Chapter 3 - Start The Day

K and Daw took in the sights of the bustling, advanced city around them. Cars and public transport whizzed through the air above, weaving between the towering buildings in a chaotic but mesmerizing rhythm. Slinging his bag over one shoulder, K pulled out a sleek hoverboard like a skateboard without wheels, hovering just above the ground, humming softly as it activated.

With a grin, he glanced over at Daw, who hovered close by, wings fluttering with excitement. "Daw, let's go! We've gotta hurry before we're late!"

K hopped onto the hoverboard, feeling the familiar thrill as it lifted him off the ground. Daw zipped beside him, his metallic body glinting in the morning light. Together, they soared through the city streets, weaving between people and dodging the shadow of passing aircars, racing against time with adventure gleaming in their eyes.

They headed swiftly toward Cahaya Academy. This place wasn't just an academy,it was a beacon, established to nurture students and foster a new generation of beings capable of interacting harmoniously with other species. Ever since the brave knoght king's victory over the Dark Lord, creatures from other worlds had started to appear. They arrived not only to do business or seek work, but some, unfortunately, sought to exploit this new era by causing chaos.

Over the past few decades, however, the leaders of Earth had envisioned a different future. They aimed to shape individuals into protectors known as the Galaxy Keepers, guardians of peace and safety for Earth. To pave the way for this vision, the old guilds and traditional orders of knights were disbanded, their roles reimagined under a unified identity.

Now, Cahaya Academy stood as the training ground for these future Galaxy Keepers, where students of all species could learn to uphold justice, defend their world, and build a united society.Back to Present.

K felt a rush of excitement as they approached the academy gates,K sighed in relief as he made it just before the bell rang. But before he could enter, a figure stepped into his path a tall, strikingly beautiful young woman, her presence commanding attention. She had the elegant build of a model, strong and poised, with an air of confidence that made K momentarily pause.

She was from the El species, hailing from the distant planet of El Mak. Known for their tall stature, the El were slightly larger than humans and were marked by a unique feature: her hair was split into two colors, half white and half black, flowing in sharp contrast. Two small horns rested on her head, and her eyes glimmered with intelligence El were renowned for their sharp minds and advanced understanding.

K had heard the story of her people. The El had once thrived on El Mak, but their planet had been destroyed by monstrous creatures known as the Cancing. With no home to return to, they had sought refuge on Earth. She stood before him, her gaze intense, and K could tell she wasn't going to let him pass so easily.

"Oh no, not you again, darling," K groaned, putting on a playful grin as he looked at her. "Can't you let me pass just this once, my love, my dearest Lucy?"

He added a dramatic sigh, placing a hand over his heart as he gave her his best pleading look. But he knew better than to expect an easy pass Lucy was never one to back down, and he could see the flicker of amusement in her sharp gaze as she crossed her arms, clearly unimpressed by his theatrics.Yes, that's right Lucy had been K's girlfriend since their elementary school days. They'd shared countless memories, from childhood mischief to moments like these, where her stern expressions and his playful charm clashed in their usual banter.

Lucy was also a member of the student council at Cahaya Academy, tasked with enforcing the rules and taking disciplinary action against students who stepped out of line including K. This added an extra layer of challenge to their relationship, as she never hesitated to remind him of the rules, even if it meant holding him accountable.

Lucy crossed her arms, giving him a half-smile. "My dear troublemaker," she said, her tone affectionate yet firm. "I've loved you my whole life, but rules are still rules."

K let out a breath of relief, thinking he might be in the clear, until she added, "But you're thirty minutes late. So, with all my love, I'm giving you this 'love ticket.'" She held out a slip, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

K stared at the ticket, stunned, feeling both amused and resigned. His beloved girlfriend had handed him an official detention slip for after school.

"Don't be mad, sweetheart," she said, playfully teasing him. "I'm just doing my job."

K managed a faint smile, a mix of affection and exasperation. "Yeah, yeah," he muttered, taking the ticket with a sigh, knowing he'd never win against her dedication to the rules.

To be continue.
