Chapter 6 - Chapter 5 - Entrance Exam

*Sighs*

~Alarm rings~

" Shut up and give me more time to sleep." I banged my fist at the alarm clock on my right and slept till I heard my name being spoken aloud as a microphone and popped off the bed that went straight to my brain.

"Mom, please calm down; I need more sleep." As I collapsed back into bed, I said to my mother, my eyes watering.

"Get the hell up, you little piece of shit! You have to take your admission exam soon." Mom smirked and gritted her teeth. Two veins appeared on her forehead as she delivered a superman punch to my midsection. I screamed loudly and rolled down the floor, using my right hand to gesture 'give up'.

"In order to arrive at your exam room on time, brat, get your lousy ass up and take a bath." As the poor little kid on the ground responded, she cried out to him, shielding his tummy from the pain he was experiencing,

"R-Roger that captain."

"That works out well for you, boss." He immediately grinned evilly as his mother left the room, remembering how she had tried to wake him up and thrown her fist at his stomach. He quickly covered his stomach with sand armor under his pajamas, reducing the damage to zero while feigning pain to prevent his mother from giving him another fistful of affection.

"I suppose I'll need to warm up with some push-ups before heading to the exam room." To clear his body, he stood up and performed 20 push-ups and sit-ups before taking a bath in the bathroom. After dressing neatly and putting his white towel around his waist, Yuta emerged from the bathroom and went downstairs for breakfast.

"Ara ara." Mom teased as I was making my way downstairs, keeping my right hand in my pockets and checking the time on my left wrist to see how long I had left before the exam started.

"Mom, since I'm not really hungry, I'm fine with a slice of toasted bread." Yuta took up the toasted slice, rubbed it with a little jam and went to the door to leave the home.

"Go get em sweetie." Yuta exited the house feeling mortified over his Mom's word and also it boosted the confidence in him.

Yuta left the house and rode in a cab for fifteen minutes to the closest train station. When he arrived at the train station, he looked at his wristwatch and saw that it was twenty-seven minutes past eight.

He then obtained his rail ticket and boarded the train, which would take him another fifteen minutes to reach his destination.

When he got off the train, he noticed that the exam time was eighteen minutes before nine. "Let's get it now." Grinning, he made his way to Highquest Middle School's door. 'OMG! This is a fascinating time, and the school is enormous.' He was lost in his own thoughts before a random student banged his fist at Yuta's back to wake him from his reverie, he stood motionless at the entrance gate for a minute.

"Hey! I understand your feelings, but you need to ignore them and concentrate on the test." As he entered the school grounds and waved his hands to Yuta, the unidentified boy murmured.

"Roger that." He thought to himself when he entered the school and made his way to the students gathering in a large field, waiting for the teacher or examiner to direct them to their individual exam rooms.

"How are you, students?" The students were standing in the field when an unidentified voice reverberated around the area and then resurfaced.

"Highquest Middle School welcomes you. We extend a warm welcome to you on campus at one of Japan's best middle schools.

By the time the results are released, we will only be admitting the best pupils to this institution, so you have to give it your all today. Thus, pay close attention as we lead you to your exam rooms." Following that, a few examiners were introduced to each student for the entrance exam in different hallways.

"So, east west of the school gate, in hall C, I am based." After giving it some thought, Yuta took the second seat in the center row of the hall.

"My name is Mr. Eto. I will be supervising hall C for this exam, and I ask for your cooperation throughout it. If you are caught engaging in any kind of malpractice, you will be removed from the exam.

The first paper is mathematics, and you have one hour and thirty minutes to complete it. The same goes for your English, which is coming up next. Sit down and concentrate on the task at hand."  As he distributed the exam question paper and booklet to each student, Mr. Eto said, "Start!"

'Oh my goodness, this is some really fibrous shit.' When Yuta reached a question Mei had given him, he put his pen down on the desk and started looking at every question in his booklet.

He grabbed his pen and started working through question four in his booklet. After 17 minutes, he moved on to the next one, and so on to the final one. He covered his booklet, put down his pen, and waited for the last minute to pass before turning it, finishing ahead of all the other students.

"Sensei! Can I submit now that I'm done and go study for the next test?"

"Sure."

Yuta rose from his chair, approached the examiner to turn in his paper, and then left the room. As time passed, more and more students continued to leave the exam room after submission while some of them were afraid of the test the school had set for them.

"Please enter quietly and take a seat; it's time for the next paper." The students took their seats and complied with the examiner's instructions. "This is the final paper, so do your best to avoid being kicked out or expelled." He gave the student another warning and gave them the booklet and question. "You could begin."

Before beginning to respond to the questions, Yuta took five minutes to focus on each one. He started by responding to some simpler questions and saved the more difficult ones for last.

"Please tell me what you were asking your seatmate, you on the red sleeve in the third row."

"N-Nothing, sir." The student apologized sweetly, "I'm s-s-sorry sir," while trembling with terror and sorrow at being kicked out of the exam.

"Since the time is drawing near, you can sit down and continue your examination." After saying that, the examiner started to go around the hall, making sure that everyone was working on their assignments.

"Sensei!" From the other end of the hall, a girl cried out. "I'm done."

"Go to the front and sign this attendance list while submitting." After saying this to the girl, he resumed his patrol in the hallway. Yuta was contemplating trying to engage in malpractice with his quirk while he sat calmly and watched the examiner.

"Caution. You will not be allowed to take the exam if you are spotted utilizing your quirk in the exam room, which will automatically prevent you from getting accepted into this institution". The examiner rubbed his white beard and issued another warning.

'What the hell?' Does he read minds because of his quirk? Guilt-ridden, Yuta questioned himself and concentrated harder on his test. The examiner stopped each student after the allotted time had passed, gathered all of the booklets, had us sign the attendance sheet, and then we left the exam room.

"You will return to the field for a helpful announcement." As he rushed out of view of the students surrounding him, the examiner spoke.

"What on earth is meant by that?" In the middle of the class, a chubby student wearing glasses erupted in rage and yelled, which infuriated Yuta, who then fashioned a tiny needle in the shape of sand and shot it so quickly at the fat student's neck that it knocked him unconscious.

'Shut the hell up fatty.' Yuta thought to himself as he gazed at the unconscious  student and approached the field  for the announcement.

"Congratulations on your exam! You will receive an email with your results in seven days, indicating if you are eligible to enroll at Highquest Middle School. Good luck, or you might be fired."

'At last! I'm eager to get home and have a long nap now that it's over.' Yuta thought to himself as he left the school grounds and went to the closest train station, where he obtained a ticket and boarded the train for the fifteen-minute journey.
