_The next day_
Alaric walked out of his room, hugged in his arms were two large folded papers. Inside each one was a print plan of what he had in store for the mining ground.
Took him about three hours and his skill Civil planner to pull it off.
Since the skill allowed him to access various abilities such as, 3d pen, holographic illustration, danger alert and so on pertaining to building stuffs, he was more than well pleased.
"Good morning, Lord Alaric."
Ava greeted. She has been waiting outside his room.
"Uhn...Ava? What are you doing out here?" Alaric asked.
"Waiting for you to wake up." She replied.
"..."
"..."
"Why aren't you looking me in the eye?"
"What do you mean?"
Alaric squinted his eyes, his focus still on Ava who was looking to the side as if her lord was some kind of ghost.
"Ava..." He called out again. "this is an order... look at me."
This made Ava flinch a bit, it was the first time he had ever used his authority on her.
She slowly turned her body to face him, her head now raising.
Finally, she locked gazes with him. Not only was her face beet red, she was also sweating heavily.
Pfft! Hahaha!
"No way, you've been thinking about my monster since yesterday!" Alaric laughed as he pointed at her.
"No I have not!" Ava replied fast, trying to save her dignity; though she looked away the moment her gaze went towards his crouch.
"Oh my, was my stuff really that good, that you couldn't help but think about it?" Alaric teased.
Ava could barely say a word, how could she? Alaric was right.
She was barely able to get a good shut eye the night before. Every time she closed her eyes, she would imagine something sexual with Alaric, causing her to wake up again.
Ava was more then sure she had no romantic feelings towards Alaric. But yet...
"It's okay, I'm truly sorry you couldn't forget about me..." Alaric placed his hand on her shoulder, "But hey, I know something that can help you forget about my strong manly excalibur".
He said this with the most devious smile known to man.
"Something?" Ava was confused, but could her master possibly give her.
Alaric deepened his smile in response.
Before long, he had pushed her into his room, and minutes later dragged her out in a maid costume.
It was short, barely above her knee, companied by a black lingerie and black heels.
Ava was beautiful, no doubt about it. Being sexy was another topic entirely.
Her cleavage almost shot out from the opening on the chest, and her thighs, twice the size of a regular woman's own. The maid outfit could barely contain her ass, she had to pull it down with one hand.
"L...ord Alaric..." She called out, feeling even more embarrassed than she was before, "What is this...?"
"What is what? The maid outfit? Trust me, I'm just as surprised. If you weren't my knight, I might have fallen in love with you at this point." Said Alaric, his eyes scanning Ava's seductive body.
"Can you please stop staring at me like that...?" Ava frowned.
This was no ordinary frown.
Alaric's eyes widened when he also noticed the tiny detail.
Her cheeks were red, her lips curled so seductively it would take the strongest minds to resist it.
"Cute..." Alaric blurted out in shock.
As the word slip out from using mouth, he expected to get a remark from Ava, calling him a "Fool" or his opinion irrelevant.
Instead she just stood there quiet, eyes widened as if she had just seen a ghost.
"Ava?" He called out, shocked as to why she was solid as a statue.
"Are you... alright?"
Alaric stretched his hand forward, reaching for her cheeks.
The moment his hand touched her flesh, Ava fell to her knees, steam ozzing from her head.
"He complimented me..." She kept murmuring to herself, her lord barely able to ear her.
Alaric was confused, but he could see how red her ear was, even though she was hiding her face by looking to the ground.
'Is she blushing?' he thought to himself.
Ava blushing or acting anything like a regular girl was extremely rare. There was no way he was going to miss such a sight.
Alaric stole himself; he was going to go down so fast before she could react and get a sneak peek of her face.
Best moment to traumatize her later in the future.
"Yosh!"
He did it fast, falling to his knees.
His hand accidentally touched Ava's hair.
And she felt a surge of heat run through her body in that brief second.
"Hyaaaaaa~!"
The strange sound left her mouth before she punched Alaric on the chin.
——Baaam!
His back slammed against the wall, eyes white as he gently settled to the ground.
"Ah!"
Ava gasped in shock, her mouth covering her face as she watched her master loose consciousness on the ground.
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to..." She paused, taking her time to look left and right, just to make sure nobody saw her.
The view was clear.
Standing to her feet, Ava ran towards Alaric, kneeling beside him.
"Are you okay, Lord Alaric? Does your chin hurt? Stupid question, I punched you, of course it's going to hurt... Do you need me to take you to the doctor? Can you even hear me?"
She had began to panic. Her usually calm exterior slipping out of her fingers.
Her words could barely reach him, until...
Alaric's eyes widened when he sensed something.
Without saying a word, he stood up from the ground, slowing walking towards the window.
"Lord Alaric?" Ava followed his gaze.
'Don't tell me...' she covered her mouth, trying to hold back her incoming tears, '... the punch ruined his brain...how do I explain to the Baron and Baroness?'
"Ava... you're no longer a bronze rank knight... correct?"
Alaric asked from nowhere.
"Yes, I'm a diamond rank. I've been so since the day you raised my rank to one. Is something the matter...my Lord?"
She still thought he was going crazy.
"Okay. Say about, 16 soldiers marched into our barony, and they are about Silver to Gold rank... how many of them do you think you can handle?"
He asked yet another strange question.
Ava took a minute to process it.
"Are we under attack?!" She yelled the moment she realized.
Alaric didn't once keep his eyes away from the window, as he replied...
"Seems Neuk finally decided to make his move. Expected, very much expected."
He smiled.
