Chapter 63 - Sixty three

DECLAN POV

I watched from the corner chair as Lily sneaked inside, she hadn't seen me yet.

Right away, I knew what would lift my mood up.

The favorite pasttime of all big brothers, teasing.

"Where are you coming from?" I asked out loud.

She jumped up in shock as she turned around. I gave her a little wave.

"Hey sis!"

"Oh! Declan, I didn't see you there."

"I wonder why, it couldn't be I suddenly developed the superpower of being invisible."

"Good morning Declan."

I patted the seat next to me, gesturing for her to sit on it.

"Well, how you answer my questions will determine if the morning will be good or not."

She sighed and sat beside me.

"So, where are you coming from?" I asked her.

"A friend's place."

"What friend? I already called Stella and she had no idea where you went, do you have another friend?"

"You don't know this particular friend." she replied.

"ah! But last night, you told me you were going to a night drive to clear your head, how did that turn to you spending the entire night outside?"

"Well I didn't want to come back late at night and my friend's place was closer."

"I see, so that explains why you left with a gown and came back with an oversize T shirt and shorts. What a minute! They look like male clothing."

"They do?" she feigned cluelessness as she examined her clothes.

"Don't even try to play smart with me. This friend of yours, is it a male or female?"

"It's none of your business." she replied.

"Lily Ellington!"

"So, have you thought of how to apologize to Lily and her family for all your actions?" she changed the subject.

It was like a bowl of cold water had been poured on me. I immediately lost interest in teasing her.

"No, I still don't know how I am going to apologise that it would even make sense." I admitted.

She patted my shoulder sympathetically.

"I am sure you will think of something."

"I hope so."

"So tell me about the kids." she asked eagerly.

My smile came back to me in full force.

"Their names are Rhea and Rigel, Rigel looks just like me and Rhea looks like Daisy. Rhea is so beautiful and she is so brilliant, she is mature for her age. I don't know much about Rigel but from what I know, he is also a genius, Rhea says he talks a lot, calls him a chatter box." I chuckle at their antics.

Lily is looking at me with a strange expression.

"What is it?" I ask.

"It just feels unreal that you are a father and you have kids. I am so happy for you."

"Thanks Lily, now remember, keep the kids a secret from mom and dad. Remember, we still don't know who was behind the fake results." I warn her.

"I won't be surprised, mom and dad are capable of doing such a thing. But I had nothing to do with it." she assured me.

"I believe you Lily, and as for our parents, I want to believe that they wouldn't do such a thing, but if I do find out they did it, that would be the end of our relationship." I say firmly.

Lily nods in agreement.

"Breakfast everyone!" I hear my mother call from the dining room.

Lily tries to escape but I hold on to her.

"You aren't leaving me to deal with them alone."

She groans as I drag her with me to the dining.

We sat down at the breakfast table with our parents and started to eat.

"So Declan, have you heard the latest news?" my mom asked.

"What news mom?" I asked, feigning ignorance.

"That Daisy is a Helios. She is the last child and only daughter of the Helios family."

"Yes, I saw it." I replied.

"We were at the party when it was announced." Lily chipped in.

I shot her a glare and she stuck her tongue out at me in response. Such a childish brat.

"Really? How was it?" my mom asked, eager for gossip.

"Just like the video you watched." I replied.

The video of the announcement had gone viral on social media since last night.

"That girl was so dubious. Why did she hide her identity from us all these years. Was she trying to make a fool out of us?" my dad asked.

I tensed up with anger, Lily held my hand, shaking her head subtly.

"Calm down." she mouthed.

"Declan, I think getting back with her would favor this family greatly. Start contacting her, flirt with her, you know what to do." my mom suggested.

"Good idea dear, with the Selene family behind you and the Helios as your in laws. You would be unstoppable." my dad added.

My parent's had shocked me over the years with their attitude over the years but their shamelessness this morning shocked me like never before.

"Declan and Lily should be the ones to decide if they still love each other and want to get back together." Lily told them.

I squeezed her hand gratefully.

Her reply made our parents focus on her.

"and what would you know about love huh? You have never been in a reasonable relationship." my mom asked her.

"All you do is stay home and eat our food and waste our money. Until you have something reasonable to show for all your years on earth, I don't want to hear your voice." my dad scolded her.

Lily pulled her hand away from me and ran out of the dining room.

"Mom! Dad! Don't you think you were too harsh on her?" I asked them.

"Forget about her, she will be alright, now about Daisy, know that you have our full support to get her back"

"The both of you disgust me." I told them as I stood up.

While they were still in shock at what I had just said, I left them to go check on Lily.
