It's been two whole weeks since David left her in this strange room which she found out was her room in his mansion. David's butler Kieran wasn't any fun; he just took her to college and brought her back. Ryan ignored her like the plague but everyone else still swarmed her. She thought of talking to Kara but what the hell would she tell her? She thought of Black and Silva as well, it'd been a while since she last spoke to them; she wanted to know everything, why she made herself lose her memories? How she even did it in the first place? She wanted to be reminded of everything in her past. She remembered teleportation and telepathic communication; she was already used to it. Sometimes she couldn't believe she made herself lose her memories, being a dempire was absolutely amazing, it had its perks, like teleportation, dark magic, compulsion, inhumanly super fast reflexes, amazing vision, how could she want to give this all up…but everything that had advantages had its disadvantages as well, she always felt this thirst that made her restless and her throat itch.
One night when she decided to take a midnight stroll, she materialized in front of the penthouse…the same place where she had seen the other version of Kara Swan. She wondered why she materialized there of all places so she left and then every midnight, she always found herself in front of the doors leading inside. Then she remembered the black book she had spotted that day in the glass case. The case was covered properly with a piece of black fabric this time. She really wanted to know what was inside to be preserved in such a case. She fought the curiosity that itched to go in and sat at the edge of the roof listening to 'Queen of Mean by Sarah Jeffery and Walt Disney.' Sitting there was already a temptation; it was the best place she found quiet enough to work on her Smartring. It finally worked after a few adjustments and she really wanted to test it out. She turned to the glass doors stopping her from going in. It would just be one harmless peek and that would be it, she wouldn't come back here again.
The doors were unlocked so she pushed them open and walked inside. The interior design was elegant, even though it was black and white…no with a closer look, the white glistened and she realized it wasn't white but silver. Everything was either black or silver and it was absolutely beautiful. The silver curtains had black stones embedded on it while everything else that was black had a touch of silver on it. She strolled through the sitting room admiring everything until a silver sparkle stopped her in her tracks. 'The book' she didn't know why but she was greatly attracted to the book.
She pulled the black fabric off and the case came into full view. It had a security code fixed into it. Scarlett groaned in frustration, just when she was about to feed her curiosity! The book was well protected within the confines of the case, smashing the glass would obviously mean there was a breaking and entering and she wanted to avoid that. She tried a few codes but none of them worked and then…she gave up. 'This was a stupid idea anyway' she thought and slumped beside the case. She sighed to herself and then she got up and stared at the book through the case, there was a dragon on the front cover and then the word just popped in her head as she stared at the silver dragon on the cover…Draco. Could that be it? She inputted the letters and surprisingly it opened. She lifted the cover of the case and grabbed the book. It had intricate patterns of silver flames and dark wisps of smoke that fascinated her but what seemed to draw her attention more was the silver dragon that was beautifully carved into the book's cover. She ran her fingers over the dragon and the book glowed.
She ignored the dim glow of light and opened the front cover. On the first page was an incomplete sketch of what looked like…her? Black hair and grey eyes with blue embers in them…what the hell!? Why the hell was there a sketch of her in a book she'd never seen in her life before!? She flipped the next page, her curiosity heightening…yet another incomplete sketch of…her. Her hair was colored black and so were her eyes. She compared the two sketches; this couldn't be possible, could it? Maybe it was someone else, it had to be. She flipped another page and there was another sketch of her but this one was complete and it had silver hair and eyes. Why on earth were there sketches of Black, Silver and herself, in a book she'd never laid eyes on before that belonged to a man she'd never known either? Another page and her heart skipped a beat when she saw the next sketch, a man holding Silva in his arms with blood trickling down her lips. Not even a single detail was missed, it all looked so real.
Her head began to spin and she staggered back with the book in her hand and fell to the ground. She held her head in pain with the book still in her possession. Images of a man holding Silva in his arms began to flood her mind while blood flowed from her mouth. Then she saw the man flying beside a silver scaled dragon. They landed and the dragon transformed to Silva. The images changed again and she saw what seemed to be like Silva's ghost talking to a man who also looked like a ghost but he had black hair and grey eyes.
'You were supposed to tell him how to find his mother and sister father, not keep him alive and make him think I'll come back to help him'
'Stop spouting nonsense child, I know you wouldn't listen to a word I would say so why not do it on my own? We both know without you, he won't be able to get them back'
'That's the point of my blood and the Lethe's water father…'
'That just gave him immortality Silva, your blood is the only way he will be able to get his mother and sister back from the Abyss of Lost souls'
'He can take some of my blood and store it, Dracaena is lost father and with it Draco as well'
"Are the shades then left to destroy whichever race they want to…I didn't raise you to look for the easy way out Silva'
'What did you do father?'
