__________

It felt like countless, densely packed honeycombs appeared on the mountain.

Beneath these beehive-like formations, on the plains at the foot of the mountains, the dinosaur people and their kin had gathered together. At that moment, many of the dinosaur people were in a panic. Even the elder dinosaur people, who usually maintained their composure, appeared slightly pale.

The setting sun gradually dipped below the horizon, casting its fading light over the multitude of dinosaur people. The scene seemed to foreshadow that, like the setting sun, the dinosaur people would soon be engulfed in darkness.

The dinosaur elder had already heard countless powerful roars in the distance, a stark reminder of the brutal battle raging between their kin and the foreign races.

"God of Lava and Earth! Will you no longer protect your people?"

"What should we do?"

Countless dinosaur people whispered anxiously, with many beginning to pray in desperation. Only the elder at the center managed to maintain some semblance of calm.

Suppressing the fear in his heart, the elder frowned and raised his voice to scold them.

"Calm down, everyone!"

"This is a test from the god of lava and earth. Only by passing it can we truly call ourselves the descendants of god."

"The heroic Molten Flame Warriors will not die in vain. In death, they will ascend to the kingdom of the lava and earth god."

"Warriors of lava and earth do not fear war! This is the way we prove our devotion! Prepare for battle!"

The elder's words seemed to reinvigorate most of the dinosaur people, easing their panic and filling them with resolve to fight to the death for their beliefs. However, a few kept silent, a glimmer of despair evident in their eyes.

Would the god of earth and lava truly protect them? After all, none had ever witnessed the god awaken, let alone intervene.

Such a grueling test—could they really survive it?

Noticing their doubts, the elder frowned again and spoke with steady authority.

"The God of Lava and Earth will never abandon His people, just as we were blessed by the Father God in ancient times, endowed with wisdom and stronger bodies!"

At the elder's impassioned words, a renewed sense of hope and expectation flickered across the faces of the gathered dinosaur people.

Yes, they believed in the existence of their god—their Father God—who was said to be resting within the lava of the mountains. If the elders could awaken Him, perhaps there was still a chance.

In this primitive society, bound by faith, the presence of their god was the only thing that could truly give courage to the dinosaur people.

As the elder began his climb toward the mountain, the spirits of the dinosaur people began to rise. Some mustered the courage to head to the front lines, while others began constructing simple defensive lines with massive stones at the mountain's base.

At the edge of a vast, circular crater atop the mountain, the elder knelt down and began his prayer.

"Great God of Lava and Earth, please have mercy on your people."

"Your people are being slaughtered by outsiders. We beg for your arrival, your gaze, your blessing. Punish these foreign races, Father God! Save your people!"

The elder's trembling voice rose loudly, blending with the sound of the battle at the mountain's base. The dinosaur people could no longer hold on much longer—they clung to a last shred of faith.

Alongside the elder, other dinosaur people elders and children joined in prayer. Terror and despair filled their faces and eyes.

Fighting seemed futile; their only hope was to awaken the ancient god, even though they knew it was a near-impossible task. Still, even the slightest glimmer of hope was enough to keep them going. Faith was all they had left to cling to.

The mountain base filled with fear-laden whispers and the cries of children, while on the distant plains, more foreign races appeared. These were snake-headed humanoid creatures with snake tails—beings the dinosaur people had once tried to eliminate. Now, they stood alongside marine races with fish heads and human bodies, an alliance of necessity.

These alien beings also brought monstrous allies with them: giant basilisks, enormous octopi, terrifying sea serpents, and colossal sea monsters. Endless waves of enemies poured toward the gathering place of the dinosaur people, who fought desperately.

The battlefield spanned an area of nearly a hundred kilometers, erupting with deafening roars and relentless clashes.

The earth trembled, and the air was thick with echoes of battle.

This was where dinosaur people fought against foreign invaders.

Humanoids against humanoids.

Behemoth against behemoth.

In this ancient clash, brute force was the deciding factor.

The dinosaur people, weak at first, had grown strong under the blessing of their faith. Though some stood only four meters tall, they possessed incredible strength. They could hurl ten-meter-long snake creatures aside and even smash the heads of some aliens with a single punch.

Among the aliens, the snake people and marine races had their own advantages. Although weaker in strength, the snake people had sharp fangs and flexible bodies. Their bites could pierce the dinosaur people's stone-hard skin, and venom sapped their opponents' life force.

The marine aliens, like the shark people, matched the dinosaur people in strength and size. Their resilient skin absorbed the impact of many blows, though they needed constant hydration to survive on land. As the fight wore on, the shark people weakened due to dehydration.

But the sheer number of the foreign races created an unbridgeable gap.

The dinosaur people had been ambushed, losing most of their elite warriors early in the battle. Now, they were forced back, retreating to the plains beneath their sacred mountain.

On the battlefield, they fought with renewed desperation.

Behind them lay their future, their bloodline—the only kin they had left. Their struggle became more frenzied, resembling a cornered beast fighting with all it had.

Losses mounted on both sides, but no one retreated.

The snake and shark people knew that if they missed this chance, they might never get another opportunity to exterminate the dinosaur people. And the dinosaur people understood that retreat meant extinction.

Food was scarce in this primitive world, especially for giant beast races. Each tribe needed vast amounts of territory and prey to sustain itself. Thus, long-term conflict over resources and survival was inevitable.

For the shark people, the promise of the snake people had enticed them ashore. And though the dinosaur people had claimed the shallow seas for nearly a century, it was a violation that the marine races could no longer tolerate.

As the battle wore on, the dinosaur people's defeat became inevitable. Their ranks thinned, and they were forced back to the sacred mountain, their last sanctuary.

"Is this the end for our race?"

On the battlefield, despair began to take hold. They fought on, but hope was fading.

"Great God of Lava and Earth! Please save your people!"

The silent plea resounded in the hearts of countless dinosaur people. Their faith was all they had left.

Would the gods answer their prayers?

As blood stained the ground red, amidst countless desperate prayers, the sacred mountain began to tremble.
