Arius' Adventures
Chapter 04: The Art of Jumping and the Art of Reverse Jumping.
-Darkseid-
In the depths of Apokolips, Darkseid's gaze narrowed, his crimson eyes intensifying as the incoming data from the Mother Box flooded his mind. Vyragos, a relatively primitive world, had been chosen as an easy target, perfect for Granny Goodness to conquer.
The planet's resources were to fortify his armies for the inevitable assault on Earth. Yet, in the data transmitted, there were readings of the planet and the inhabitants with one in particular making even Darkseid pause. His physical strength and resilience on par with the Kryptonian. With energy levels that weren't able to be measured properly.
While he didn't know where this alien was a foe or not he would either join or die. Its DNA would be useful to create stronger parademons with the planet's biological creatures being the crafting materials. So whether that thing (Arius) joins willingly or not he would have a way to empower his forces even more.
And it had been awhile since he had a good fight and if it resisted it might be a good warmup before conquering the mortals known as the Justice league along with the False Gods who resided on Earth who called themselves Olympians. The last time he invaded he was a mere fledging of a New God, this time he was going to utterly dominate the meager planet.
He rose from his throne, the echoes of his footsteps alone enough to send tremors through the fortress. This unknown being on Vyragos warranted more than caution, it called for annihilation. Darkseid summoned the Female Furies, his elite strike force, and ordered an additional two legions of Parademons to accompany him, taking around thirty minutes for everything to be prepared for the assault and once everything was prepared he activated the motherbox mentally.
In the end only Bernadeth, Stompa & Mad Harriet of the Female Furies could accompany him to Vyragos as the other furies were occupied and with his involvement it was nearly impossible for the result to be anything except utter domination, so he continued.
The air around him hummed with restrained fury as he opened a Boom Tube to Vyragos, his forces gathering at his command.
As he materialized on the surface of Vyragos where the Mother Box last marked Granny Goodness a cold silence greeted him. His eyes scanned the twisted landscape, quickly locating Granny Goodness. However the state of her body left much to be desired as it was impaled vertically from her lower orifice and ran through her body uncaring for the squishy internal things called organs before exiting through her mouth in a way even he was impressed at the brutality of.
The tip had been melted to completely fill her mouth with molten metal as it cooled. The rod itself was a crude makeshift metal pole combined of multiple metal fragments welded together, her face twisted in a final, grotesque grimace as if screaming in agony and dying with regret.
The way it was displayed was as it was to mark whoever did this as superior to himself. Her body was raised above the ground with not even her feet touching the floor as if to send a warning and intimidate him, which only made Darkseid angrier at the sheer gall from the moral who dared.
This time he accessed the Mother Box that he sent with Granny Goodness and Darkseid quickly reviewed the information that was last left on it. Her last manual update was the name of the being along with his race before gloating of his capture shortly followed by an alert sent by the Mother Box itself requesting for help as the Saiyan escaped and was torturing Granny Goodness.
Truly disgraceful was all Darkseid could think while imagining one of his lieutenants having the upperhand in so many ways and still dying a dogs death as she begged for mercy calling out his name to help her even in her last moments. In the end he cared little for Granny Goodness' death but for the being who dared harm one who bore his name and came in his conquest would suffer.
And behind her impaled body a figure was seen messing with containment units that were used when capturing live animals to use as genetic material for parademons. Darkseid observed the man's movements as he freed caged primates. He looked rather unintelligent and barbaric in his worn garb, yet there was a controlled power in the way he carried himself that belied his appearance, as if he was constantly holding back.
To a majority in the vast universe the sheer presence of the Saiayn would be enough to scare them off , but to Darkseid he was no more than a mere obstacle. Sure he had the exhibited power that had bested Granny Goodness but now he stood defiantly before Darkseid himself. A mistake he would regret and one Darkseid knew the Saiyan would resist with all their might, but in the end it was all the same. He was inevitable.
However the sheer gall for the Saiyan to continue to ignore his presence even after hearing their arrival caused a quiet rage to simmer beneath Darkseid's stoic exterior. "You," he commanded attention with his voice, a deep guttural growl that boomed throughout the clearing, "will kneel and obediently be obliterated." The Evil God ordered.
