Chapter 34 - Breach

The tremors beneath the group's feet grew stronger, shaking loose dust and debris from the ceiling above. The suffocating weight of stone and shadow pressed in as they sprinted down the narrow passageway. Caleb took the lead, his rifle at the ready, while Ruby stayed behind, her eyes scanning their path for any sign of pursuit.

"We need to find a way out of here!" Finn shouted, his voice trembling with panic.

"Stay focused!" Ruby barked. "Panicking gets you killed."

Mia clutched the drive containing the encrypted files tightly in her hand, the weight of the discoveries bearing down on her. She could still feel the echo of the whispers in her mind, urging her forward, warning her of something just out of sight.

"Which way?" Zoe asked, gripping her knife as her eyes darted between the branching tunnels ahead.

Mia hesitated, her breath hitching as a faint glow caught her attention. "There," she said, pointing to the left.
