Chapter 1:The council meeting
"Presenting Monisha Van del Moralé, heir of the Moralé's family" a harem stood by the door as he announced Monisha's presence. The King stepped in with Monisha.
The room was decorated in white and magenta drapes, the Kingdom seal was woven on the curtains and furniture. There was a huge round table at the center of the room. It had well furnished chairs round it. The ministers were all seated in the table awaiting Monisha's presence.
Two seats were empty in the table. They looked more distinguished from others.
Monisha had a cold gaze on the ministers sitted, she knew each and every one of them. A hand full were competent and reliable, the rest were no more than greedy pigs.
"Took you long enough to arrive" Jasper scoffed angrily, among all ministers he had a grim and distasteful look towards Monisha.
Monisha ignored his comment and took her seat right beside the king. "We may begin". Sirius stretched out his hands and the meeting began. All ministers laid down their evaluations over the years and the issue that need attention.
Monisha stared at the papers in front of her, most were complaints that involved money, Her money. "Minister Gabriel, I'm afraid your digits doesn't rhyme with the number of expenditures" her eyes trailed across the table to the bald man who sat in front of her. He looked fragile like glass, yet the extent of the greed in his brown eyes knew no bounds.
"W-well as you can see, the ports aren't being as reproductive as before" he studdered.
"Ehhh" Monisha hummed. "You must take me for a kid". Her gaze darkened and the room fell silent. "Embezzlement!!" She gently turned to look at Sirius. "Didn't I send a letter to dethrone these pigs?"
The ministers all had red faces, they were both angry and embarrassed by the fact a girl as young looking as Monisha was openly insulting them. "There's nothing wrong with the papers" Jasper was first to retort.
"Jassperrr!" A dark grin appeared on Monisha's face. She turned to the fat pig who once ran around in diapers. "You really are something"
"Your papers are beyond faulty, it's littered with vague digits. I hardly ever see improvement on your parts of cerdonia but I notice the hundreds of pounds you gain every day" Jasper's eyes spelled rage. "You all must really enjoy feeding off my wealth"
Her statement left them choking on any word that they had to spill." This isn't our fault though, the money given isn't enough" Jasper boldly defended his deeds.
"You don't say?" Monisha hummed in amusement.
"Your company gains double the amount of the country's revenue every year, yet we're given five percent of your profit to deal with the expense of the kingdom" he continued. "You end up with ninety five percent of the revenue"
Monisha was silent for a while, she closed her eyes and stared at the ceiling. "Do you idiots ever think of the reason why you don't have fangs in your nape sucking you dry" Albert shook hid head tiredly.
"Do you have the slightest idea why you embezzling pigs receive yearly supply of essential food?" Monisha stretched out her limbs and opened her eyes. The room was dead silent. Most ministers looked ashamed, but Jasper looked more enraged.
"That doesn't change the fact that you have all those money to yourself" he growled.
"I established that industry before your father was born Jasper " Monisha's voice thundered. The room grew dim the lights blew out. "How dare you question me and how I spend my money?"
Beads of sweat gradually formed on Jasper's forehead, he felt hot and suffocated. He turned to Monisha who had red flames in her eyes. His throat dried up and his voice vanished. "Need I remind you the only reason why you sit here amongst the elites is because of the king, I know you Jasper. You're no more than a weed that I'll trample on"
Jasper gulped in dry air, his skin began to burn harshly causing excruciating pain. But he was beyond surprised when he heard the screams of another person in the room.
"Forgive me!!" Gabriel screamed in pain, his skin burned up like meat. His hair was on fire and his clothes had already burned out. "No please!!" He stood up from his seat and ran around in pain. No matter where he rubbed his body on, the flames never spread or died out.
"Did you think I wouldn't find out about the black market you sponsored by the port?" Her eyes never left Jasper.
"Ahhh, help me" Gabriel rolled on the floor, his bones began to peek out his melting flesh. His eyeballs dried up and bursted due to the intense heat. "Ahhhh!!!!" He screamed loudly, his bony fingers dragged down melting skin as he tried to scratch his face. He looked nothing more than a skeleton. His organs fell down and dropped on the marble floor. Right after his body fell to the ground.
All ministers held their breaths, Sirius on the other hand looked at the already dead Gabriel with pity. Monisha finally looked at the burning body and smiled darkly. "Keep this in mind" she turned to the ministers "I'm watching you, the dirty deeds you think is hidden in your closet, i can see them"
Her melodic voice echoed in the room as she laughed. sweat roll down their faces and their bodies shook in fear. "know you can't hide anything from me"
Chapter 2:The right choice
Monisha walked side by side with Sirius, their footsteps echoed down the hallway. Sirius looked troubled and distressed but did his best to compose himself.
"Monisha" he started calmly "my sons returned safely from the continent overseas"
"I see" Monisha sounded uninterested and bored. Her blood red eyes stared blankly at the interior design of the palace.
