Kyel, who had been spying on Talys for days, now had every bit of information he needed. He knew his favorite spot to eat lunch, the hour he arrived at school, his friend circle, and even his so-called enemies.
There wasn't any difficulty getting this info about Talys, and as for Kyel's plan, it was an easy task. Creating problems for Talys was his main goal.
That was all he was capable of right now, but making things hard for him would help a lot.
Especially, it would confirm what happened last time. If Talys showed any signs of abnormalities, then Kyel would switch to his next plan.
"Who tf are you? A cocksucker?" one of the boys said, tightening his grip on Kyel's shoulder.
"Starboy style, such a princess you are. I bet you're a last-year?"
Kyel chuckled and nodded. "Ehh, right, right. I just wanted to create some friendships with first-years, and yeah, you could say that I'm a cocksucker—haha—"
Before he could continue, he felt a sharp pain in his belly as one of the boys punched him hard.
It wasn't as if Kyel couldn't defend himself; if he fought back, he would ruin his plans. Plus, there was a chance that these kids would forget about Talys and start targeting him instead.
Kyel fell to the ground, but a smile crept onto his face as he managed to say, "Look—I'm not trying to create enmity with you guys.
"I've come here today to save your reputation. A guy named Talys is going around spreading rumors about you having affairs with each other. Like, he's saying that you're gay."
"THE FUCK YOU SAYING?" one of the boys shouted, grabbing him by his shirt and pulling him in a moment of rage. But Kyel didn't flinch.
"I just said the truth, nothing more, nothing less."
A boy walking down the hallway overheard and confirmed that some rumors were indeed spreading among the first-years.
The boys shouted, "SWEAR I'LL KILL HIM THIS TIME!"
One of them loosened his grip on Kyel's shirt, and they stormed off in the direction Kyel had suggested. Kyel just smiled, while the other boy didn't understand what was happening.
Kyel shouted after them, "I saw him eating lunch behind the library!"
With a final glance back at Kyel, they continued on their path. As soon as they left, Kyel got up and hurried after them. He wouldn't let this slide without watching—especially after being punched hard by someone two years younger. And it was all just to see if Talys could repeat what he did last time.
Kyel had a hidden spot to watch the whole thing, and when he got there, the fight had already begun.
But to his surprise, Talys wasn't on the losing side. He took on all five of them, using some spiral strikes and combat techniques as if he were a professional. Was he hiding his strength? This was what crossed the minds of the five.
What was this? They couldn't keep up with him; he was fast.
Kyel was more amazed than them. He hadn't expected this scenario. Someone who can defeat two people is somewhat believable, still reasonable, but to beat five with high skill—as if he were some sort of professional athlete—was like something out of a fantasy.
Talys, with an arrogant smile, said, "I was holding back for two reasons. First, I had no backup. Unlike you, born with a silver spoon in your mouth, I had to fight to get where I am right now. I could have beaten the shit out of you long ago.
"The only reason I refrained was because I knew you'd run to your rich daddies, and I'd be expelled from school, making things harder for me."
"But now, why would I care since I have someone backing me up? You want to start the bully game? I'll play it with you as long as you wish from now on."
"And one last thing, I'd like to see how long it takes you to recover. Hahahaha." He laughed to his heart's content, spat on them, and left.
Kyel just watched from afar, unnoticed. In his mind, he knew that Talys had something special, something making him capable of all this. But he envied him deeply.
Why him and not me?
Kyel was slowly losing his composure. He had to take action as soon as possible, but could he really do it? His mind was scattered—where, when, and how?
Especially after seeing Talys's actions, his fast reactions, his skill, and the mysterious system he'd mentioned. What if it had miraculous functions?
Kyel didn't care about anything in life. He had been a neutral, indifferent figure, unmoved even by the deaths of his father and mother.
But now, something inside him told him this was the opportunity to be the one who shines. His mind was screaming that this was his chance.
He didn't believe the nonsense he found online—superhero movies, anime, web novels.
But deep down, he was looking for some proof that any of it was real. He hated this world, but he also didn't care about it.
Yet, somewhere inside, he was looking for something to satisfy his hunger. From the moment he saw Talys on the rooftop, healing his bruises as if nothing had happened, he felt something stir.
That day, he made a resolve deep within himself.
Envy and jealousy sparked a fire in him.
If there was a chance he could take what Talys had, he would do it. The only thing holding him back was not knowing how—and the lack of a clear chance.
Through his body and mind, he was prepared for his next action: to kill. The resolve he made was to end Talys's life.
He wouldn't let Talys live another day, not if he could help it. He planned to do it before the end of the school day.
All this, just to satisfy the sin of envy that had taken over his mind and soul.
