Chapter 29: Descent into Darkness
Victor, now empowered by the forbidden spell, emerged in Alawis's corridor. His figure enveloped in swirling black smoke, radiating an aura almost matching Niel's.
Before reaching Alawis's door, the three deacons – Khaos, Thrakos, and Xandros – ambushed Victor. United, they launched a simultaneous assault.
However, Victor, now bolstered by the forbidden spell, proved invulnerable. With a casual kick, he sent the deacons flying. They struggled to regain footing, spitting blood.
Khaos's eyes widened in shock. "How is this possible?"
Valtor smiled wickedly. "Believe me, Khaos, even I can't believe this."
Without mercy, Valtor attacked, unleashing a one-sided onslaught. The deacons lay defeated, covered in black blood.
Valtor squatted beside them. "Swear allegiance to me, and you'll keep your lives."
Khaos met Valtor's gaze defiantly. "Never."
Valtor took a deep breath. "Suit yourself."
He conjured dark flames, devoid of distinction, a testament to his disregard for the stages and spell rules.
Alawis, hearing the commotion, decided to stand with her protectors. "What's the worst that can happen? I'm already dead."
Opening her door, she witnessed Valtor poised to kill Khaos. Her voice echoed through the corridor. "Stop!"
Valtor halted, smirk twisting his face. "So you decided to show up."
Alawis pleaded, "Please don't harm them. Take me instead."
Thrakos and Xandros lay unconscious. Khaos, Niel's strongest demon, grasped Valtor's feet. "Finish the job. Spare no one."
With a dismissive kick, Valtor sent Khaos crashing into the wall. The demon fainted.
Alawis screamed, "No!" before retreating.
Valtor stalked toward her, his demonic speed allowing him to strangle her.
His lifeless eyes locked onto Alawis. "You're the one who changed Niel, right? His star shatterer or mate?"
Alawis trembled. "How did you know...?"
