"How's my sister?" Zev asked.
"She's fine; she hasn't drunk blood for the past six months though. She attended the party Grey Enterprises' hosted for a successful business partnership, I gave her a glass and she left the hall like she knew what would happen if she stayed with humans,"
"So what you're trying to say is Quinn knows what she is?" Chris asked. He decided to be there so he could hear what Gallus was going to say.
"What about her memories?" Nicholas asked.
"Oh…I forgot to add that she used her dark magic to fight off a group of rogues who tried to attack Mark's daughter, she saw a few things when she was in the training room in the Swan's villa, but she's not exactly clear in her memories,"
"Looks like your sister has grown fond of a bastard's offspring," Nathan said, his voice bitter with resentment and anger at the thought of his daughter saving Mark's daughter.
"Relax son, it is Mark Swan you're mad at, not his daughter,"
"I made her promise she'd stay safe but I know Quinn, she won't keep that promise,"
"What do we do now Gallus?" Zev asked.
"Ryan, Mark's son is starting to get suspicious of her; she ripped the leather of the punching bag with just two punches,"
"She can't keep staying with them then," Chris stated.
"We need to get her back to Devaria as soon as possible," Nathan said.
"How do you suppose we do that father?"
"As far as I can remember; the branch of Quinn Incorporation under your sister that was given to Driguez hasn't officially been made public yet…we may bring unnecessary attention to ourselves from unwanted people but it's the best way to get Scarlett here in Devaria," Nathan said.
"An official launching party of Quinn Incorporation Ensco's branch held in Devaria? Isn't that a bit…I don't know, odd?" Zev asked.
"The headquarters of Quinn Incorporation is located in Devaria," Nicholas said.
"Any specific dates Zev?" Chris asked.
"A fortnight should be enough to plan everything out, I'll get everything sorted out," Zev assured them.
"Make sure to let Driguez know son," Nathan said as Zev stood.
"I'll come with you," Chris said. Zev and Chris both vanished leaving Nicholas, Nathan and Gallus alone in the sitting room.
"Her memories are returning too slow; Jacob and Kylian already know she's part Draco, they're acting fast, this launching party may be a problem but it's the fastest way of getting her back here,"
"What do we have against those two?" Nicholas asked.
"Jacob and Kylian…oh nothing actually but they have something against her, she has the spirit of the last surviving Draco, Scarlett is seen as a threat to the shades and they're the hybrids from her nightmare,"
"Can this get any worse?" Nathan exhaled. "Scarlett is a normal dempire just like the rest of her kind," Nathan blared.
"She's not just a normal dempire Nathan and you know it," Nicholas said.
"Everything that happens has a reason, like why the throne was taken from your family…"
"That's just my father taking discipline on me for not following in his footsteps," Nicholas said unconsciously.
"Your father…? You said your father was killed by the Ancients in the war" Nathan asked confused.
"Story for another day son, I promise," Nicholas said and Nathan returned his focus to their conversation while Nicholas sighed to himself internally. He knew he'd eventually need to tell his family about their family lineage but that would be another time.
"She's in danger with or without her memories or Draco, those rogues weren't just a coincidence, from the very first day she met those rogues to the time she saved Debbie from them and fought them in that factory. We need to get her back here as soon as possible with her memories and powers,"
"You said something about Scarlett saving Mark's daughter earlier, did you mean that?" Nathan asked and Gallus nodded. "When did that happen?"
"Last night,"
"What happened?"
"The little girl was out, rogues wanted her and she protected her using her dark magic. Apparently they used Black's bane on the girl and she gave the girl her blood…"
"Isn't the girl human? It'll put her in a coma, her blood is more lethal because she's a hybrid, that girl will be in a coma until God knows when," Nicholas exclaimed.
"I think I just thought of how to make Scarlett leave that family," Nathan smiled.
***
She wasn't exactly sure why she gave Eliza her blood but the second she saw Eliza's black blood, instinct got a hold of her. She was hoping she could talk to Black and Silva about it or maybe even Gal about it. She just hoped that Eliza would be fine. Scarlett felt somewhat weakened after fighting those men. She felt like a part of her was hungry but she just ignored the feeling, she needed to rush Eliza to the hospital, she couldn't believe that no one came to check on her.
She took the keys of Ryan's sports car from the valet and pulled the back door open. She was hesitant because she wasn't sure if she could drive but she felt comfortable as her fingers wrapped around the steering wheel. She turned the ignition and drove the car out of the parking lot.
The car came to a stop in front of the city's hospital. Scarlett didn't bother to park the sports car. She pulled the back door open and held Eliza in her arm, as she closed the door; she vanished and appeared in front of the hospital's main doors. A few minutes later, Eliza was already admitted to a room and a doctor was running tests on her.
"Are you her relation?" the doctor turned to Scarlett.
"Kind of…will she be alright?"
"She's…not exactly fine but she's fine, her wounds are not major but her body seems to fighting off a toxin, it's like her blood is slowly detoxifying it but I think she'll be unconscious for a while, she should be fine in a few weeks,"
"What the hell happened to my daughter?" Mark's voice boomed as he entered Eliza's hospital room with Lionel and Ryan right behind him. Scarlett scoffed. 'Now you realize you're missing a daughter' Lionel's palm collided with Scarlett's face without Scarlett realizing what was going on.