The man merely glanced over his shoulder, his gaze unyielding and calm, yet with a primal fire in his golden eyes, an unspoken challenge to the god who ruled with fear.
-Arius-
Arius straightened, his piercing gaze unwavering as he faced down the imposing figure of Darkseid. Sure he knew this was the big bad of the DC universe, but there were plenty stronger then him all across fiction and even now after having bullied his Granny Goodness his lieutenant with ease Arius grew confident that in a battle of might he would come out victorious. *MN* "Leave now the battle will cause a lot of damage." Arius said to the monkeys who he freed with them nodding and slowly making their way to the edge of the clearing as if any sudden movement would set off the battle and after the last was making its way Arius finally turned his full attention to the invaders.
"Leave my world or end up like your subordinate," he warned, his tone calm but laced with venom as he gestured to Granny Goodness's body impaled in twisted metal. His words sent a ripple of anger through the Female Furies, who snarled at his audacity.
"How dare you speak to Lord Darkseid with such disrespect?" Lashina spat, her whip cracking in the air as she stepped forward, urging her sisters into formation. "We'll handle this insolent creature," she sneered, turning briefly to Darkseid. "This is beneath you, my lord. Allow us to dispose of him."
Honestly seeing human shaped females that weren't old and saggy did attract Arius' attention briefly as he was going through puberty at the moment and was dealing with sexual urges that were even worse then when he was human. Hell as embarrassing as it was he had even gotten off to a piece of extra curvy driftwood which he would tell no one.
However he had no more time to ruminate on his unfulfilled urges as with a signal, the Furies launched their assault in perfect unison, moving with lethal precision honed by countless battles. But Arius was ready already having powered up to escape the binding and deal with Granny Goodness not letting it fade, likely he normally would.
He easily sidestepped Stompa's heavy-footed lunge, countering with a swift punch that sent her crashing back. Before he could take another breath Mad Harriet lunged at him with her claws bared, yet he swatted her aside with one powerful backhand. Then from behind Bernadeth who circled around having used her two companions as distractions tackled him, sending both of them sprawling to the ground. She was surprisingly strong when it came to physical strength ranking above the other he'd faced.
When being wrestled to the ground the previously knocked away Mad Harriet comes back with vengeance stabbing into his side with her claws making Arius grunt in pain at the feeling of cold metal penetrating his flesh.
He really should stop being so reckless when it comes to fighting, but with every animal and beast on this world having long been weaker than him Arius never developed or trained much for physical techniques, solely focusing on his Ki blasts to help regulate the amount of damage they would do.
Arius gritted his teeth containing the scream of pain that wanted to tear from his throat, but he held it in not wanting to give them the satisfaction of hearing them cause him pain. His muscles strained as he grappled with Bernadeth before getting her with one arm locking her head in place, her laughter cutting through the chao that was their battle as she unleashed body shot to his torso while pumping her feet to drive him back.
In rage he pulled on more of his strength and grew even further, quickly grasping Mad Harriet by her head encasing it in his palm and threw her body into the air watching it fly for a bit before launching a Ki blast from his mouth that envelops Mad Harriet and propelled her body into the edge of the clearing at Mach Jesus using her body a cannonball with it being shot through various trees. The still struggling Bernadeth not stopping her barrages of punches that stung him slightly, but did no significant damage especially after powering up more.
In the distance, the liberated monkeys watched with growing rage, their eyes fixated on the scene. One of them in particular watched as the boy who she raised was ganged up on by what she assumed were the same being who caged them and let out a primal scream that reverberated across the battlefield.
Kara, Arius's adopted mother charged toward Darkseid with unrelenting fury, her fur bristling at the assumed leader of their enemies with the intent to end his life before going to help Arius with the others, but she wasn't prepared for the outcome that baffled her. She thought with her size towering over him she would quickly overpower him and end Darkseid's life, but things did not turn out how she expected.
The Apokoliptian warlord barely shifted his body from observing Arius as he glanced at the enraged Kara. With a single motion his eyes ignited with a deadly crimson glow of the Omega Beams that many in the Universe had come to fear.
"Shit!" Arius muttered seeing the reckless decision of his adopted mother as he quickly went to try and save her but the burden known as Bernadeth made herself known and seemed to have gained a surge in strength in that one moment her arms wrapped around his waist locking him in place and slowly him down enough to prevent him from reaching Kara in time as the beams shot forward unerring and ruthless, striking Kara in the abdomen mid-charge.
