Scarlett woke up feeling sore all over, her vampire lust hadn't gotten out of control by the time she was done talking to Gallus, who had promised to help her out if she needed anything. Thankfully, she could control it. She couldn't understand why Silva was caged and if Black was numbed, how the hell was she able to create that fucking barrier?! Heck! She didn't know the first thing about yielding dark magic but the barrier had been so strong that even her grandfather couldn't get through.
She had been in her sub consciousness before Nicole took her to the mansion that came with the island. She'd managed to get a few words from what they were talking about but it wasn't quite clear, she'd heard her mum talking about Black and that she was sorry. What did she mean by it wasn't meant to be her demon? She heard her mum cry and apologize and wondered what exactly it was they were talking about but…Scarlett being Scarlett didn't want to bother about what it was they were talking about. Nicole took her to one of the rooms and laid her on the bed and left a while later.
She barely managed to keep her eyes open, her eyes scanned the room she was in, it was large and the walls were painted white, the curtains were azure, the sheets were pure white and she was dressed in a loose black shirt and a pair of loose trousers. She tried to sit up but a sharp pain made her fall back to the bed, a faint image flashed through her mind, a dragon and a man.
The dragon had silver scales and eyes, blood stained its sparkling scales as it flew through thick darkness. The man had large black wings on his back and he flew beside the magnificent beast, his clothes were torn and covered in blood. Scarlett's eyes squeezed shut as the pain shot through her head. The images still continued and she could hardly bare the pain it caused her.
The dragon breathed fire to the ground, roars of pain echoed in the scene but Scarlett couldn't picture what was making the noises. The man landed on something firm and the dragon landed a few feet in front of him. It looked exhausted. The man looked at the dragon as silver mist enveloped its body, his beautiful ice blue eyes filled with anger as the mist faded away and in its place was…Silva.
Scarlett's head throbbed even more, the pain was killing her and the more she tried to shut out the images and those piercing eyes, the more the pain increased. Nothing made sense to her, her mind was rushing with images of those captivating ice blue eyes. His ice blue eyes were just like Gallus' but his were as cold as ice. He held Silva in his hands as blood trickled down her lips. She could barely speak and Scarlett knew Silva was about dying.
Silva died in the man's hands. In Scarlett's eyes, Silva's body faded and silver mist enveloped her own body while in the man's eyes, Silva's body lay limp in his hands. He stood with her in his arms. His eyes read no emotions as he walked with her body in his arms. Large and sturdy black wings grew from his back; he flew with speed towards the castle. The farther he flew, the clearer the Dracaenan castle became. His eyes burned with an intense blue flame as an unknown feeling filled his every living. Silva's body began to bleed. As he reached the castle walls, the images stopped. Scarlett's head was banging. She lay on the bed moaning and groaning in pain, her body ached all over and her head throbbed so much she couldn't move.
"I don't think what happened earlier is meant to kill you," Gallus teased as he materialized in her room. He watched her as her brows creased in pain and sweat drenched her hair and face but not a single tear ran down her cheek. He wondered how much she could endure without crying. She let out an agonized groan but she still didn't cry. He wasn't bothered if her family came in, he had placed a sound proof barrier in front of the door so they wouldn't hear anything they were talking about but they could hear who was coming from the inside.
Gallus used his dark magic to calm the pain she was feeling, he couldn't take it away completely but at least he could give her a break. Scarlett managed to open her eyes, she could still feel the pain but it was bearable at least. The images were vivid in her memory but she didn't have the strength to say anything about it. She felt it would just cause her more pain.
"Want to talk about it?" Gallus asked. He knew she'd seen something.
"I'd rather not, well at least not yet…they still hurt,"
"You need to learn to use your magic,"
"Teach me, I'd love to learn," she said sarcastically.
"I doubt you'll have the time to learn that from me," Gallus continued her sarcasm.
"You have a point," she commented as she rolled her eyes at him.
"You've had one hell of a birthday?"
"Definitely, it's the best yet,"
"I'll let you rest after your latest ordeal, Nicole, Debbie and your brother are coming, I'll see you later," he said and vanished. Nicole, Debbie and Zev walked in after Gallus left. They were relieved to find her awake.
"Hey," Zev said. "…how are you feeling?" he asked after releasing her from his embrace.
"I'm great thanks,"
"I'm sorry about your birthday, it was meant to be perfect," Nicole said and hugged her.
"It was perfect Nicole, I loved it…" Debbie hugged her afterwards. Scarlett turned to Zev. "…you're not leaving again right Zev?"
"I'm not," Zev said and ruffled her hair.
"How long was I out?"
"The whole day, it's nighttime already," Debbie said. "We'll let you rest, if you need anything, just call," she said and they left. Scarlett sighed; at least she wasn't out for another three weeks it was just a day. The entire day…she was hungry, not for blood but actual food. She'd been feeding her bloodlust since she came to Devaria and hadn't had any real food for her human side. Scarlett knew food would taste way better if she was perfectly fine so she pushed the thought of hunger aside and decided to get better but she had something very important she had to do first.
"Are you sure that's want you want kid?" Gallus asked as he materialized in her room.
"Yeah I'm sure, I need that nightmare again and hopefully I'll remember it," Scarlett said. Gallus scratched his head. He felt Scarlett enjoyed pain, he stretched his hand toward her and wisps of dark smoke flew out of Scarlett's body and into Gallus' palm. Just as the last bits of smoke flew into his hands, he stared at her worriedly; he knew she was already hurting with the way her brows creased and beads of sweat formed on her forehead.
