The school bell rang, signaling the end of the day. Jay was waiting for Erin outside their classroom, eager to walk him home. He had been feeling a little insecure lately, wondering if Erin was really into him. He couldn't help but feel a little jealous whenever Erin talked to other people, especially other guys.
As Erin walked out of the classroom, Jay noticed that he was talking to a tall, handsome boy with a warm smile. They were laughing and talking animatedly, and Jay felt a pang of jealousy.
"Hey, Erin," Jay said, trying to sound casual. "Ready to go?"
Erin turned to him, his face lighting up with a smile. "Hey, Jay," he said. "Yeah, just a sec."
He turned back to the other boy and said something, then he turned back to Jay. "This is my friend, Alex. He's new to school. Alex, this is Jay."
Jay felt a surge of awkwardness. He extended his hand, but Alex just smiled and gave him a quick nod. He then turned back to Erin, and they both started walking towards the school gates.
"So, Alex, you're new here?" Jay asked, trying to make conversation.
"Yeah, I just moved here from California," Alex said. "It's a lot different than where I'm from."
"It's definitely different," Jay agreed. "But it's good to meet you."
As they walked, Jay noticed that Erin and Alex were getting closer. They were laughing and talking, and they seemed to be enjoying each other's company. Jay felt a knot of anxiety forming in his stomach.
Suddenly, Alex stopped walking and turned to Erin. He put his arm around Erin's shoulder and pulled him close, giving him a quick hug.
"It was great seeing you, Erin," Alex said. "I'll see you tomorrow."
Erin smiled and hugged him back. "See you tomorrow," he said.
Jay watched them, his heart sinking. He felt a surge of jealousy and confusion. Who was this guy? Why was Erin hugging him?

Jay: Hey, Erin. Ready to go?
Erin: Hey, Jay. Yeah, just a sec. This is my friend, Alex. He's new to school. Alex, this is Jay.
(Jay shakes Alex's hand.)
Jay: So, Alex, you're new here?
Alex: Yeah, I just moved here from California.
Jay: It's good to meet you.
(Alex hugs Erin.)
Alex: It was great seeing you, Erin. I'll see you tomorrow.
Erin: See you tomorrow.
(Jay watches them, feeling jealous and confused.)
