Chapter 1 - A Captive Somewhere

She found it hard to breathe, couldn't even see anything but vague shadows and the flickering of torches, guess the sack around her head did it's job.

The Orygar guards, soldiers, whatever's dragging her around didn't use force against her, Afterall she didn't resist. She had no reason to, from when they torched the town, gathering the unresisting civilians and throwing them in transport carriages. Holding them down, restricting them with ropes and forcing bags around their heads.

"We're taking you out, do not resist!"

The voice wasn't really directed at her, but more of the girl beside her.

She stayed seated rather than standing at their words, she'd rather them force her to stand than to be misunderstood and take the butt of a sword to the head.

Although she hadn't protested, the young woman with her did. Luckily the gag did a great job at reducing her profanities to barely intelligible muffled noises.

Her actions weren't going to help her but it was quite pleasant to hear an Orygar scream after having their finger bit off. Lyra chuckled at that thought as she was roughly pulled up and dragged out of the carriage.

"Take them to the nurse and get them checked for..." The man paused before groaning loudly. "Just bring them to Sherly and tell her they're being transferred with the other captives!"

From that much she could discern that this was a prison. She could only think how much of a bother this could be, they'd keep her in here for far too long. Considering the attitude of the previous man, that this should be a relatively smaller prison.

As they pulled her along eventually they'd throw her into a smaller room, judging how the sound seemed to echo inside.

"As for you…" A thump followed by a muffled yell resounded. "If Sherly has any problems; you'll enter your cell with more than just a few bruises." The girl was then thrown into her, Lyra lost her balance but was caught by a pair of gentle hands.

The hands helped her stand upright again. "Let's make this quick okay?" It was a woman's voice, it was quite deadpan and obvious she didn't want any part of this.

She felt her hands move along her body, feeling her move around her body, removing her longbow and rapier. But as the nurse's hands fell on her chest they stopped.

"Oh how nice" Her hands pulled on a metal piece, a clink as she had thrown it with the other confiscated goods. "Alright you're good. Go get this girl out!"

Lyra could hear the door open as she let the men pull her out. She'd wait there for a few moments as the nurse quickly finished with the rowdy one, tossing her out the door whilst muttering under her breath.

With a few more minutes of walking they finally arrived.

The guard pulling her stopped before a sharp, distinct sound of a sword being drawn. "Be good now, don't be like that child." The sword cut her ropes restraining her wrists before shoving her into the room.

Lyra quickly turns around removing the sack from her head and throwing it to the ground as the girl is unceremoniously thrown into the cell, accompanied by the door slamming on the two.

For the first time Lyra laid her eyes on her cellmate, she couldn't believe her eyes. The girl was petite and shorter than herself, but her figure was lithe, she had a well toned body. She noticed that she had many calluses on her knuckles and palm, she most likely fought barehanded up and close.

Though her red hair did spark some curiosity, if she was a farm girl of sorts maybe it'd be a deeper red. However Lyra knew coloured hair like that must come from birth not some dye, possibly a sign of something more?

Her suspicions were cut short as she focused for a moment on her, taking deep breaths, she could feel it. A form of evil but then again all humans had some stench on them.

'Disgusting!'

Alice's only thought was how irritating this fucking religion was. They didn't have to beat her and throw her around this whole godforsaken shithole.

Writhing on the ground she quickly got up, through the bag she could somewhat discern the visage of her cellmate.

"Whatcha standing there for!" Alice growls at her, anger seething through her words as she barks an order at her. "Could ya remove the bag?"

She stepped forwards leaning forwards impatiently waiting for her hand to remove the bag. When it finally grabbed the bag she spoke. "Whatcha waiting for?"

The girl then grasped hard, grabbing both the bag and her hair as she pulled up.

"OW OW OW - HEY YOUR RIPPING MY HAIR OFF!"

Once the girl painfully pulls off the bag she shrugs at her.

Alice carefully examined her friend. She has beautiful white skin stained In the dirty environment, black hair that goes to her shoulder with a deep crimson colour In Her eyes. Currently she was wearing a common shirt, she looked quite fit from the looks of it, her right arm seemed a bit more muscular than her left, indicating she may use a bow.

"You're quite feisty considering the situation aren't you?" She looks Alice up and down, her face slightly frowning when she finished, she said moving behind her to untie her. "Nonetheless you're here with me now, so why not get acquainted right?."

Alice watches her walk behind her, she didn't know how but her black hair seemed vibrant in the torch light. She watched her eyes, her blood red pupils that told a story too deep to just understand, as it trailed along her figure

The girl with ease undo's her wrists from the rope and Alice turns to face her.

