Scarlett didn't know where Black was taking her but after feeling the pain of her nightmare physically and she still couldn't remember it she didn't have any other ideas. Black grabbed her arm the second she appeared in the darkness of her mind. She had forcefully created her nightmare with the hopes of remembering at least something, the pain was mind numbing and excruciatingly painful she had to admit, she didn't think it would work but she had her hopes up that after she left this place, the memories of her nightmare would come rushing to her.
As Black dragged her deeper into the darkness, she found herself remembering every single detail of her nightmare but since no other name except Claire had been mentioned, she had to rely on their faces, everything made sense to her until she saw them all standing in front of her. That part was complicated, she didn't understand anything and she just couldn't get herself to believe that they weren't actually dead.
Black kept dragging her and the farther they went, the darker it became. Scarlett found herself getting used to the darkness, it was oddly peaceful and comforting. Then there was this odd feeling that kept pulling at her gut and then the odd color her eyes caught, red, her head instinctively turned to Black who continued dragging her toward the red color.
"I may be your known as your evil side but I can promise you, I haven't been the one trying to take control neither has it been Silva, we've been on our best behavior," Black said as a grin flashed across her face but was immediately replaced with a serious face. "I was walking around, you know the darkness is my forte and I noticed this…" Scarlett looked at the place where they stood. The red was…blood. The blood led to a forest, a trail of blood that led to a freaking forest in her mind. What else could be in her mind? Maybe she could find a jungle or desert or maybe even a vast ocean? Scarlett smiled amused. What was a freaking forest doing in her mind? "I've tried going in but there's something blocking me, even Silva can't go in," Black said. "We were hoping you could try,"
"What if I can't go in?" Scarlett asked.
"We could ask Gallus," Black replied. Scarlett turned to the entrance of the forest and took a step forward. Her body went through what seemed to be an invisible wall. She kept going with her senses on high alert, as she went she heard a sound, a very loud one. Her brain told her to get the fuck out of there and leave with Black while her instinct told her to keep going. Her gut never failed her so she decided to listen to her gut. Her heart felt heavy with every step she took, this forest had an eerie feeling and she didn't like it for just one reason. The forest was from her mind and she didn't trust her mind sometimes, it could go bizarre and do insane stuff, even though it was her mind. It had a mind of its own.
The sound echoed again and again. She made it out as a thump. It got louder with every step she took as she followed the trail of blood deeper into the forest. The leaves rustled as the sound got even louder and closer. From the shadows, a huge figure approached her. Its eyes shown like the moon, it scales in beautiful contrast to the darkness of her mind and the trail of blood on the ground. Its eyes were lizard-like as it peered into Scarlett's eyes.
It leaned down on Scarlett with a curious gaze, a low rumbling noise came from it. Instinct got a hold of Scarlett and she raised her arms up in defense, not like it would change anything though. It stopped in its track and made a whimper. Scarlett's heart skipped a beat. In her ears, she heard words. She looked up at the creature in front of her; she stretched her hand out and patted its snout.
"S…Silva? Is that you?" she whispered.
Scarlett caressed its face; dark magic unconsciously flew from her palm. It circled the silver dragon and pain shot through her palm. She tried to pull her hand away from its snout but it was stuck and blood flowed from where their bodies made contact. Scarlett knew the dragon was in pain but it stayed still. She stood still and the pain stopped. The dragon's silver gaze pulled Scarlett's; she was in its mind now. Somewhere in the dragon's mind, she could hear someone crying. She walked further and found Silva crying.
"Black said you couldn't come in here…" Silva looked up at her, her eyes bloodshot from crying. She managed a smile at Scarlett and wiped her tears.
"I'm sorry, I never wanted this to happen, all those years ago I tried to stop him but it was too late, it's my fault all this is happening and I'm so sorry, I tried to end it all but…I was already a part of you," Silva cried.
"What are you talking about?"
"I wanted to protect you from all this, I didn't want to destroy your life, I told him Dracaena was already lost but he wouldn't listen, I thought Gallus could do it, I thought he could finally put an end to Dracaena and kill me but…he couldn't,"
"Why would you want to die?"