"No!" Arius shouted, his voice cracking as he finally broke free of Bernadeth's hold by twisting and breaking one of her in a way it wasn't supposed to end, only to watch in horror as Kara stumbled, writhing in agony. Her form shimmered, her fur disintegrating at the edges. "Please stay with me! I can't lose you! Please!"
Yet, through the pain, she accepted her impending death and turned her fading gaze to Arius, her voice a soft murmur. *MN* "I love you, my son." With one last gasp, her body fully dissolved, scattering to ashes as the Omega Effect erased her completely.
"No… nonononononononononoNONONONO! God you must be watching right?! Bring her back! Please!" Arius pleaded having just witnessed the death of his mother. He continued to beg and plead to the only being he knew for a fact could bring her back.
"..." However, God didn't respond.
Arius fell to his knees, his fists clenched against the ground, his body trembling. "Why?" he managed, his voice barely above a whisper, filled with the weight of grief and disbelief.
Soon a shadow towered over his kneeling form and Arius looked up to see Darkseid's intimidating figure. In truth at the very moment he understood why so many beings in the Universe were terrified of the being in front of him. The ruthlessness at which he would kill what you loved was heart wrenching and for a split second Arius felt like giving up as he no longer felt a need to live.
"Pathetic. All that power and you show so much care for such an inferior creature. Even now I thought you would put up more of a fight but all I see is a coward and a failure." Darkseid's lips curled into a cold, dismissive sneer. "That… thing you are mourning for was simply an annoying ape. Now prepare yourself to join it in the afterlife." His eyes lighting up with a crimson hue once more.
The world slowed down again and again nearly to a stand still in Saiyan's eyes as he processed what Darkseid just said and it was true he was a failure. He failed to notice an animal when he first arrived which led to Kara having to save him, he failed to stand up for himself completely when being bullied by the children of the tribe, he failed to arrive back in time when the tribe and Kara were being attacked, he failed to notice he was being deceived by Granny Goodness which cause himself and the tribe to be captured and he failed to save the one being he truly cared about in his new life.
Even with the power of Broly, The Legendary Super Saiyan, his entire life for the past couple years had been filled with nothing but failures. But he something clicked into place as a vow took place in Arius' heart one he would not fail at 'to kill Darkseid and every mother fucker related to him'.
The final tread of humanity snapping within Arius as 'Broly' came out to play, his eyes widened flashing golden before going completely white as an indescribable rage ignited within him. Every ounce of restraint and semblance of control crumbled as his energy flared violently, crackling in arcs of green fury.
His grief turned to fury, his anguish to wrath, as he let out a primal roar that shook the very planet beneath him and perhaps even beyond, his power soaring beyond anything the Furies or Darkseid had ever witnessed.
Arius trembled, his entire being consumed by an all-encompassing rage as his grief transformed into raw, unchecked power. His aura exploded around him in a second wave as a rippling wave of energy in the form of violent green flames surged like an inferno. His muscles bulged even further beyond, his eyes blank with fury, and a feral roar erupted from his throat, echoing across Vyragos.
The Legendary Super Saiyan within him had fully awakened.
His green aura cratered the surrounding eight hundred meters with the parademons who were located within it being squashed to paste exploding like grapes, however in his anger Arius failed to realize that he also caught some of the villagers with the weight of his aura killing them as well. The remaining few fled for their lives in any direction that was away from where they currently were.
"RRAAAAGGHHHHHHH!!! DARKSEID!" Arius roared, locking onto the Evil God with his eyes and Ki sense. The Evil God, though not affected much, still slightly straining himself at the weight of Arius' rage in the form of aura crashed down on him trying to make him submit. And along with Darkseid the three Female Furies who unlike the parademons didn't explode however they lacked the strength to move beyond a moderate pace being reduced to bystanders at the moment too useless to do anything.
"Silence mongrel! If you think this insignificant display of power will intimidate me then you are as foolish as that insignificant ape!" The God of Apokolipis demanded of the being he saw as his lesser attempted to make him submit. Many had tried and just as many had failed Darkseid would see to it that another name is added to the list.
