Chapter 16 - Chapter 9 - Part 02

I can feel her presence, I can smell her sweet fragrance, and my mind keeps going back to her. This is insane.

"Are you okay?" Her soft voice tickles my ear smoothly. She awakens the wanton thought in my mind unconsciously.

I cannot escape her. I don't even want to.

"What? Yeah, I'm good." I gulped anxiously while looking at her clear eyes. "Why?"

Do I act suspiciously and she finds out?

"You were looking at me, but your mind is drifting elsewhere. And you're frowning so hard. Is there something wrong?" Her soft concern melts my worries away.

No, nothing's wrong. It's just me and my moronic, perverted mind going wild about you. I definitely cannot answer like that, so I settle for a simple "No, don't worry."

She looks a bit hesitant to say something more, so I turn my body toward her in an encouragement gesture to let her know that she could tell me anything.

She could tell me that she's an angel, and I would believe her.

Hell, even if she's a demon, I'd still f**cking want her.

She had me that far, far gone.

"Uh.. I know we just met and all, but I want you to know that you can trust me with anything. I'm not really good at giving advice, but I'll be here to listen." In a hurry, she adds, "Only if you want to."

It's as if she's afraid that I feel pressured into giving her information and leaking it out, but here's the thing. I can feel her sincere words through her eyes.

My mama always says that the eyes never lie. Some people have been through so much they have clouds hiding their truth but never the eyes.

And right now, I can feel her honest and sincere feelings through her unwavering gaze. And I feel that I can trust her with anything.

Hell, I'm the one who invites her to our apartment to have dinner in a half hour into our first meeting.

I, myself, willingly bring her to the place that has been chosen for its top rank and tight security.

She's practically a stranger that I meet at a club in a short time. I'm not in a phase where I would be stupid enough to bring any women to our place to raise a scandal and appear on the headlines. But here we are.

I blame it all on my idiotic mind and weak heart. And my horny self. Fuck. I'm a mess.

"Luke...?"

I turn to look at her. Her soft voice calling me brings me back to reality. There's a question in her eyes that tells me she's confused about me spacing out again.

Maybe she starts to realize that I'm a crazy shitball in the head and is probably regretting her decision to come with me.

Hell, I can even feel the weird gaze Dan is throwing at me through the rearview mirror. I was the one who told him before about 'no chicks' rules tonight before we set out to the club. Now look at me.

"I'm okay, Jeanette. Don't worry about it." I grip my hands together tightly as I come to realize what I've become since I met her.

I'm a crazy motherfucker, a creep and a pervert. No question asked.

And I think I'm crazy enough to say that I'm starting to fall for her charms. Little by little.

"I'll go park. You guys go ahead." Dan tells me after he stops near the private elevator for the highest floor. It's just a few feet away and soon we will be safe inside. Dan understands the shorter we have to walk, the better. He's one smart guy.

I look around one more time to make sure no one's around before I step out of the car and hold out my hand to Jeanette. She grabs my hand gingerly after a few seconds of hesitation. So adorable.

The sweet smile I get from helping Jeanette is equal to 'What's wrong with you?' look from Dan. Fuck you, Dan.

"Thank you for the ride, um... I'm sorry, what's your name?" Jeanette blushes shyly, and I rejoice in my heart when I see her like this. But I'm also jealous that she's asking another man's name in front of me.

I was about to say that she doesn't have to know his name when Dan beats me and tells her instead.

"Jordan. But these fuckers call me Dan."

I can see her eyebrow going up a bit at him cursing me, like she's not familiar with it. But she holds it in and gives him a polite smile. Lucky bastard.

"I'm Jean. Thank you again for the ride."

I grab her hand and pull her out of the car when I see Dan open his mouth to answer her. No more.

You have enough luck for tonight, bastard.

I smirk at him as I close the door with a loud bang. He shows me the finger as he drives away. I chuckle at that, satisfied that he's gone.

Now it's just the two of us.

"What's so funny?" She looks at me with a smile. A hint of curiosity in her eyes.

Have I told you that I like the way she looks at me? The best damn thing.

"Nah, it's a guy thing. Let's go." I won't tell her about what a jealous bastard I am. That's for later use.

I turn to walk toward the elevator with her hands in mine. Let's not waste any precious time tonight. I only have a few hours to stare at her to my heart's content.

The elevator opens with a ding after I swipe my card, and I let her go inside first. I'm a gentleman for her. It comes so naturally that it baffles me before, but I know she deserves it.

As we go up to the highest floor inside the narrow elevator, I can feel the sexual tension crackling between us. I see her hands fidgeting with the tip of her clothes through the mirror elevator. I can't even look her in the eyes because I'm afraid I'd start kissing her here and now.

I'm sure she doesn't want our first kiss here in the damn elevator. And I'm sure as hell don't want to be interrupted when I do have a chance to kiss her. Once is just not enough.

I need to start a conversation to distract both of us before we do something we'll both regret, but my tongue is dead.

My fucking tongue is dead, and my horny brain is useless.

The building tension is making me sweat with anticipation. The feels of her smooth hand and the sweet smell coming from her are driving me crazy.

She's everywhere, all around me; surround my senses with all about her.

Goddammit, just say something!

The elevator dings, it opens and I finally find the will to say something. Even if it's probably one of the stupidest things I ever say to her in this moment. It's ironic how my brain and my mouth totally do the opposite of each other. But hey, it's honesty. It's what I want.

And I'll be fucking lying if I say I'm not excited with the prospect of it turning into a reality.

I grab her hand tight as we step out of the elevator into the deserted hallway. We are just a few steps away from the elevator, and the possibility that other people come and go hasn't even crossed my mind when I suggest this.

In this moment, I'm just Luke, the brainless, horny guy in front of the girl he's crushing over for the last hour.

"Can I kiss you?" My voice hoarse with anxiety and expectation.

There, I say it. Jeanette, I hope you say yes.
