He stopped in mid-chew. He hadn't eaten much of the meal at the restaurant he'd gone to earlier for the business meeting; it had been too hot, and now his stomach was turning again.
After a brief pause he said, "I might just take you up on that; I think I have some pasta back at my place. Wanna come?"
She answered instantly, "I'll make some pasta right now." Go take a shower.
He turned his head to look over his shoulder at her. She looked prettier and warmer than usual bathed in the soft orange light of the room above.
After fifteen minutes had passed, Marlena came to the master bedroom door where I was and she had a plate of spaghetti in her hands. But when she knocked on the door there was no answer.
With no other choice she opened the door. "Shaunny, the meal is ready."
No people are in the room. Through the frosted glass of the shower a man's figure is seen.
She was shocked by what she had seen and had to wonder how would the man look with nothing at all.
The thought her mind created made both of her cheeks red.
She should not be thinking such thing, ah, wait.
The door made of frosted glass was being pushed open, as she had just turned around and was walking off.
Wesley got out of it and he removed his clothes, but there's a towel carelessly wrapped around his waist, there are water drops from the shower that'd clung to his hair and slid down the side of his sharp jaw all the way down to this chest.
Her eyes followed their movement and she gasped.
She knew he would have a good body but she didn't expect it to be this good.
His skin had a perfect wheatish colour and every part of his body was so well toned. The man had a chiselled body, he wasn't too bulked up like a body builder though.
The toned body had a masculine pull which only a man who has seen the world can have . She further looked down and saw his impeccably toned waist.
'Are you done seeing yet?'
She could still hear the man's deep voice in her ears.
Marlena pulled herself abruptly together. Her cheeks were hot, she knew they were.
essentially Grayson's flawlessly handsome face had raised her. How could she let herself be swept away by one look from another man?
Not happening.
I… My intention is to bring you your meal. The noodles will start to get hard, so please eat them quickly.
She put the plate away immediately. While she was leaving the room, at the edge of the carpet, her feet stumbled on something and she lost her balance down stairs
She felt as if she had made it for those brief moments but still fell flat on her face.
Luckily, she fell on the mat and wasn't hurt too badly.
The man's long legs and... were the first thing she saw as she opened her eyes again.
"Why did you drop the towel?" I asked.
Marlena had never been through this before, so she was in complete awe. Marlena realized she had the white towel in her hand as she reached over to cover her eyes.
Wait... Was that why? Because earlier she had tugged the towel from his face?
"The towel was an issue?"
His apathy sliced her cheeks like icy frost. "You're the most unashamed woman I've ever met."
She felt like crying, but she didn't. "I didn't mean to. I just tripped on the mat."
"I've been walking across that mat every day for a year now, never once had any trouble with it." She wasn't going to be let off that easily. The man obviously didn't believe her.
She blinked a blank expression. "Uh, I guess after seeing your godly, perfect body my brain shut down and it's like I can't focus," she said before snapping her mouth closed.
He sneered down at her. He'd dealt with women before; he knew that excuse was on the top of their list.
"So you're saying that it's my fault now?"
"No, not at all. Really, I should be the one at fault here since I don't have much years to live."
Will you please stop staring? Now go. Wesley couldn't take any more of it. He fought to keep from kicking her in the face as his blood began to percolate.
Sure thing. I'd be happy to leave.
Marlena got up quickly and went to the door.
"Please stand there!"
A disgruntled voice bellowed from behind her. His mouth was shut, and he simply said, "Give me my towel."
She looked at the towel sitting in her hand. She wished there was a hole nearby that she could crawl in because she had never been more embarrassed.
"This is where." She thrust the towel into his hands even as she braced herself with a brave smile.
When he realized why she was looking at him that way, he didn't know what to say.
How daring this woman is.
Clap! Puffing, Marlena closed the door behind her.
Before she went out of the room she turned round again, and I saw that his ears were really growing still redder at the tips. Was he blushing?
I must say, it was rather cute.
After this incident she went straight back to her room, and didn't dare stay in the living room again.
But it seemed like her mind couldn't even process the shock.
She didn't realize how long had passed until there was a sudden knock on her door.
The woman shot up, frightened. She answered weakly after a few seconds, asking if they could talk about it tomorrow. I'm tired.
"When you go to sleep, do you leave your lights on?" came Wesley's deep voice from under the door crack. "Don't make me get the key."
Sighing, she rubbed her forehead and opened the door.
A man was standing beside the door in pajamas. Gray also but lighter and shinier. There was something airish and gay about his aftershave lotion. He had buttoned his coat at the collar, he had a big Adam's apple he wanted to hide, but it wasn't cold really, only October.
"What are you glaring at?"
Wesley felt her gaze and was even angrier. This woman was really audacious!
Marlena was stunned and did not know what his intense look meant. "Nothing."
"You are the expert in this topic."
He looked down to steal a peek at her. Her neck looked so pretty and thin from here. The sun seemed to give her face a pretty sunset glow, if that was the light... or something..
His gaze slid further down to the collar of her cotton pajamas.
His eyes snapped back as he became more confident in his decision.
