Kazuki woke up in his room, his still sleepy eyes making it a bit difficult for him to adapt to the calm morning. He shifted his gaze to his phone lying beside his bed. "Hmmm, it's still too early..." he murmured softly. Two days had passed since Kazuki and Rin moved into Kazuki's parents' house.
With a relaxed stride, Kazuki got out of bed and stepped out of his room. As soon as the door opened, his eyes were drawn to Rin, who was standing next to him.
Rin was wearing pink pajamas, looking like she had just woken up as well.
"What are you looking at?" Rin asked, gazing at Kazuki with a sharp look.
"Nothing, I just wanted to say your shirt needs to be fixed, okay?" Kazuki replied in a flat tone.
Rin turned to look at her shirt and quickly realized that two buttons at the top were undone. Her face flushed as she tried to cover it with both hands. "Did you... see that?" she asked, a bit panicked.
"Even if you're at home, at least you should wear a bra, okay?" Kazuki continued, stepping past Rin, who now looked even more embarrassed. Rin hurried back into her room, while Kazuki made his way down the stairs to the first floor.
In the dining room, Grandpa Fujita, who was friendly, greeted him with a smile. "Ohhh, you're up, Kazuki," he said while bringing breakfast.
Kazuki sat at the dining table, savoring the delicious aroma of the food. "Is Rin up yet?" asked Fujita, sitting in front of him.
"She's up; she'll come down soon," Kazuki replied casually as he enjoyed his breakfast.
A few minutes later, Rin finally came down from the second floor and headed towards the dining table, now wearing her school uniform.
Kazuki took in her appearance, ready to go to school. After finishing breakfast, Kazuki went upstairs to shower and put on his school uniform as well.
A few minutes later, Kazuki came down again in his uniform. Outside the gate, Rin was already waiting for him. "Sorry if I took a while," Kazuki said, feeling a bit guilty.
"Not at all," Rin replied casually, and they continued their walk to school.
Upon arriving at school, Rin was immediately greeted by one of her friends who hugged her tightly. "Rin, I've missed you so much!" the girl exclaimed enthusiastically.
Kazuki didn't want to interrupt them, so he walked towards his classroom door. He sat in the back seat, listening to his classmates' excited chatter.
"Hey, did you hear that?" one of his classmates asked.
"Hear what?" another replied.
"I heard there's going to be a new student joining our class; apparently, she's a girl."
"Really?!" another friend exclaimed a bit surprised.
A few minutes later, their homeroom teacher entered the room. Rin was already inside and sitting next to Kazuki.
"Alright, students, today we will have a new student join us," said Ms. Mery, their teacher. "You can come in now."
A young woman stepped inside and stood upright in front of the blackboard. Almost all eyes in the class were on her as she began to introduce herself. "My name is Kakushi Lena, nice to meet you all."
She had short white hair and striking blue eyes. However, Kazuki and Rin didn't pay much attention to her presence.
"Alright, you can sit there," said the teacher, pointing to a seat in front of Kazuki.
After Lena sat down, she turned around and smiled at Kazuki. "Nice to meet you," she said with a cheerful face.
Kazuki replied briefly, "Yeah, nice to meet you." The lesson began, as usual.
After school ended, Kazuki and Rin walked home. "Hey Kazuki, she's really pretty, isn't she?" Rin suddenly asked, making Kazuki confused.
"What's up with you?!" Kazuki replied, curious.
"Hmmm, nothing," Rin responded with a flat expression, wondering what was going on with her today, thought Kazuki...
As they walked home, they suddenly stopped. Kazuki and Rin saw a woman being harassed by two men. "It looks like she's being bothered," Rin said.
"I think so too," Kazuki replied, feeling concerned. They both quickly approached the woman.
"Stop bothering me! I just want to go home," the woman shouted. As she tried to leave, one of the men grabbed her arm.
"Hey, come on, at least give us your phone number," the man said in a teasing tone.
"Let go of my arm!" the woman said in a harsh voice.
"Hey, are you ashamed to be bothering a woman?" Kazuki's voice rang out clearly in the tense situation.
The two men turned, surprised to see Kazuki and Rin standing behind them. "What do you want, huh?" one of them challenged.
"It seems she said she wants to go home, right? Why don't you let her go?" Kazuki said calmly. "It's like you have no shame in yourselves, even asking a woman for her phone number that you just met."
The man was offended. "Hey kid, you better get out of here!" He pulled out a folding knife and pointed it at Kazuki's face. "If you don't want your face to bleed, you'd better go home."
Kazuki didn't back down; instead, he quickly launched a direct attack to the man's chest, making him fall while holding his chest. "Looks like you're lacking in this area," Kazuki said coldly, pulling the man's hair and forcing him to stand.
"Listen carefully, if I see you again, I'll make sure you can't move a single hand or leg," he whispered in the man's ear, making Rin next to him unable to hear it.
With fear, the two men finally ran away. "Let's go," Kazuki said to Rin. However, as they were about to leave, the woman they helped grabbed Kazuki's arm from behind.
"Um... thank you for that," she said sincerely.
Kazuki turned to the woman, who took off her black hat from her head. Rin looked shocked at the woman's face, while Kazuki merely observed.
"The person we helped is the new student in our class, Kakushi Lena."
"Kazuki, it seems you already knew she was the new student from our class," Rin said with a dissatisfied expression.
"Why do you look surprised? From a distance, you should have been able to tell it was Lena. I could tell by her short hair and height," Kazuki replied.
"Wow, it seems like you have very sharp eyes," Rin said with a flat expression.
"Um, can we talk about something?" Lena asked. "How about we go into that café over there? I also want to treat you for helping me."
Kazuki looked at Rin as if asking for her opinion. After thinking for a moment, Rin replied, "I'm fine; besides, there's nothing important we'll do at home."
The three of them then stepped into the café,