"I'm Lyra." As she's walking to the bed, she sits on the edge before throwing the head back into the softness of it. "Fuck!" Lyra quickly sits up and holds her head before bringing her hand down to the mattress lifting the cloth to find wood underneath.

Alice quickly brought her hands to her mouth attempting to stifle her laughter but failed as her hearty laugh escaped her mouth.

"It hasn't even five minutes since you Fuck Wits got thrown into a cell and all you've done is scream!"

A large dragonborn stomped to the bars holding them seething. As he straightened himself up, his stature coupled with his deep voice extruded his authority, he looked as if he could take up 2 beds with his frame, as he stared ahead at the cell where the two women were bickering.

Eldes huffed, smoke coming out of his nose, reminding himself that he shouldn't lose control. He spoke again this time much calmer than before.

"There's no point in arguing--"

"I. Don't. Re. Mem. Ber! Anyone asking for your fucking input! Scaley cunt!"

At the young girl's response to him he began to fumes with anger, a large amount of smoke escaping his breath as he breathed deeply trying to calm himself.

Alice upon seeing his anger rebuttals to him. "What's wrong scallie? With someone with scales you sure have thin skin!"

From hearing this Eldes could no longer hold his rage in, he bellows walking away from the bars and to the measly toilet, he rears his legs back and with a kick destroys it leaving Eldes standing, drenched in toilet water.

A slight distance away from Eldes was Marcelline, looking at her pants, some parts of it now stained by the filthy water. She stared at her hands, her pale, white skin making the mess easily visible.

Despite this she brought her hands to her long jet black hair fruitlessly wiping the water away from it, Eldes had commented on her lack of pupils but bothered not to answer

Her eyebrows creased, 'Where am I meant to piss now?!', she thought but was suddenly cut short by hysterical laughter.

"There's no way in the nine hells you go off and break your toilet!" A man was laughing beside the two girls cell's. He had grey skin, short white hair and pointy ears, signs that all point to an elf… great.

Though, she already had been thinking about some method of escape. Originally using the dim witted lizard, she'd use him as a form of distraction, but a broken toilet does this well enough.

"By Orygars name what is going on 'ere!"

A yell roared from the end of the corridor, metal armour clinking with each step, only stopping as the man arrived at her cell.

An Orygar guard, he wore a helmet showing only his face, plate armour that covered only his torso engraved with a sun symbol, with chain mail over the rest of his body, he branded a shortsword on his waist and a shortbow on his back.

Marcelline sighed inwardly as she began her act.

She frantically scrambled towards the guard gripping the bars with desperation. "You gotta listen!, I just wanted to…" She looks at the remains of the toilet. "Look just please let me use the next one over, I'll be quick! I promise!"

The guard looks at her and the toilet. "Always this shit… Go on then" he grumbles. He Unlocks the door pulling Marcelline out and locking it behind her.

As this happened she pretended to trip on to the guard grabbing near his waist as fell.

The man shoved her away and threw her into the next cell where she'd quickly used the toilet before being forcefully returned to her own cell.

Once the guard had left she laid on her bed, pulling out 3 keys.

They were respectively named, 5, 2 and 3. Upon inspecting them Macelline found that their notches had a pattern.

The first two notches were exactly the same with the last two notches different, considering that maybe that it must mean, the type of key it was and if so what cellblock they'd be used for. Well she hoped at least.

2 and 6 were different for the last two notches, 2 being much lower than 6, she could work with this.

Marcelline reached into her boot pulling out a small file. The guards don't seem to really care about what they had, just taking weapons and valuables. She had three keys so three chances at this.

Moving to the bottom corner of her bed she pulled up the sheets, carefully copying each key's indents into the wood to remind her of them. There were 6 cells in total, three on their side and on ours. Her's was in the centre so there were either cell five or three.

With key three in her hand she tried her cell door as Edles still stood there.

"Aren't you a smart girl…" Lyra speaks up from her cell. "Use the toilet to get out and pickpocket the guard, though let's hope you got the right key."

"Woah you got the keys off the guard!" The elven man runs up to the bars grabbing them. "Pass me one, let me try!"

The key doesn't work and she looks at lyra. "This is yours." She holds it up like some toy for fetch. "I'll throw it over once I can open mine alright?"

Lyra simply scoffs at her remark.

On the other hand, "You better, I'll tear you a new one if ya don't", Alice presses her head against the bars as she does before taking a seat on her bed.

She files the first different notch of key 2 to the same height of 6's. She tries it on the door, finding it doesn't go all the way in. Looking at 6's both the last notches are the same height. So for key two she slowly files the last notch, lifting it higher slowly before trying it, repeating this before finally
