braced round the riders arm. She uses the opportunity to stab the beast in it's nape, while holding her head down to avoid a concussion. A few minutes passed and the beast collapse on her.

She heaved out tiredly and pushes the body aside. "Milady"

A rider runs towards her with concern inked in his face. "Are you alright?"

"Yes I am" she picks herself up and dust her shirt. "Did you get side tracked or misheard my command?"

"Sorry milady" the two riders bowed to her deeply.

"It's fine, tie it up and take it to the lab" she command and whistle to her horse which had longed ran into the forest. "Quadrant you idiot" the black shire gallop towards its owner. "When did I say you could leave"

The rider pulls off her helmet and shakes her head lightly, letting her red crimson hair fall over her head to her hips. It was braided in two equal halves and had pins that held it's tip. "Let's go" she mounted her horse and led the way.

Chapter 2:The Moralé Mansion.

"Monisha!!" A voluptuous woman runs down from the elevated stairs leading to the entrance of a massive building. It's top can't be seen due to the heavy fog covering it's view.

The woman's eyes are pale red and her short curly blonde hair was waving over her eyes. Her skin as pale as waxed candle, she looked beyond earthly in her black A-line gown.

Monisha Morale, the heir of the great Moralé' Empire and fortune, her beauty is beyond comparison and her knowledge at its peak. Her crimson fiery hair that blends perfectly with her sun-starved skin. Her natural amethyst lips that sober from top to bottom. Her bloody eyes and white pupil that captivates all that stare into it. She's more of a vixen in appearance having such a sharp feminine features, but all that puts her out of place is the corners of her eyes and her graceful lashes. They bring out a sense of meekness from this beauty.

"I am well and alive Eliana, at ease" Monisha dismount her horse and embraces her nanny. "I am a hundred plus now so you can stop treating me like a kid"

"Oh nonsense" Eliana rubbed Monisha's cheek and turned to the men who were carrying a body. "I see you were able to find one"

"It's a kid" Monisha looked unsatisfied "An adult rogue would be 7 feets tall and at least heavier than a bear by fifty pounds or more" Eliana nodded sharply like she understood what she heard when in the real sense she didn't care.

"Come on, I prepared something delicious for you and your fangs to sink into " she pulled Monisha in while arranging her disheveled hair that stuck out of her braide.

The Moralé Mansion is located in the deepest parts of the forest and happens to be at the center of the continent. Each one half of the mansion sticks in on both boundaries of the two kingdoms. This is because, the Moralé are the balance which keep and maintain peace between both kingdoms.

The interior design of the building was a front way ticket to fear and depression, if black was categorized in shades and grey living as indigo on the rainbow. Every single artifact was black, white or grey. The building looked blanched and devoid of live. Even the candles lit in the hallway were burning white flames.

Monisha pulled off the heavy plates that was attached to her hands and the metal plate on her shoulders. She loosened her straps and removed the tight belts. Sighing in relief, she placed all the items she removed in the hands of a servant who walked beside her.

"Thank you, Lilith" the young girl bowed with bright cheeks, her peach red eyes glimmered as she felt ecstatic being spoken to by Monisha.

"Welcome" a man stood beside a huge double door climbing the high ceiling. His eyes were hallow and blood shot by his face carved with care and meekness. He had a few wrinkles on his forehead and a few sags underneath his eyes. "Milady"

"Good evening Albert" Monisha bowed slightly to the man with a hint of respect laced in her tone. Albert has been the Moralé butler for a millennium, he was by far the oldest and most loyal servant of the Moralés.

"Thank you" Eliana bowed to Albert before tailing Monisha who had already stepped in.

Monisha was served a stake that was barely cooked, it had ox blood drooling down the edges and in a glass cup filled with thick blood. She ate quietly while Eliana and Albert watched her eat.