"DARKSEID!!!" Arius roared not a coherent thought anywhere in his mind as he launched himself faster than he'd ever gone at Darkseid landing a thunderous punch so hard it sent a shockwave that launched the furies outside the perimeter of Arius' aura and the canapory of trees surrounding the clearing where knocked over.
*BOOOOM*
The landscape was scared beyond all repair however not one to stay down Darkseid though shocked at the amount of strength that Arius was unleashing was undeterred as he launched himself at the Saiyan with murder clearly written on his face.
Without a second's hesitation, Arius flew at Darkseid blindly at a speed even faster than before. In fact in his current state it wouldn't be too far-fetched to compare him to a comet of rage. His fist crashed into the Warlord's chest with such force that the very air split, hurling Darkseid back in a thunderous arc that ended in the distant mountains. Stone shattered upon impact, sending shockwaves rippling through the landscape, the ground cracking beneath the weight of the clash.
From the rubble, Darkseid emerged, his face twisted in a fury that mirrored Arius's own, crimson eyes alight with a sinister glow. The Omega Beams that the New God was known for shot forward aimed to obliterate this insubordinate Saiyan who refused to submit.
But Arius merely lifted his arm, green Ki encasing his forearm as he batted the beams away with a contemptuous swipe. His eyes, wild and unfocused, only locked onto Darkseid as he charged once more, the only thought in his mind, 'KILL DARKSEID!'.
This time, Darkseid met Arius head-on, their clash sending out an eruption of power that cratered the planet even further beneath them. As they grappled, Darkseid's experience allowed him to out maneuver Arius as his fist struck Arius with a crushing power that drove the Saiyan into the ground.
The warlord, not one to be idle seized the opportunity, straddling the Saiyan and raised his fists continuing to pummel Arius with a barrage of strikes that shook the ground with each blow, mixing in blasts of the Omega Effect that seared the air around them with Arius having no choice, but to cross his arms over his face.
But rather than weaken, each strike only stoked the flames of Arius's rage. His growls deepened, growing more feral as he absorbed each hit. Finally, with a primal roar, Arius opened a gap in his arms and unleashed a burst of green energy from his mouth, a blazing Ki blast that caught Darkseid squarely in the face, launching him off Arius and searing a portion of his face the scalding heat causing him pain that he hadn't felt in centuries.
Darkseid staggered, both momentarily caught off-guard and in pain as he raised his hand to his face to cover the burn he suffered from the Ki blast and in that split second, Arius quickly shot into the sky, eyes filled with unyielding rage as he locked on his target below. His hands charged with Ki, and with a roar that tore through the heavens, he unleashed a relentless storm of energy blasts, each one crashing down on Darkseid like meteors.
The planet itself seemed to tremble beneath the onslaught, the sky filling with blinding green and gold explosions as the land shattered and the mountains crumbled under the sheer ferocity of Arius's wrath. Vyragos groaned beneath the Saiyan's rage, its core shaken by the fury of the Legendary Super Saiyan.
Arius's barrage of Ki blasts continued unabated, each explosion intensifying the fiery storm that engulfed the landscape. For over a minute, the ground trembled under the relentless onslaught, the air thick with the blinding green glow of the Legendary Super Saiyan's fury.
Finally, as Arius allowed himself to stop and catch his breath, he peered through the haze of smoke and flame his teeth bared in anticipation, hoping that the enemy lay vanquished.
But as the wind blew the dust away and the smoke cleared, there was Darkseid, still standing defiantly at the center of a smoldering crater, his body marred with burns, his armor chipped and shattered, leaving only his pants intact. The New God's arms were raised defensively over his head, and dark blood dripped from the gashes across his form. Around him, the ground was scorched, cracked open to reveal molten lava from the sheer heat of the Ki blasts.
Arius growled not a thought behind his eyes as the memory of Kara dying before him was constantly replaying in his mind, so he prepared to launch another barrage. Yet, before he could continue something sliced through the air and turning around he saw the Female Furies, bruised but undeterred, attacked in unison, crashing into him from all sides.
The combined might of the three were enough to drag him to the ground where he made them pay the price by using his Ki to accelerate their fall with Arius positioning the three below him to absorb the impact of the fall with the three Female Furies being stunned momentarily from the impact and he went to end their lives, but fate wouldn't allow it.