"What the hell did you do to her?" Lionel screamed. "This is how you repay us, after letting you stay with us; you decide to harm her,"
"This is a joke right?" Scarlett asked amused. "I'm sorry but please tell me you're just being funny right now?"
"Mr. and Mrs. Swan, I'm sorry to interrupt but this girl brought your daughter here…how could she have possibly hurt your daughter?" one of the nurses asked.
"Eliza's bodyguard was at the corner and he said he saw this bitch hurt her,"
"A bodyguard who stands around and watches people hurt his client," Scarlett scoffed. She couldn't believe they were trying to pin this on her.
"That's because you threatened and beat him up, my daughter's bodyguard is lying half dead in the ICU right now fighting for his life,"
"Excuse Mrs. Swan but is that even possible…a well trained bodyguard threatened and beaten to a pulp by a girl that looks as small as this, I doubt she's even able to punch your son," an officer interrupted them. He'd been standing there for a while listening to Lionel scream at the top of her lungs.
"Actually officer, she is very strong," Ryan butted in.
"Officer this girl tried to kill my daughter," Mark continued.
"Mr. Swan, you're a very respectable businessman and as such shouldn't spout such nonsense against innocent people…this girl is innocent and I'm very sure being accused of framing will finally get you out of the business world,"
"How dare you talk to my husband that way?" Lionel screamed.
"Your husband knows what I'm talking about Mrs. Swan, so please you can do well to stop screaming, your daughter is not in good health…now let the girl speak…Scarlett right?"
"Yeah I guess…"
"I'm Officer David, a friend of Mr. Grey and Mr. Quinn, I assume you're very much acquainted with these two people," he said. Scarlett stared at him confused. When he first came into the room, no one noticed him but she did. He looked and felt oddly familiar just like the way Gal felt and he also looked so much like Gal. An image of a man with dark hair and ice blue eyes was blurry in her mind. She wasn't sure if it was this David guy or Gal. "Scarlett can I have a word with you?" David asked and she blinked absentmindedly.
"Uh…yeah sure," she replied. David led her outside and stood on the corridor facing her. He handed her an ice pack with a small smile on his face.
"You may be strong but a slap that hard can hurt skin as flawless as yours," he said.
"Thanks,"
"What happened?" he asked. Scarlett felt something different about him, different in a good way like Gal but Gal had some other feelings she couldn't decipher. She felt she could tell him and then she would be safe if he knew. "Say everything in detail Scarlett, I'm just like you and I'm here to help,"
"Last night, before the event was over, I…I materialized outside, I thought of going outside and I was outside in an instant, anyway, I found James there, he was looking for Eliza…"
"Who's James?"
"A friend of Eliza's, I told him to go inside and look for her and then I saw Eliza running and I was in front of her immediately, she was being chased by these…red eyed men, I…I killed them all but Eliza was bleeding and her blood was black, I don't why but…I gave her my blood, will she be fine?"
"Relax; your blood will heal her,"
"I didn't even see that useless meathead of a bodyguard,"
"Thank you and please if they hurt you; make sure to call me," he said and turned to leave.
"Wait…you didn't give me a number,"
"You don't need one," he smiled at her and walked away. Scarlett stared at his retreating back with a confused expression written all over her face. She sighed and walked to door of Eliza's room and pushed the door open.
"…now I'm doubting if she's actually Scarlett Quinn, she's not normal mum, she tore the leather of the punching bag with just two punches and I couldn't even do a single damage to it with three punches and that officer doubts she'll be able to beat up Eliza's bodyguard,"
"She is Scarlett, Nathan Quinn's daughter, how could we accuse her of hurting Eliza?"
"What else did you want me to do? James told us he couldn't find Eliza and we didn't do a thing about it, I thought I could pin it on her since she was the last one to see and talk to Eliza,"
"Mark, Lionel, Ryan," Scarlett said interrupting them from their conversation. So James did tell them but they decided to not do anything about it. Was Eliza even their real daughter? They turned to her shocked. Did she hear everything they just said? Lionel turned away from Scarlett's gaze. She knew Scarlett was innocent but who could she possibly blame for doing this? She couldn't blame the boy who had come to tell her Eliza was missing as per Scarlett's instruction. Scarlett had the blood on her that could prove her guilty and she wasn't even in the slightest pain.
"Scarlett…"
"It's alright Ryan, I never actually wanted to stay with your family in the first place, I understand you all don't feel comfortable with me in your family and I can leave,"
"Scarlett look I'm sorry for what I said, I…I was just being a mother and reacting to that, I was scared and worried about her that's it," Scarlett could sense that everything, all the emotions Lionel was trying to portray was all fake, she really needed to find out Eliza's relation to this family.
"I'm so sorry for what happened to her last night, I should've kept my eyes on her throughout the event, I'll make sure Eliza's treatment will be taken care of, she'll be fine," Scarlett said and left the hospital.
David watched her leave from the corner. Elizabeth would be perfectly fine especially now that she had Scarlett's blood flowing through her veins. It would take some time though for Scarlett's blood to detoxify the Black's bane in Elizabeth's system since she was human but as long as she would be safe that was it. 'Gallus, you should better know what you're planning' he thought and vanished.