She finished her stake and picked the glass of blood, emptying it in one go. "The blood is cold"

"Forgive milady" Albert bowed "I had prepared for your arrival an hour early" Monisha hummed before standing up and leaving the room. Her footsteps echoed in the building as her silhouette vanished into the darkest parts of the mansion.

Chapter 3:The origin of Monisha Morale

27th October, 1644 AD

"Dr Van del Moralé"

"Yes my little element"

An old blonde man sat on the red rug by the fireplace as he crawled his young daughter. His blues eyes dilated at her sight and his lips curved upward in love. His face wrinkled by his forehead and cheeks.

"Van del, I thought you promised to stop teaching her words beyond her decipher" a vampire lady with brown wavy hair wearing red gown sat beside them and picked the book from his hand.

"Oh be buoyant Carla" the man chuckled lightly " she's over 50 years isn't she?"

The little girl looked up to see her father and mother through her curly crimson hair sticking to parts of her neck. Her pale skin glimmered under the fire's flame. "Papa, I whant to be wike you and Mama"

Clara squealed like a toddler and picked the girl up, twirling her round and round. "Oh my Isha your voice is as adorable as always" Van del smiled and watched the most beautiful woman in the world holding their child.

"I have to atone for my wrong" His face twisted in regret as he recalled the evil he once did in his youth. "I have to"

1st March , 1648 AD

CRASH!! THUD!!

"What have you done?" Carla's voice echoed in the room. She ran towards the lifeless body on the floor.

"Ended a fool"

The dinning hall was dark with only light from the crescent moon to suffice. All the lit candles were blown out and the room devoid of any sound. Carla sat still by Van del as tears wet her pale cheeks.

A towering figure is reflected on the blood stained marble tile, casting a shadow over Carla and her husband. "He deserve what he got"

A domineering voice clogs the air in the room, so much that the air is to heavy to breathe in. Monisha is curled up under the dinning table, her hands covering her mouth while her eyes are glued to her father who is facing her with a misplaced head. She can't spot his head, except for brain splatter and a bone sticking out of his neck while the tile overflow with blood.

"What a waste" the figure scoffs in disgust, after which a tiny glass sound land on the floor and and eyeball roll towards Monisha's leg. Her body jolts and her eyes widened, the blue eyes she had always admired was now a ball with blood drooling down it.

"Let's go Carla" the figure turns to the window.

"What makes you think I'll go with you" Carla hisses out in despair.

"It looks like his life didn't teach you enough lesson" Monisha whimpered when she felt an intense gaze on her.

"You wouldn't dare" Carla growled like a beast.

"Try me" A moment of silence filled the air as Monisha's faith was decided.

"Isha, promise me you will finish what Papa started and when you're done, you would come get me"

"M-ama" she squealed in.

Tears rolled down Carla's swollen eyes "I promise I will wait for you, no matter how long it takes" she sniffed heavily as she tried to complete her sentences without gagging.

"I love you, Mon..."

Monisha flung out from under the table waiting to embrace her mother but her body fell on her father's dead body and a pool of blood. "Mama"

She whispered while embracing the remains of her father. The peachy red eyes that once captivated souls became darker as blood rolled down her cheeks as tears.

Chapter 4: The rogue project 1572

"Trial 654, date fourth September sixteen seventy-five" Monisha held a book in her hand and noted things that were of importance to her experiment. She lit up the candles in the room and gradually the room glows from the burning candles.

"Grrr...." The shadow beast lunges at the heavy metal cage. It's sharp claws stretches out as it tries to claw Monisha.

"If I just had the right components" she talked to herself. She walked up to a long table that had a lot of chemistry apparatus scattered all over.

Pouring a lilac steaming liquid into a burette from a test tube she further adds to huge pills into the boiling conical flask right beneath the test tube. Steam emits rapidly from the flask. Her eyes were sharp and filled with focus and coordination.

She opened the tap lightly and let a few drops of the lilac substance to fall in. The solution in the flask turned blue then gradually purple until it finally turned red.