As their distraction gave Darkseid the opening he needed. In a swift motion, he appeared behind Arius, powerful arms wrapping around him in an iron chokehold. Once again preventing Arius from dealing the finishing blow once again.
The Furies quickly leaped in, clamping onto his both legs and one arm in an attempt to restrain him, using all their might to keep him contained, each one digging into his flesh for better grip. Darkseid's eyes ignited crimson with Omega Beams as he unleashed them directly into Arius's chest, focusing the deadly energy on the Saiyan's heart.
The beams curved with Darkseid's will, homing in on Arius's chest as they carved into him, their searing heat ripping through his flesh. Arius bellowed both in rage and pain, his muscles straining as he struggled against the four holding him, momentary flashbacks of the shackles that held him prior and similarly his rage continued building fueling his strength. As he continued to draw power from his core that seemed to never end granting him even more strength.
Through the pain, he felt his anger swell and with a snarl he yanked Darkseid's arm that was around his neck up and then bit down into it with mindless ferocity. His teeth dug into the Apokoliptian's flesh as blood filled his mouth, a rancid taste accompanying it. And with a surge of Ki from his mouth, he blasted a hole straight through even as Darkseid tried to retract it. Unfortunately it was too late for the God of Apokolips as Arius pulled with his free arm and tore the arm free in a savage act of defiance.
Darkseid, unable to remain stoic through getting his arm ripped off, backed away using his remaining arm to try and stop the bleeding from the stump that used to be his right arm.
And Arius, now free from the chokehold, used the severed limb as a weapon and swung it to beat away the three Furies clinging to him. Some of their weapons stayed dug into his flesh even as the three were flung into the distance, landing in heaps amidst the burning ruins. However with another flex of his power he sent Ki though his body and ejected the foreign objects from his body.
Darkseid, who had staggered back and was still clutching the bleeding stump of his arm, glared at Arius, his face contorted with pain and rage. But before Darkseid could fully recover, Arius lunged the severed arm still in his grasp, aiming to strike his enemy down.
In response, Darkseid summoned every ounce of his remaining strength, releasing another Omega Beam that struck just above Arius's heart, intending to obliterate the Saiyan's core.
Arius countered by throwing the arm as a distraction which Darkseid caught without hesitation, but caused a slight lapse in concentration which allowed Arius to release twin beams of his own, this time from his hands. The four energy beams collided, their clash creating a vortex of power between them.
The force of their energy beams strained against each other, lighting the sky in a deadly struggle. But as Arius drew more on his never ending strength and pushed forward with an animal-like prowl, the Furies recovered, flanking him with renewed determination once again with annoying persistence.
Darkseid, weakened but calculating, made a business decision. He mentally communicated with the Mother Box that quickly opened a Boom Tube, and with a final Omega Beam to keep Arius at bay, he retreated through the portal and with Darkseid vanishing into its depths as it quickly closed before Arius could follow.
He angrily turned his attention to the three Female Furies who quickly realized they were abandoned. Mad Harriet the most intelligent of the three quickly said, "Wait you must be lacking female-" However she never got to finish as Arius's fury reached its breaking point soaring even higher at his denied vengeance. A roar of unrestrained anger tore from his throat as his aura flared to its maximum, green flames engulfing him.
With every ounce of pent-up rage, he unleashed his energy in a cataclysmic explosion that shook the entire continent, the force leveling everything in his wake for as far as the eye could see. Disintegrating the three who were pleading for mercy.
As the dust settled, Arius stood alone amidst the ruin, his eyes cold, his body shaking his rage finally abating enough for coherent thoughts to enter his mind. He raised his fists to the sky, his voice filled with an oath that echoed across the desolation: "Darkseid…I will kill you."
-Darkseid-
Back on Apokolips unaware of the vow that would endanger his life, Darkseid stood his once commanding presence marred by the lingering injuries of his recent battle. His broken armor, bleeding wounds, and the stump where his arm once was that was now crudely bandaged but still bleeding. Despite the pain, he walked with resolute, unyielding authority through the darkened halls of his palace, his eyes narrowed in cold contemplation.
