"Young man, I'll leave you alone to think. I'm sure you need some privacy after just waking up," Mary said, standing up from the bed. She walked toward the door and paused, her hand resting on the handle. "I know you lied about not remembering anything, but I won't pry. I assume you have your reasons for not telling, but I hope it doesn't cause us harm."
"..." Lionel couldn't respond to her words. He simply stared at her until she left the room.
"She knows?" he asked himself in amazement. "How?"
'I guess being a healer helps. Maybe she noticed the rhythm of my breathing or something to tell I was lying. Well, that's her problem,' Lionel thought, shaking off the lingering influence of her words.
"Now, about me. What's on the ground?" he muttered aloud, his voice echoing softly in the quiet room.