"Because my time was over years ago but that day you saved Debbie, I knew nothing would change the future, I knew I couldn't do anything anymore," Silva paused. "You've been training all your life to fight Scarlett; the time has come when you finally have to start fighting,"
"I can't Silva; I can't be ready to fight when I know nothing about anything happening in my life. All my life I've been preparing, fighting when I have no idea what I'm fighting. Heck! I don't know what the hell I'm doing anymore," Scarlett threw her hands up in frustration. "My eyes fly open one day when I'm healing and silver mist surrounds my body and the pain I'm feeling from my wound has been reduced. I appear in front of a cave and find a girl who looks just like me and has silver hair and eyes who turns out to be Draco. Somehow I meet a man in my nightmare and he knows me, like shit! How does that freaking sound?! I lose myself to darkness that I never knew existed in me, I found out my mum accidentally numbed Black and here I am now screaming at you after telling me you wanted to die just to protect me, tell me Silva, tell me that I'm still not ready," Scarlett paused. She'd already said a lot but she still had it in her. "I've endured a lot in just four months; I survived a deadly nightmare with Black's bane in my body, brutally murdered a lot of rogues and still endured excruciating pain. How else am I meant to fucking prepare?! I've suffered way more than I've relaxed ever since I came to Devaria!" Scarlett said and ran her hand through her hair. "Why can't I just chill a little?" her voice came out soft.
Silva looked at Scarlett with pain filled eyes; she had one more thing to tell Scarlett. She wasn't sure if Scarlett would listen to her.
"Say it," Scarlett said. Her throat was hurting and she didn't have the strength to say anything else. From the look in Silva's eyes, Scarlett knew Silva still wanted to say something but she wasn't sure if it was a good or bad thing. "Just say it,"
"Maybe I should tell you another time, you're already frustrated and you need to rest…"
"Just say the damn words Silva!"
"Fine…look ahead," Scarlett looked up. The dragon was on a rampage, spitting fire on everything, its eyes were blackened. Scarlett's eyes fixated on a particular spot. Bodies…dead bodies, battered and bloodied that looked so familiar. She walked towards the bodies with dread in her heart. As she neared, Nicole's nut brown hair came into sight, her hair was stained with blood and the rest of the bodies were her family, her heart skipped a beat and her stomach churned as she stared at them with pain in her heart. It was all an illusion, a vision or probably her mind was playing tricks on her like it always did, but she couldn't help the dread that wanted to eat her out.
"This is just my mind playing tricks on me, right Silva? Tell me I'm just being paranoid of their safety and my mind is doing this to scare me?" Scarlett screamed. She really didn't trust her mind; it always went off doing stupid stuff to get her senses up. "No! No!! No!!! What the fuck happened?! Why…When did this freaking happen?! Who fucking did this…?" Scarlett screamed. Silva stood in front of her as she cried and held Nicole's body in her arms. "No this…this can't be happening, who did this? Who fucking did this to them?!" she cried. Silent tears fell down Silva's cheek as she watched Scarlett cry over her family. How could she tell Scarlett that she was the cause of this? How would she tell Scarlett that she had killed her own family and friends with her own two hands?
"I'm sorry Scarlett, this is what I'm trying to avoid," Silva whispered. Scarlett's tears flowed even more at the realization that hit her with Silva's words. She had done this to them, she had killed them but she didn't want to believe it, no she wouldn't, she just couldn't bring herself to believe it.
"Please tell me I didn't do this…tell me I won't be the one to do this to them! Tell me their blood won't stain my hands Silva, please Silva," Scarlett cried. More tears streamed down Scarlett's face as she cried. How the fuck did she do this to them?! How did she? She was angry that after training all these years to protect her family from danger, she needed to protect them from herself. Scarlett screamed in pain and ran her hands through her hair. She didn't think she would actually have to do it but she needed to, she needed to leave. "It's the only way I can protect them isn't it?" Scarlett wiped her tears and asked. Silva nodded. She would leave; they would be safer that way. She'd just got her family back and she didn't want to lose them again so she would leave and she wouldn't tell anyone, no one, not even Gallus. Her grey eyes glimmered with firm resolution; she would protect them from herself if she had to.