The silence of his loyal attendants reflected an unspoken understanding of his mood. Without pausing, Darkseid ordered the Mother Boxes to erase every record of Apokolips' involvement with the planet Vyragos from its archives. Noticing slight movement from the corner of his eye Darkseid glared at the technicians who dared glance at him, his voice a low, venomous growl as he issued his commands.
"This mission does not exist. Any trace of our involvement with Vyragos' location, any data we gathered is to be purged from the main system," he instructed. "No one is to speak of it, and any mention of the incident will be met with swift execution."
Without hesitating he used his Omega Beams and erased the technician who glanced at him showing he would stand by his word and accessed the security systems himself, erasing the information from the main system and server the only copy being a hidden record labeled only with the highest encryption codes known in Apokoliptian protocol, which was himself. The file was locked behind the most rigorous security levels, marked with a single directive: avoid at all costs.
As the Mother Box confirmed the data's encryption, Darkseid glanced one final time at the screen before wiping his blood from the console with calculated disdain. "There will be no stain on Darkseid's record," he muttered about himself in third person, as if voicing an absolute truth of the universe.
Darkseid turned sharply, signaling to his Mad Harriet. "Prepare the rejuvenation chamber. I will heal what that… creature dared to harm." His tone held an undercurrent of hatred, a simmering fury that rarely graced the lips of the Dark God of Apokolips. Yet it was a fury he would allow to fester, as fuel for his future plans.
As he entered the rejuvenation chamber, settling into the healing fluids that began to close his wounds and reconnect his lost arm, his thoughts turned to Earth. The Anti-Life Equation, his ultimate prize lay hidden somewhere on that fragile blue world. The Earthlings had long been a nuisance, especially with the Kryptonian, but once the Anti-Life Equation was in his possession, resistance would be meaningless.
A dark smile twisted his lips as he considered his plans. Earth would soon tremble under his power, and once he held the Anti-Life Equation, he would return to Vyragos. The Saiyan would learn that no one. No mortal, no God, nor legend could defy Darkseid and live.
As the healing process worked its slow, methodical magic, Darkseid's voice reverberated through the chamber in a low, determined vow: "When I return to Vyragos, Arius will beg for mercy before I finish what I started." He spoke finally using the name of someone he would reluctantly consider his equal.
The lights dimmed as the chamber sealed, and Apokolips remained quiet, watching in silence as its lord prepared for vengeance on a scale the universe had never seen.
-Arius-
Arius stood alone in the desolate ruins of what had once been his home. The land was scarred, blackened by the unleashed fury of his Legendary Super Saiyan form. As the dust settled, clarity returned, and with it, a cold, crushing realization. Scattered around him lay the remains of those who had once called this place home—the monkeys he'd fought to protect, now reduced to nothing more than charred fragments. His gaze fell on the place where Kara had last stood, her warmth and strength erased by Darkseid's merciless power.
He moved through the ashes, gathering what pieces he could find, his heart heavy with grief and guilt. For hours, he worked in silence, crafting a makeshift burial mound for each of them. When he placed the final stone above Kara's resting place, he felt his knees buckle.
He sat there in silence, head bowed, the weight of his actions settling heavily upon him. His rage had empowered him, but it had also destroyed everything he'd fought to save. His fists clenched against the earth, and he berated himself, his words a whisper carried on the wind.
"All that power, and I'm still…weak. Too weak to use my full strength without losing control."
Arius closed his eyes, a bitter silence settling over him. Before Arius thought that having his powers made everything easier however he failed to realize that with great power comes great responsibility.
The last time he was able to save the remaining half of the villagers from those creatures this time was different. He ended the lives of his tribe, he truly felt the gravity of his abilities, and the responsibility that came with them. He understood now that he couldn't afford to lose himself to rage again, not if he hoped to protect those he cared for.
However Arius didn't have anything else to care for as Darkseid had taken the only thing he truly cared for in this universe from him and he did the rest, losing control and killing the tribe.
Taking a deep breath, he rose, his resolve hardening like steel. He would train harder than ever before. Hopefully by the next time he met the New God he would've mastered his power. Being able to control the Legendary Super Saiyan within to ensure that the next time he faced Darkseid the puny god would find no escape.
