Chapter 64 - chapter 62

Ren is standing in front of the window of his room, staring into the night. His Incubi mask rests in his hand, the cool air brushing against his face.

"Ahh, the night sky... so vast and dark. So calming, yet so boring life I have."

He opens the window, the cool breeze brushing against his face.

"I should get going. I have to give the Cameron family the money for her treatment. A deal is a deal, after all," he murmurs, slipping on his mask. With a soft whisper of air, he steps off the ledge and floats up, his body carried effortlessly into the night.

As he flies over the city, his gaze falls on the twinkling lights below. The buildings seem insignificant, like small dots in the distance.

"This is so boring," he thinks, his tone laced with boredom. "Sure, I made a deal as Incubi, and Incubi always fulfills his deals… but it's all so repetitive. I want to do something fun tonight."

He speeds up, eager to get the task over with. "Maybe after this, I'll visit Elisha… see what she's decided."

After some time, Ren arrives at Cameron's house, flying quietly over the rooftops. He slows down, hovering above the house for a moment. "Why does it feel so… quiet?" His eyes narrow as he scans the area below.

"Something feels off."

He descends slowly, his instincts prickling. The hairs on the back of his neck stand up, but nothing seems immediately wrong. "Maybe I'm overthinking it," he mutters, landing softly in front of the house.

He walks to the door and feels eyes on him, but he can't see anyone nearby.

Unbeknownst to him, Agent Carter and her team are hidden, watching every movement from the moment he arrived.

Carter watches from her concealed position, her heart racing as she sees Ren descend. "He's flying. I saw the images, but seeing it in person... he's even more dangerous than we thought. I need to capture him."

Ren knocks on the door. "Mr. Cameron? I'm here," he calls out, his voice breaking the stillness.

But it's silent, no one answers. He frowns, knocking again, louder this time. "Cameron? It's Incubi. Open up."

But still nothing. Ren's heartbeat quickens, a subtle sense of dread creeping in.

Something's definitely wrong here.

In the shadows, Harris watches, waiting. His hand hovers over his walkie-talkie, eyes fixed on Ren's every movement.

He's starting to suspect something, Harris thinks. We have to move now. Everyone ready,

Suspecting the silence, Ren begins to turn back. But just as Ren is about to turn, Harris snaps into action. "Now! Move, move, move!" His voice crackles through the earpiece, and in an instant, agents burst from their positions, rushing out of the shadows and surrounding Ren, their weapons drawn, pointed directly at him.

Ren freezes. His heart pounds in his chest, eyes wide with shock. What the hell? His mind races. Who are these people?

"Do not move!" Harris shouts, his voice sharp with authority. "Hands where I can see them. Do not try anything, or we'll shoot!"

Ren's breath comes in shallow bursts, panic gripping him. His heart pounds violently in his chest, and beads of sweat form on his forehead.

"Who are these people? Am I getting caught? Is this it?" His mind race, lifting his hands slowly, his pulse thundering in his ears.

I can't let them catch me. I can't.

"Keep your hands where I can see them," Carter commands, stepping forward with her gun aimed squarely at Ren's chest. "Take off your mask, slowly."

Ren stands frozen, his mind scrambling for a way out. "I can't do that." He whispers.

"I said take off your mask," Carter repeats, her tone hardening. "This is your last warning."

Ren feels trapped. His muscles tense, but he forces himself to remain still. If I take it off, everything's over.

"Take. Off. The. Mask," Carter demands, her finger hovering over the trigger.

Ren stammers, "I… I can't do that."

"He sounds scared, but he is dangerous. I must capture him." Carter thinks, eyes narrowing. "What's your name?"

"Incubi," Ren manages, his voice trembling.

"What's your real name," Carter barks, stepping closer, her presence oppressive. "You will be shot if you don't answer."

Before Ren can respond, he sees Cameron and his family being dragged out by one agent, their terrified faces pale in the moonlight. Emily is sobbing uncontrollably, while Cameron pleads, "Please… Angel… forgive us!"

"Last chance," Carter warns. "Tell us who you are, or your associates will be shot."

Ren's eyes dart between the trembling family and the agents closing in on him. His thoughts spin wildly, searching for an escape.

I can't get caught like this. No, I need to think!

As Carter reaches out to cuff him from behind, her gun aimed, Ren snaps. "Don't come any closer!" he shouts, his voice filled with desperation.

The agents immediately tense, their fingers twitching on their triggers, but Carter doesn't stop. "Do not move!" she yells, moving forward. "This is your last—"

"Ren clenches his fists. I won't let them capture me, I can't."

He slowly turns to Carter when she is coming to cuff him. Harrish shouts, looking at Ren move. "Do not move," but Ren does anyway.

"You shouldn't come closer, agent," Ren speaks to Carter, looking at her.

"You can't get away," Carter says, taking a step forward. "You should surrender peacefully. We don't wanna use force against you."

Ren: "You can't capture me. I haven't done anything wrong."

Carter: "Laws are for normal people. If you surrender peacefully, we won't hurt you."

Ren: "You can't capture me. I don't want to be captured."

Carter: "Don't resist, or try anything. You will be shot."

Carter takes another step closer to cuff Ren. But, in a flash, Ren sends out a pulse of telekinetic energy, gripping Carter's body and controlling her every movement. Her eyes widen in horror as she feels herself freeze, her mouth sealed by an unseen force.

I've got to act fast. Ren tightens his grip on her, using her as a human shield. Carter's thoughts are frantic—she tries to scream, to warn the others, but nothing comes out. Her body betrays her, moving under Ren's command.

Ren doesn't move and controls Carter as a puppet, stepping her closer to him. He controls her as though she is moving naturally.

"Let me go," Carter's mind screams, but all she can do is move as Ren directs.

When she is close to Ren to cuff her (under Ren's control), Ren whispers into her ear, "You smell good. I'll make sure to fuck you really hard that you scream your lungs out if you ever come after me again."

At that moment, Ren releases a telekinetic wave outward. The force of it knocks the agents off their feet, making them fall backward with cries of shock.

"Ahhh!" they shout, their voices filled with panic and confusion.

As Carter stumbles back, she finally breaks free of Ren's control, falling to the ground with a gasp.

"Capture him!" she shouts, her voice raspy from the sudden release.

Ren leaps into the air, his wings of telekinesis spreading wide as he launches himself upward, going at full speed to get away.

Harris is the first to recover, scrambling to his feet and firing his gun into the sky. "Don't let him get away!" he yells, firing wildly as Ren ascends, the bullets zipping past him.

"Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh"

Ren's heart races as he flies higher and faster, pushing himself to his limits. "I'm almost out of range." He thinks, when suddenly, a sharp pain tears through his leg, sending a jolt of agony through his body. Ren gasps, yelling in pain. Aaahhhhhhh…?

He looks down, blood trailing from his thigh. They shot me.

The pain intensifies, and his flight becomes unstable as he struggles to maintain focus. Ren's breath hitches, panic clawing at his chest.

"I have to get away quickly..."
