Chapter 38 - A reflection of me

"stop right there, you bastard!"

I looked at Diana, who was running behind Nuka in wonder, as if she was chasing him.

"What's going on here?"

"I don't even know myself—"

A fiery ball, the size of a human head, was thrown toward Nuka from Diana.

Nuka threw himself to the ground right in front of me. The fiery ball was right in front of my face. Well, the speed of the fire ball was not like that of a gunshot. It was more like the speed of a knife slash.

I just needed to act quickly. When it got an inch away from my face, I bent back and the fire quickly passed over my head. I straightened up and looked back. The fire ball disintegrated in the air. It turned into small flames and then disappeared. By the time I turned my head back, Nuka had hidden behind me.

"Angela, save me."

Diana's eyes showed a bit of fear at what was happening, but she was still nervous and trying to control her anger.

"Come and face me like a man. Don't hide behind the others."

I was poker about the situation.

 'What's really going on here?'

"I didn't do that, I'm serious."

"If you're telling the truth, then stop hiding and come prove it."

"Angela, say something. Am I a thief?"

I gave him a gentle smile.

"How did you find me here?"

"Is it the right time to ask this question?" Nuka shouted.

"Nuka..." Diana muttered.

She slowly raised her fists. Her hands had turned red, and smoke was rising from them.

"This won't work; let's solve it with our fists."

"Angela!" Nuka called me in a tearful voice.

"You're an ungrateful person, I lent you my camera. How can you be so cruel to someone who has done you a favor?"

'Damn it, this brat is getting on my nerves again.'

"Guys, please keep your calm," the mysterious man said.

"Huh? Who are you? You don't look like you're from the school. Are you some kind of pervert?" Diana pointed at him.

"Why does all of you guys call me a pervert?"

"If you weren't, you wouldn't be showing off your chest."

"..."

The pervert began buttoning up his shirt with a choked voice.

"I just wanted to look attractive."

"In front of kids?"

"No, in front of the audience."

"What?"

"What?"

"..."

Frustrated, I pinched my nose between my fingers. I have a lot of warrior spirit and leadership, but I never had the politics for it. If I were in my past life, I would have resolved everything with fists and violence like Diana. On the other hand, I couldn't abandon Nuka. After all, he had done me a favor, and Azima's pride was still alive.

'I can't handle controlling situations like this...'

"Pervert, go bring the principal here," I said in a tone only he could hear.

"Is my official name now 'pervert'?"

"Quickly."

"But I can't..."

"Tell him you're my servant. Then I'll explain why I brought you here."

"What?"

"Stop talking back to me," I shouted.

"..."

My eyes were on Diana, who could break at any moment. But out of the corner of my eye, I saw the pervert quietly pass by us and go down the stairs. Nuka was still clinging to my arms from behind, looking worriedly at Diana.

"Diana, lower your fists," I said.

"Who the hell are you to give me orders? You're not even in our class."

"What—" I signaled Nuka not to speak.

"Diana—"

"Shut up!" she shouted.

I had pointed this out to her before. But now that she was standing in front of me, I understood more that Diana is a reflection of me. Without considering the consequences of her actions, she just unloads her anger on someone else. And in the end, regret only comes when it's too late.

'If it were you in this moment, what would you do? I've already crossed the line.'

With a swift move, I moved behind Nuka. I pushed him in front of Diana and kicked him in the butt.

"Ouch! What are you doing?"

Nuka turned back to me angrily.

"Don't let go of me that eas—"

"Shut up already! It's all your fault for coming to me for help instead of going to the principal."

"But they—""If your head stayed in your ass and you didn't stick your nose where it doesn't belong, this wouldn't have happened."

I glared at Diana, who was looking at me in astonishment.

"Hurry up and hit him."

Now, instead of anger, fear filled Diana's eyes.

"Angela, don't do this to me. Don't leave me," Nuka said with tears filling his eyes.

Diana's gaze swung between me and the crying Nuka. But she said nothing.

She clenched her fists again and moved toward Nuka. But it didn't take long before she hesitated, sighed, and opened her fiery fists. Now there was complete silence, and only the sound of Nuka's sobbing could be heard. Something that an angry person needs is an unexpected event. That's how they come to their senses and realize the consequences of their actions.

"You are so mean, Angela! You are really mean sob!"

I took my eyes off Nuka and fixed them into Diana's.

"Why did you want to hit him?"

Diana, annoyed, ran her hand through her long hair. She wanted to speak, but our attention turned towards Resita's voice. She came up the last step, panting.

"I... was coming up... huff... before all of you... huff..."

The four sections of her hair that were tied up were now completely unhold and stuck to her scalp. She was bent over her knees and taking deep breaths.

"Damn it! I've never moved so much in my life like this."

Her dazed eyes stared at Nuka's, and she let out a wicked laugh.

"So you managed to catch this little thief."
