After two full days of preparation, Adele and Carol successfully completed the somatic cell transfer and implanted the activated embryo into Adele's body, despite the tension.
It would have been impossible without Carol's electrical stimulation activation technology and Adele's prime editing technology.
The two looked at each other with relief at the successful implantation.
"Now all we have to do is pray for a stable implantation, Adele," Carol said firmly.
But at that moment, the intercom in the lab rang. Federal agents had tracked their location and stormed into Brigham and Women's Hospital, prompting Professor Christine to urgently contact them.
"Adele, hurry!" Carol grabbed Adele's shoulder and said decisively. "I'll buy you some time!"
"No, let's go together!"
Adele cried out desperately, but Carol shook her head. "Your safety is more important."
"I'll be fine."
Tears welled up in her eyes, but Adele left Carol behind and headed toward the crowded emergency room.
"I'm sorry, Carol!" Adele shouted in her heart.
After Adele left, Carol remained in the lab, calmly organizing the experimental tools.
When the federal agents burst into the lab, she boldly shouted, "This is a restricted area!" but the agents easily subdued her.
Meanwhile, Adele quickly ran to the emergency room. The large Brigham Hospital, combined with the doctor's gown she was wearing, meant she aroused no suspicion.
"Carol, please be safe!" Adele prayed in her heart as she headed toward the Brigham Circle station.

Once on the MBTA C Line and leaving the Longwood Medical area, the outside scenery finally caught Adele's eye.
Perhaps feeling relieved, memories of commuting with Daniel during her undergraduate years flashed through her mind. The laughter and moments they shared felt as vivid as if they had happened just yesterday.
After getting off at Kenmore, Adele took a taxi to Logan International Airport. Knowing that Daniel would be flying back from Quillan over the Atlantic, she still tried to call him, but as expected, there was no connection.
Adele headed to the arrival level of Terminal E. Logan International Airport, despite its size, lacked many facilities, leaving her with few places to hide.
Hiding next to a Dunkin' Donuts store, Adele's heart was filled with excitement and anxiety as she waited for Daniel to arrive.
Finally, Daniel appeared. But at that moment, federal agents emerged from somewhere and surrounded him. Watching Daniel being dragged away without understanding what was happening made Adele's heart race wildly.
She called Daniel's name countless times in her heart, but his eyes were already drifting away, unable to find her.

As he had always been by her side from the moment Daniel approached her and spoke to her during their freshman year at M.I.T., Adele found it unbearable to think that she had to let go of him now.
Memories of their first meeting flooded back, overwhelming her emotions.
'During her freshman year at M.I.T., after asking a genetics professor about gene editing, she turned around and found the tall, handsome senior, Daniel, standing in her way.'
"Adele, do you have a moment?" Daniel said, looking intently at her.
Adele looked at him in surprise. "Of course, Daniel! What's up?"
"I see you're really interested in gene editing technology. Then come to Hayden Library starting tomorrow!"