She brought a little plate filled with a thick amethyst liquid. Monisha took a syringe from her pocket and took a sample of the solution from the flask. She injected the solution into the amethyst liquid and brought her magnifying glass to observe.

The moisture reacts rapidly and the amethyst liquid begins to lose it color, not until it changes back to its color in an instant and steams up causing the glass to crack.

Monisha pulled away slowly from the magnifying lens. Closing her eyes gently she sighed. "Ahh!!"

She flung the glass at the brick wall, the growling beast falls silent and whimpers in fear. It could sense the deadly aura Monisha was releasing.

"Ahhhhhh!!" She screamed at the top of her voice as she threw all the apparatus on the table to the floor. Her skin melted from the harmful chemicals exposed on it but she didn't flinch.

She watched her wounds heal rapidly and her skin formed back spotless and clean. Her red eyes darkened. Pulling off her black lab coat. She threw it away and left the room in rage. Albert stood outside the door already waiting to clean the mess.

"Another failure" She cursed angrily.

12th December, 1572 AD

"I've done it Albert" a younger looking Van del Moralé flung his hand in the air with joy. His blonde hair was disheveled and his beard rough and unkept. Albert stood by the door with a bright smile.

"Now I have conquered the greatest experiment on earth" he boasted "a vampire created by a human, not God nor the devil, a human did this" he laughed out happily and twirled round until his eyes fell on his wife who had horror plastered on her face.

"Carla, my love" he walked to her and assisted her. Carla's belly was big and round, it distorted the shape and beauty of the green dress she wore.

"I have created something unimaginable my love" Van del laughed out loud and led her towards the sickly looking man that was in chains behind the thick bars.

"What have you done?" Carla gasped in shock. Her face looked dreaded and pale than she already was.

"I have done what no man would or will ever do" he smiled brightly "I have rewritten history my love"

The man behind bars began to shake violently until he shredded skin and an entirely different being was formed. "Oh he finally took form" Van del hummed excited.

"Did you make this?" Carla whispered as she gently sat on a chair in the room.

"Of course my love" Van del was less enthusiastic when he noticed his wife's behavior. "Is something wrong?" He asked.

"Kill it" she whispered. Albert stood aside and could only watch the two.

"Kill it?" Van del asked confused. "I created this and you expect me to kill it" . He felt his body pulled downward.

"Kill it, Van del" Carla screamed at the top of her voice.

"I won't Carla" he retorted stubbornly " this is an invention of mine, one to talk of for years, i cant kill it"

"Van del, you just brewed another devil. As if the one the heavens rebuked isn't enough, you made this" Carla pointed at the creature that was frantically trying to free itself. "It's a beast and you know it"

"I thought you'd support me and be happy for me as a wife" Van del looked disappointed and sad.

"I do, I do" Carla pulled his sleeves and nudged him. "But I don't support this, if this creature breaks out, chaos- no death will sweep the land"

"It's never going to break from this place " Van del said reassuringly with a smile.

BOOM!!!!

Time stood still for a second and then the harsh reality slapped Van del on the face. He turned to find a broken wall that showed the gloomy clouds and crescent moon peeking through.

Carla gasped and fainted in an instant, Van del on the other hand looked mortified. "Wait wait wait wait, I haven't given it intelligence". He ran towards the cage.

"Master!!" Albert held unconscious Carla in his arms. "Madame she not breathing"

"Cardiac arrest, quickly get the pumps" Van del ran to her side and picked her up running out of the room. "Send the men to get that creature back to Moralé estate this minute" he yelled.

PRESENT

Albert picked up the broken pieces of glass scattered on the floor. He looked so sad and tired. He wished he had spoken to Van del when he had idea of creating this monsters.

All the men who were sent out to catch the beast ended up dead or alike. Thanks to the lack of instincts the beast resided in the forest away from civilization. But there were still causalities. Ninety percent died and the remaining ten percent turned to rogues.