Days turned into weeks as Arius migrated to a new part of Vyragos, away from the ruins he'd left behind. The land here was peaceful, untouched by the ravages of his battle, with lush forests and rolling rivers. He found solace in the simplicity of his new home and built a modest wooden shack, a place of solitude and reflection where he could lose focus and relax.
At first he constantly traveled the continent of his previous home during the day to see if he could find his space pod which he did after a few days, but it was a piece of scrap metal no longer capable of flight let alone space travel, so he decided to store it away for now behind his shack, but still used the battleground for training, so he could go full power without fear of losing control and destroying everything again as the land was already a barren wasteland.
One morning, while out by the river next to his home, Arius threw some bait and knelt by the water's edge, hand ready to catch his breakfast. As he leaned in, a small splash from his side caught his attention, a little turtle flipped on its back and helplessly wiggling its legs. Arius sighed, reaching out to turn the creature right-side up before returning to his task moving from spot to spot to hopefully find some fish.
Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed the turtle slowly following him, waddling along the shore as if determined not to be left behind. Amused but feigning indifference, he went on with his day, trying to ignore the little follower.
Later that week as Arius lay in his shack, the familiar crunch of footsteps reached his ears. He tensed, ready to make dinner from any creature foolish enough to wander too close. But as he turned, expecting a predator, he found only the same turtle at his doorstep, staring at him with a blank stare.
After a minute of a staredown with the tiny creature Arius sighed, relaxing that the creature likely wouldn't just go away and against his better judgment he decided to do for it what Kara did for himself as he couldn't help but feel a pang of reluctant fondness for the tiny intruder that most likely walked days in a predator infested forest to get to him.
However what Arius didn't consider is that when he flipped the turtle it rubbed some of his scent on the tiny creature making every creature that would hunt it avoid the tiny thing as if it had the plague.
"Fine," he muttered, picking up the turtle and setting it gently inside. "You can stay, but if you stay you're probably going to die sooner or later? As long as you understand that you can chill her and for now let's give you a proper name."
He thought for a moment, a small tug at his lips as he settled on something grandiose, perhaps too much so for such a tiny creature. "Alexander Hamilton Sheldon the Third." The turtle blinked, unperturbed. "But I guess I'll just call you… Shelly."
The turtle now identified as Shelly simply made its way into Arius' shack as if it was always his home and nestled in a corner of the makeshift bed which slightly baffled the Saiyan. However not one to dwell on such things Arius lay down once again feeling a strange sense of calm settle over him.
As the days went on, Shelly became a steady presence, a reminder of his promise to hopefully control his power and protect rather than wanton destruction.
But his end goal was all the same to end Darkseid.
-Death of the Endless-
There was a constant influx of souls in the quadrillions the flowed into her realm from around the Multiverse and she normally wouldn't pay much attention to a singular entity, but when a soul marked by The Presence was directed toward her she was interested.
The soul was put into stasis along with a note that baffled even her.
'Don't lose or the Multiverse will end.'
She was Death of the Endless, a being who has always been and always will. An existence who was created at the dawn of everything and will be there to welcome the end of everything. She had already witnessed the Multiverse ending and starting over multiple times, but for it to end permanently was something she never thought would ever occur.
Seeing that the soul was of a mortal who was simply a big monkey with no significant or extraordinary qualities she was confused, but abided by the note not wanting the Multiverse to permanently end at least not yet. Considering everything the only conclusion she could think of was that this soul was related to someone extraordinary.
'Who is it?' Was the thought that followed, her mind racing as she decided to read the past of the soul that was now in her grasp and memories flooded her mind that she easily filtered. Only seeing one being of any particular value in the monkey's life.
"Arius? Hmm I wonder if that's the man that could end it all." The voice of Death echoed within her realm as she stored away the soul inside her very being to keep it concealed and safe.
"It seems we'll be meeting soon."
A/N: Uhhhhh jes. So I finally got around to the DC part of this fic and want to say that it is confusing as fuck so sorry in advance for any inconsistency if you find them let me know and I'll probaly fix them as long as I'm not too lazy.
Anyway Arius is really like that and this is only the start because there's going to be a Round 2 and like I said earlier Arius always gets his get back.
Again a rather shameless plug, but if you like the story and want to read advanced chapters consider going to my Patreon to support me. There's some advanced chapters of my other stories too and with the big P site being wonky I also made a subscribe star as a back up.