"Take it all Gallus," she said through clenched teeth. She was barely conscious now. "Take it…Gal…" her breathing became ragged, sweat trickled down her face. He hesitated but sucked it all out from her. Scarlett's scream reverberated in the entire mansion. It didn't take long before Nicholas materialized in the room. Scarlett's body trashed on the bed like a ragdoll, veins popped on her forehead and arms.
Nicholas turned to Gallus. Gallus was surprised, no one else was meant to see him except Scarlett and maybe one of the Shadow guards so how was Nicholas seeing him. Gallus looked directly at Nicholas who glared at him with malicious intent. He understood the evil look in Nicholas' eyes. His dark magic was on high alert so it made him look like the bad guy. He watched Nicholas' every move as his dark magic swirled toward Scarlett.
"She doesn't want that," Gallus said. Nicholas paused but ignored him. Scarlett's body trashed even more and Nicholas' brows furrowed in confusion. Her body refused it. He stared at Gallus, the man was right, Scarlett didn't want it.
"What does she want?" Nicholas asked. The door flew open and everyone poured in. Nathan and Ramona had worried looks on their faces when they saw how Scarlett trashed on the bed. Zev, Debbie and Nicole looked drained of blood; they'd just spoken to her, how the fuck did this happen?! Chris, Michael, Regina and Xander didn't even want to come inside while the Shadow guards stood on the corridor. Luis looked most worried, the only reason he was last to meet Scarlett was because he was ordered to and if anything were to happen to her, they would all be dead. Nicholas glared at Gallus and left the room and Gallus followed him. The others couldn't see him so why could Nicholas.
"Who are you and what the fuck did you do to my granddaughter?" Nicholas blared.
"I'm Gallus, a friend of hers," Gallus paused. Was he actually a friend? "She was in a lot of pain when I came to see her after our conversation earlier, I used my magic to calm the pain but she didn't want that and told me to take my magic back,"
"Why?" Nicholas said. He could tell Gallus wasn't lying but why would Scarlett want to endure such pain. "Why did she tell you to take your magic back?"
"She's been having nightmares but can't remember it, she hopes that with this amount of pain, she'll have it again and remember it this time,"
"How do you know about that?"
"I was dragged into it, I'm not sure why but even I can't remember it,"
"What do you want from her?"
"Like I told her, nothing,"
"How sure am I that I can trust you with her?"
"I see where she gets it from; I won't hurt her I promise you, the Shadow guards will take care of that,"
"You know them?"
"I sent them," Nicholas stared at Gallus amused and somewhat alert with him around Scarlett. But so far, watching Gallus right now, he didn't sense any evil intent from Gallus. They could hear Scarlett's screams. Nathan, Chris and Miguel tried to use their magic on her but she kept refusing it. Zev held Ramona while she silently cried on him. Michael held Nicole as she cried on his chest; he knew just how much Nicole loved Scarlett and seeing Scarlett this way wasn't something he knew she'd ever imagined. Scarlett's screams slowly turned into words, words that sounded bitter and scared.
"No…Nicole! Let her go please, let them go…" Nicole turned to Scarlett immediately she heard those words. Blood covered Scarlett's body; her black shirt was soaked in blood. Nicole strolled toward Scarlett with dread in her heart; everyone stared at her as she stood beside Scarlett's bed. Nicole raised Scarlett's shirt up and a dreadful looking wound came into sight. Scarlett's blood was black and her wound wasn't healing. Ramona stared at her daughter with fear and terror in her eyes. This was exactly what she wanted to avoid and this was just the beginning of it.
"What's wrong with her Zev? Where did that wound come from and why isn't it healing? Why isn't Scarlett healing?"
"What's happening to her father?'
"I'm not sure son; she's rejecting our magic,"
"Her mind is in torment, she's in pain," Miguel said. Scarlett let out another pain filled scream. Her voice slowly died down. Her pants came out heavy and dragged. The blood that stained her body stop flowing; her breathing slowly became stable and her heartbeat calm. Regina and Debbie were outside. "Scarlett's fine, the blood's stopped, her wounds are slowly healing, she just needs to rest," Luis informed them. Debbie was still crying but she was happy now that Scarlett wasn't in pain anymore but she couldn't shake off the dreadful feeling in her heart.
"Don't let it get to you Debbie, you're not the cause of any of this, Scarlett chose this," Regina said.
"Thank you Mrs. Quinn but I doubt that'll make me feel any better," Debbie said as she wiped away her tears.
"Your features are very hard to miss in a crowd, they're just like a blueblood's and you have Ramona's blue sparks…you may or may not be a blue blood but you'd make a beautiful princess and I would be proud if you were my granddaughter,"
"…thank you Mrs. Quinn,"
"Call me grandma, there are two Mrs. Quinn in the family," Regina said and embraced Debbie. Debbie wiped her tears and they went inside. Scarlett was sleeping peacefully. Debbie was the only one who noticed a dark haired man with ice blue eyes staring intently at Scarlett and standing next to Nicholas. She followed his line of sight and noticed that Scarlett's brows were creased.
"Something's not right with Scarlett," Debbie pointed out.
"What do you mean? She's sleeping peacefully," Ramona said. Debbie looked at Gallus and their eyes met. She knew he'd done something and somehow Nicholas knew about it.