He turned to the beast sleeping at the edge of the cage. Pity irked on his face, he could only imagine the torment this beast had faced.

Chapter 5:It's useless

Monisha walked into the huge creepy library, the shelves were painted red and black and the candles lit glowed dimly. She walked towards the long desk that was brimmed up with heavy text books and broken piles of quils and pencils.

Monisha sat on the table with a sigh, she was tired and frustrated yet she still couldn't give up. "Let's see, halos are useless, and radioactive elements can't brew it down. I'm out of any transuranic substance and definitely won't be getting anyone anytime soon" she talked to herself.

"This is useless" she tried to convince herself. "I haven't shut a wink for the past five months for nothing". She closed her eyes and twitched her ears to the vibrations of everything in the mansion.

"I hope milady gets rest, I'm worried about her"

"I hear Jane i ate the leftovers of Madame again, that girl's admiration is something else"

"Madame did save her from death"

"Has anyone seen my sweater"

"I need that towel, Fay"

Monisha's eyes snapped open, she could sense footsteps heading towards the library. "Eliana" she whispered.

Eliana peeked through the huge library door and stared at Monisha with stars in her eyes.

"What is it this time?" Monisha goaned tiredly.

"I have a present for you" Eliana squealed like a kid. She stepped in and hurriedly made her way to Monisha. "I know you've been working so much lately and I decided to give you a little something to ease your mind body and soul"

Monisha stared at her dully and bored. "I'm not in the mood for your sadistic gift this night"

"When last did you even sleep in your room?" Eliana growled like an angry little puppy. "Get up right now"

Monisha stood up against her will and tailed Eliana, she hated the fact thay she didn't have hypnotizing powers like most vampires did. Not only did she lack that but she was the worst at speed and strength. All she got were rapid healing, stamina rebuild, sharp sight and deep hearing. Her sense of smell was below the standard of an average human. She needed her nose moist or wet most times to ascertain the scent or smell of a substance.

Monisha tailed Eliana while grumbling and cursing under her breath. "We are here"

Eliana stopped at her room door. Monisha didn't say a word all she did was yawn heavily and tilt her head. "Oh stop acting like some grandma, you're just a hundred plus" she stepped behind her and pushed her in, shutting the door with Monisha in.

"Enjoy your gift" Eliana released Monisha and walked away. Monisha looked round her room with lazy eyes. Her eyes stopped on the naked man who comfortably laid on her bed and seductively winked at her.

"You are?" She asked calmly

"Gad, what's your name beautiful?" Gad was a blondie with sharp blue eyes. He looked like some hot shot from Vaillads.

"Come here" he whispered and tapped on the empty spot on the bed. "Let me tell you a little bit about myself love"

Disgust and anger flowed down Monisha's blood. "Who gave you the right to lay on my bed?" She asked coldly, her eyes scrutinized him to the latter and most irrelevant object on earth. "Get up"

Gad felt a little bit nervous and intimidated by her aura, standing up seductively he strode towards her and smiled brightly "I love my woman feisty" he chuckled.

He was a little bit taller than her and huge at some point but Monisha didn't lift her gaze from his sculptured chest. Gad thought she was entranced by his body. "Wanna touch?"

"Kneel" he was taken aback at first but slowly he knelt before her. Monisha glared at him intensely as he knelt before her.

"This is the only point in your life, where your eyes meet mine" she spoke coldly. Beads of sweat began to form on Gad's face.

A FEW MINUTES LATER

Eliana and a maid stood by the door patiently waiting for Monisha. Eliana had purposely hooked up a noble man with Monisha to sooth the naughty girl's taste.

Monica stepped out of the room, her eyes still lazy and bored, her clothes still intact. All these angered Eliana.

"So..." Eliana stepped forward to ask.

Monisha ignored her and turned to the maid. "Dispose the body and change the drapes, curtains and furniture. The scent of that idiot still lingeres in my nose"