"Leif, he's quite competent and reliable as a prince. His teachers overseas speak highly of him" Sirius smiled as he sang the praises of his son. "I'd want him to succeed after I am gone. Believe me, he is an exceptional child"
Monisha didn't say a word, she only listened to the words of Sirius. "I believe he wouldn't just make a great king but an excellent husband and father". Albert quietly tailed the both of them from a good distance. Though he could easily eavesdrop on their conversation if he pleases but he'd rather not.
Sirius smiled proudly, he had thought of a convenient way of bringing up his son into a conversation with Monisha. If he praise and talk highly of his son. It would build a much more stronger interest in Monisha to consider getting married to him.
"Sirius" Monisha broke the silence. "I believed you said your sons, or was my ears faulty"
Sirius gulped in nervously and cleared his throat. "Of course not"
"Magnus is a good child, though he has a few downcast attitude. He's a good man" Sirius said shortly, he didn't want to plunder on Magnus.
A slight smile drew up on her lips. 'humans' she thought to herself. "Sirius, you do know that I'd never be bias in choosing an heir?" She hummed. "Don't rob Peter to pay Paul"
She turned to him and tilted her head "I accept the fact Marisa was a unique human, that doesn't mean you treat your wife's child as a muddy rock by the sea shore". Sirius looked away, a little bit ashamed of his actions in the past. "If Leif is as you sat then so be it he attains the throne"
She turned to Albert and walked towards the exit leaving Sirius. "Sirius" she halted and turned to him. "You do know the requirements for a king right?" Her eyes bored into his, sending shivers down his spine. "Have a good day King Sirius".
Albert walked behind Monisha quietly, he could tell by a glance that she was worried and probably angry. "I wish I could burn them all"
Monisha smiled, her eyes twitched continuously. She stopped and turned to Albert with a frown. "Why are they so daft and unrealistic?"
Albert smiled and turned to the castle. "When wealth and power are involved, we all lose our sense of reasoning" he hummed wisely. "That's just how living beings are"
"Don't classify me with those imbeciles, I am a being not driven by lust for withering assets" Monisha rolled her eyes and walked towards her carriage. She felt fatigued, tired, exhausted but at the same time ambitious and strong. "It's not over yet Isha, stand strong"
She got into the carriage and Albert after her. He closed the door and ordered the coachman. "To Vaillads"
Monisha stared at the castle through the window, her eyes were focused on a window not too far away from the room where the meeting was held. She scoffed internally and rolled down the curtains of the carriage, folding her hands she rested on the couch and stared at the ceiling.
"Will I ever save her?" She asked no one in particular but Albert felt obligated to answer the question.
"Do you want to save her?" He asked in return, Monisha frowned and sat straight facing the man who sat opposite her.
"What is the point of all this, if I don't want to save her?" She had an oblivious and annoyed tone.
"Then that's your answer, it isn't all about having goals to achieve " he had a serious expression on his face. "It's about making sure you achieve those goals, it might look little but one day your tiny drops of sweat would bear fruits "
"That's not logical" Monisha rolled her eyes and arranged her dress. She avoided eye contact with Albert and sat still. The man had a soothing voice that sent shivers and warmth down her spine. "I'll have to discuss a few things with the king of Vaillads"
She broke the silence and stared at the houses and home of the natives of cerdonia. Albert hummed and turned to the window beside him.
Chapter 3:The kingdom of Vampires
The trip to Vaillads was a day and a half, it was always tiring traveling from kingdom to kingdom, that's why Monisha hardly accepted the invites given to her.
She laid peacefully on the carriage couch while Albert watched over her diligently. He has sworn an oath to her father that he'd keep her safe no matter what.
Flashback
Monisha sat by her father's dead body watching the window where her mother had left. Her peachy eyes were blood stained with teary blood drooling over her sides. She looked weak and confused yet her rage and pain was filled in the quiet room.
"Milady, this is the fourth day" Albert stood beside her with a bow. "At least let us give Master a befitting burial before his body decay"
Monisha didn't move an inch neither did she say a word. Her eyes were fixed on the stars. Eliana stood by the door, her hands were clasped together and her lips pressed against each other to form a thin line.
"You haven't eaten, nor had blood" Albert continued, he was getting more flustered than worried. He didn't want the child to fall ill. "Your health, it isn't stable yet please at least drink blood"
"Albert, drain every blood flowing in his body..." Her voice was hoarse and gruff. "That would be my meal"
"But we have to bury your father..." He stared at her in disbelief.
"If you remove bones from my fish, then you can easily remove the bones in his body. Bury the bones instead, I'll eat his flesh" Monisha sat up and dusted her gown.
"Eliana" Eliana jolted and stepped forward quickly. "Prepare a bath for me" just as Eliana was about to leave she added. "It should be bloody "
Both Eliana and Albert stared at each other surprised and scared.
Albert had never in his life felt the shivers that ran down his spine till this day. The aura Monisha had at that point was synonymous to only one Master he had ever acknowledged. Dracula, the prince of darkness.