'Enclose he and his brothers in black crystals now' the man said. Silva did as he said and stared at the man with worrisome eyes. 'The supernatural world will always need Dracaena, one way or the other, something will bring them back to the ruins of the Dracaenan castle and they will need Draco to help them find their way'
'No father, please don't!'
'Goodbye child' the man said.
'Father…no please don't!' Silva screamed. The man's already translucent body vanished completely with a smile on his face. Small silver crystals that appeared as the man's body vanished got absorbed into Silva's body.
Scarlett staggered back, the images stopped. Scarlett found herself somewhere dark that she had no idea about but yet it felt very familiar. The book was still in her hands. She realized she was in a cave when her eyes adjusted to the darkness. There seemed to be a crater in the cave. There was this ominous silence in it that made her look around just to be sure she was the only one there. She turned to the crater and her eyes met with a pair of ice blue eyes that held pain in them. She blinked surprised and they were…the eyes were gone!?
"Gal…? David…? Is that you?" she called out. "If you think this is funny then it's not, I need answers, why am I seeing all this…stuff, I doubt those are my memories," she said. Her hands instinctively wrapped around herself as the air suddenly felt chilly then she realized… "Shit! The book…no! This is not supposed to be happening!" she exclaimed as she frantically looked around for the book. How the hell did she lose it? Scarlett sighed and closed her eyes exasperated and when she opened them, she was back in her room in David's mansion then the pain started off again. Splitting images of someone standing in a cave shot through her mind. There was silver mist in that crater and her body was glowing silver and she was slumped in a corner staring at the mist.
"Make it stop. That's enough please!" she screamed. David materialized in front of her with Gallus beside him. They watched her in silence as dark magic pulsated around her. Seth was going through the same thing but his dark magic wasn't pulsating the way hers was.
The official launching party of Quinn Incorporation was just in two days. David felt Scarlett needed clothes to wear for the party but Gallus made it clear he had it covered. Scarlett's dark magic finally calmed down but her breathing was still ragged. David laid her on the king sized bed while Gallus observed her quietly. Scarlett and Seth were slowly regaining their memories, bit by bit and hopefully, they would remember everything soon. Gallus sighed and left David with Scarlett. He materialized in Scarlett's mansion in Ensco, he found Loretta going through Scarlett's stuff. He watched her silently as she put everything she stared at lovingly into a box. The woman wasn't as old as him but she'd seen a lot in all her vampire years.
"I could've done something to stop Ramona when she told me…maybe Scarlett would still be here," Loretta said as she put the box down.
"Even if you did, it would change nothing, Scarlett didn't do this to herself because of her demon, she did it to protect the people she loves…it's hard to deceive yourself when you already know the truth Loretta, Scarlett knew nothing could protect you all from her except herself, so she sought an easier method of doing that,"
"It pains me that I still wasn't there when she needed someone,"
"Scarlett loves you and she knows you love her too,"
"I couldn't help her Gallus, is that how to love someone?" she asked as tears streamed down her face. An uncertain emotion flashed through Gallus' eyes. He knew the feeling. He couldn't help his brother when he needed help. "I…I'm sorry,"
"It's alright…as long as we still fight for the ones we love; we've done a lot to help them," Gallus said with a small smile on his face. She wiped her tears and nodded at him. Dark magic swirled toward her and in the blink of an eye, they were both gone.
They appeared in a room in the Quinn mansion in Kersa, Devaria. The sheets on the bed were black and had beautiful gold embroideries. The pillowcases were black and edged with gold lace. The curtains were black as well and had intricate patterns well embroidered with gold thread. The walls were painted white and blue. The room's interior décor was utterly a beautiful contrast.
"This…this is Scarlett's room," Loretta said as a smile beamed across her face.
"How do you know that?"
"Her scent is very…very faint. I didn't think Nicholas would remember her favorite colors, this is how she likes it, black against gold and blue against white…she adores these colors,"
"She needs clothes for the launch party; I thought maybe you would know what she likes to wear for events like these,"
"She usually doesn't attend them,"
"I know but it's her branch and she's the CEO,"
"What about Nicole?"
"All you need to worry about is Scarlett," Loretta smiled.
