Elena swallows nervously because she has gone from looking out the window at the beautiful England to looking straight at the gate that leads directly to Hollow Prep Academy. At first, she thought the nerves she got were because she was sitting next to Pierre, but no it's not just that. The thought of going to a new school is scary to her.
She has never been to a boarding school before or a school filled with rich people before. Sure she has been friends with rich kids at her old school back on earth but they weren't all rich in that school in the school she's going to be enrolled in right now they're all rich, all of them. Some are even royals.
She might be a princess but she wasn't raised as one she was raised in a small town, it's not like she grew up in a castle.
Okay, she knows not to fret, because like Alex said. There's nothing to be intimidated about. But that's fucking Alex not her, she can't be easily intimidated but she can still be intimidated by the right people, rich people. Sons and daughters of kings, queens, princes, princesses, dukes, duchesses, prime ministers, musicians, star athletes, models, fashion designers and actors.
She was almost intimidated by the ball, but she was shocked by how nice most of them were.
The limo pulls up to the front of the school and she has to remember how to breathe. This is nothing, it's just a school. The school can't be that hard right?
Alex and Pierre step out of the limo and they open the door to let her come out. She has to come out quickly or else they think something is wrong with her. As soon as she steps out of the magically fueled vehicle. She looks up at the sky and there's the sun that has never once threatened to blind her, the pinkish-bluish sky and then the pink clouds that look like cotton candy and the rainbows. It seems like the rainbows follow her specifically. Won't that be comforting to hear?
She looks over at the flags in front of the school. The school flag is a golden-coloured material that has wings, two swords and a crown. The school's logo. And then there's the United Kingdom's flag, it's not like the flag back on earth. It's a purple and gold. The royal colours. And it has the face of the sun in the middle. The sun represents the first fairies that were ever made. The light fairies.
"Ah, Princess Elena, welcome." She hears someone with a high-pitched voice in a British accent say, Elena whips her head around to face a petite round woman with blond hair in a bun, rosy cheeks and a blue and white polka dot dress and blue flats walking toward her with her hands in the air.
She looks like a fairy Godmother. Could this be the Headmistress? Alex states she's scary. There's nothing scary about her at all, the only scary person here is the man with long white hair and a pointy nose scowling at her.
She hugs Elena. "Oh, it's so nice to finally meet you. Please." she claps her hands. "You know where to take her bags." and just like that a bunch of pixies carry her bags to wherever.
"Hello, boys well done. I'm sure Mr Volkov is proud of you." She says to Alex and Pierre and they both look at him, he doesn't look like he's proud. He just has a frown on his face.
"He doesn't care." they both say at the same time. And the petite lady looks like she just tasted something bitter like she she just regrets thinking the man over there cares one bit.
"I'm proud of you guys." The girl with the short blue hair says pounding her palm with her fist. She looks cool. She has a tomboyish character to her.
For one she isn't wearing a skirt like Elena but navy blue pants, the sleeves of her shirt are rolled up and she doesn't even have a tie on. She's a tomboy.
"Ah, yes let me introduce everyone." the petite woman says. "I'm Mrs Glenda Dale I'm your house mother. And this right here is Princess Francesca Chiara Beatrice Lombardi."
"Mrs Dale. What did I say about you calling me a princess?" Francesca says, a frown on her face. She hates the P word so much.
"You're a princess?" but that doesn't stop Elena from asking her about the P word.
"Gods, I hope not," she says in a grimace. Calling her a princess would be like calling her a slut. Very distasteful and disrespectful.
"She's the Princess of Italy," Glenda whispers and she nods smiling. And Elena nods, she already knew she was from Italy. Number one her accent and number two her name. Or rather, names. Will this be a bad time to say she met some of her family members at the ball?
"Princess," Alex says sarcastically and he laughs, Pierre joins in.
Francesca heard him and she let out a sigh. "Please just call me Fran," Francesca tells Elena, rolling her eyes. And Elena nods.
"Got it," she says. "Who's that?" Elena asks nodding toward the man who looks like Luscious Malfoy.
"Oh, that's the house father, Victor Volkov." Mrs Glenda says. Elena waves at him and he growls and goes back inside.
"He's very nice," Glenda says with a smile on her face.
"Yeah, very," Fran says sarcastically.
"Francesca here will be showing you around the school. So you can get familiar with the place." Glenda says and Elena looks over at Fran, Fran puts on a brief smile before it disappears as quickly as it appeared. "But first. We have assembly. Come along kids." Glenda walks ahead of her and the kids follow.
Alex links his hands with Elena's as they walk. His face now closer to her.
"You're going to love it here," Alex says.
Elena smiles hoping she does love this place. The school looks good. From the security to the environment to the architecture.
The school looks like any elite school. The ceiling is glass and it's a dome. The floor is as clean as anything she's ever seen. There are paintings of old men but the one in the middle catches her eye. It's her ancestor.
King Edward III Gerald Baron-Grant. The man who founded the school back in 1903. when it was just a school for fairies. It wasn't until 1925 that I became a school for anyone, as long as you're rich though which Elena thinks is a bit elitist. Shouldn't everyone have a high standard of education?
They did this back on earth and it's disappointing to see they do it here.
The school is beautiful though, she'll give it that. She can't keep her eyes off of the students who are walking by, they're all looking at her and staring, they're whispering. But Elena doesn't stare back. She just lifts her head and continues walking like it's none of her business.
They get into the large auditorium and in this auditorium there the lights on the ceiling look like stars. Either the bulb lights are shaped like stars or those are actual stars.
Glenda goes up front to join the staff but Elena follows Alex, Pierre and Fran to the backseat where they exchange pleasantries with two other elves.
"You guys came back alive." The girl elf, with long dark hair and pale skin, says clapping her hand. "And you must be-"
"Princess Elena Victoria Katherine Baron-Grant." the boy elf with spiky hair brown hair, golden brown skin and a Romanian accent says. He takes out his hand for her to shake and she does that.
"Nice to meet you but please call me Elena," Elena says with a smile but she's also squeezing her face at the way her name was called.
"I don't know why they feel the need to call us by our full name," Fran says cursing in Italian.
"Nice to meet you Elena, I'm Adrian Ciobanu, and this is Margaret Aetos."
"Hello, Elena, welcome to our school and you can just call me Greta," Greta says in a Greek accent.
"Thanks, it's so nice to meet you both," she says.
Adrian hits Alex with his elbow. "You didn't tell me she was this beautiful."
"Oh shut up."
Elena blushes but she doesn't look at Adrian, she looks at Pierre whom she caught staring at her. He looks away smiling. And so does Elena.
The lights go dim and it's the queue for everyone to sit down. But some students refused to sit. And there's an older woman, in her forties with long beautiful red hair in a blue suit looking directly at the students standing.
"That will be four points removed for Crystal Bianchi, Koch and Rita Stone," she says and everyone begins to murmur in shock. The people she called sit with a quickness but it's already too late.
"Anyone else wants to remain standing?" She asks looking around and no one speaks or stands, everyone remains seated.
"What I thought."
"And that scary chic is Headmistress Cassandra Rodriguez," Alex says to Elena in a whisper and all Elena can think is. Alex was right, this bitch is scary.