Yet in those blood stained eyes he could clearly see the cracks and pieces of a broken heart. It was only recently she loosened up, she became a little bit social. Albert smiled at how fast thirty years could pass by like the twinkle of an eye.
Monisha had woken up a few hours before they arrived at Vaillads. Coming here always reminded her that she was close to something her heart sincerely wished for but she could never reach it no matter how hard she tried growing up onisha put aside her taste for revenge and focused on the wish of her parents looking at the houses and vampires she passed by she smiled internally the streets of Valliard's was more dark and gloomy than Sedona and was also backward in development.
"It's been seven decades since I came here yet it seems like nothing has changed" she commented
"the sun is covered with cloud the houses are painted dim and gloomy colors the people are all chinned up and chest out. Vampires are so proud and pompous no wonder they do not get along with any species apart from their kind"
"Well that is your nature" Albert chuckled lightly.
"Their nature sucks " Monisha sighed and relaxed on the seat. "Uncle Noah seems to be the only vampire that doesn't get on my skin around this parts" she mumbled to herself.
"You look tensed if you ask me" Albert hummed and turned to the window. A mischievous smile creeped on his face. "Is it because of Stefan "
Monisha's demeanor turned to rage and dissatisfaction. "Affirmative "
"That incident occurred over nine decades" Albert shook his head.
"He called me a freckled warthog with eye balls for breasts" a vein popped on her forehead. Albert cringed as he remembered how the event ended. Monisha burnt down Stefan's manor with him tied up on the balcony.
He had never seen her so enraged in his life. She received a lot of scolding from the high court. So much that she was banned from Stefan's residence. That was the end of her betrothal and any other chance of Monisha getting married. All eligible bachelors avoided her at a glance.
Their carriage finally stopped in front of her uncle's mansion. The building was painted in black and gold. It had a tall fence covered in thick grape vines. Monisha took her time to admire the entrance of her uncle home.
"Welcome Lady Moralé" a man hurriedly ran to them, he had a neatly shaved beard and a shinning globe for a head. He looked much older than Albert.
Monisha bowed to him alongside Albert. Marcus stretched his hand towards the open gate and led them into the building.
Marcus led them into the building, he was a few feets ahead of them while Monisha and Albert took their leisure time to sight seeing the interior design of the mansion.
"At least things are different in here" Monisha sighed while her finger tip brushed through the frame of a new painting. It was a painting of a full blood moon hidden behind dense grey clouds.
CLINK CLINK CLINK
Monisha continued to stare at painting ignoring the presence of the woman walking towards her. Albert and Marcus both bowed to the brunette woman. Her black glimmering hair swayed down her body resting on her shoulders. Half of her endowment was exposed due to the deep V neck shaped gown she wore. She had a black hand fan in her hand that matched her black and red threaded gown. Her face had a few wrinkles and her fox like eyes had folds beneath them. Her cheeks was sucked in, she had a deep frown on her on her face which grew deeper when she stood behind Monisha.
"If it isn't the Moralé" the woman scoffed with hate spilling out her tongue.
"Lady Mortricia, you're still kicking as ever" Monisha hummed not taking her eyes off the painting.
"Why are you here you insolent child?" Mortricia growled under her breath.
"I came hoping you were on the other side but oh well..." Monisha smiled sinisterly.
"Disappointed " Mortricia glared at her and chinned up trying to look down on the girl in front of her.
"Not really though, I prefer fattening my prey before devouring them" Marcus gulped in nervously, he feared that a blood bath could break out any minute. "To think my prey is getting dry by the passing year, you can't even grow right?" Monisha sucked her teeth, she folded her arm and raised her right hand to palm her chin with her index finger.
"I should have killed you that night" Mortricia looked regretful and enraged. The atmosphere turned densed and hard to breath in. Albert held his breath and clasped his hands behind his back.
"But you didn't, and look were that got you" Monisha chuckled causing Mortricia's face squeezed in despair.
"I have come to realized that you irk me not just because you are my great granddaughter but because you have that Moralé tongue"
"It's a gift Tricia, a gift God gave me to break mountains like you who think they'd never fall" slowly she turned to face the woman. Her blood red eyes were filled with nothing but bloodlust and revenge.
"One day, I'll burn you out and drive a melting rod down your throat" Mortricia gave off a deadly aura but Monisha wasn't fazed. "I will be your Angel of Death"
"You talk big for a puppy who whimpered under the dinning table that night" Mortricia scoffed and fanned herself.
"You tend to forget hag, even a wolf was once a puppy" Monisha smiled brightly before bowing to the woman and walking away. "The next time we meet do prepare to meet your maker" she hummed as she left the woman.
Mortricia stared at the girl who had just rained all manner of words on her. Her red eyes glimmered with anger, her hand squeezed her fan till it snapped in two. She was certain now that Monisha had to die, the sooner the better.
