He naturally knew that, but he couldn't help but feel confused. Other than his newly accepted disciple staying here, the aura they felt was just too mysterious and terrifying, belonging to a different level even for them.
How can it be related to the brat? Although his talent is unbelievable, he is still a young, inexperienced, weak kid.
Both of them silently went in, although the aura they felt vanished, they still wanted to check.
But as they entered, all they saw was a young brat—none other than Ash—standing there with a wolf by his side, its black fur tinged with reddish streaks.
"This...?"
The calm old man looked confused and then looked at his old friend Caine for an explanation, as it was his back garden.
"I was going to tell you about that, but then this happened," Caine said, gesturing toward Ash. He then turned to introduce the other man. "Come here, kid, and greet the village chief, Chrono."
Ash didn't think much, but the village chief was surprised as he immediately understood that Caine had accepted the apprentice. Because he didn't think he had the balls to have an illegitimate child.
"Hello, Village Chief," he quickly stepped forward to greet the old chief.
"Hmm," the village chief nodded, his sharp eyes carefully examining Ash, as though trying to see through him. Suddenly, Ash felt an unimaginably powerful spiritual force sweep through his body, sending a shiver down his spine.
He felt like a small ant in front of the powerful spiritual force. This small movement didn't go unnoticed by the village chief, as he was a bit surprised that he was even able to feel his snooping.
"Not bad; your spiritual is good." He commented, and after that, his spiritual senses seemed to expand and search the entire place. Old Caine saw this but didn't stop, as he also didn't know why such a mysterious aura appeared here.
He scanned the entire place, but he didn't find anything at all, like what they felt was some hallucination.
When the village chief was searching the entire place with his spiritual sense, Ash became nervous as he felt their sudden visit had something to do with him. He hoped they wouldn't notice the difference in Grim.
The village chief furrowed his brow, glancing at the sleek Grim, who was sitting calmly like a dog with its tongue out. Despite using his powerful spiritual sense, the chief couldn't detect anything unusual about the wolf—or the place.
Only old Caine was the one who was looking at Grim with doubt, as the only thing different from before was the wolf. So, he couldn't help but think that mysterious aura had something to do with it.
But he didn't say anything and just remained standing quietly beside Chrono.
After not finding anything, the village chief calmed down and looked at Ash again, but this time with a smile.
"You have strong spiritual talent, which will greatly aid you in your martial arts journey," the village chief said. "But you must not waste such potential. Here—this is my gift to you. I hope it helps you climb to greater realms in the future."
A beautiful bow appeared that seemed to be made of transparent crystal like it was made of something similar to glass.
Ash's eyes glowed sharply, as he felt the mysterious power within the bow. And the moment he touched it, it glowed for a second, and instantly, he felt a connection with it. He looked happy and glanced towards the village chief for further explanation.
"This bow is a unique treasure I found in ancient ruins during my younger days," the village chief said, looking at the weapon. "I still don't know its name or what it's made of, but it is undeniably powerful. The arrows fired from this bow can directly attack the spirit. I didn't use it, so you with the first master."
"Once you've learnt some archery techniques, combining them with your strong spiritual strength will give you a tremendous advantage."
He was happy after hearing about the bow, but he still looked at Master Caine, who nodded and laughed, "Take it; it is already great that this stingy guy would give something good."
Village Chief Chrono didn't comment and just annoyingly left. Caine also, before leaving, glanced at Grim, who from the beginning didn't show anything unusual, and then looked at his disciple.
Seeing both left Ash feeling better even though they might not be a problem even if he told them, but it was still better to hide it.
Still, it was as great as it seemed; even his master and other strong people could not see through Grim. He felt good and rubbed Grim's fur and looked at the crystal bow in his other hand.
He wanted to learn archery when he saw the arrow that killed the demon bear, and now he had obtained such a precious bow. It would be a crime if he didn't learn archery.
Not to mention, if he wanted to use his ability to create his own army, he needed to hunt, as he could not depend on the luck of old hunters in the village.
Although he cannot try his ability on a human corpse, he cannot just go outside and kill people to try his ability. Although he had done many bad things in his previous life, he wasn't ruthless enough to just go on a killing spree.
So, he would need to hunt animals, magical beasts, or even demons on his own. From what he had observed, the stronger the corpse, the better the results he could achieve when reviving them with his ability.
But before he can go out to hunt, he needs to become stronger, as he is too weak; he needs to reach at least second-rate martial artists to have some protection in the wild. Although he believes with Grim's protection he should be alright, he still cannot be too dependent on him, as what would he do if they met multiple beasts?
So, a plan had already formed in his mind. He would train hard, hunt powerful creatures, and use his ability to create an army of formidable beasts. In this life, he was determined to build supreme power—one that would ensure he never had to bow to anyone again.
