"Why aren't you home yet?"
Over the phone, Jiang Xiaobai's tone carried a hint of reproach.
"Is it already very late?"
Only then did Bai Hui'er turn to look out the window, realizing it had already grown dark, and upon glancing at the clock managed by the library, she realized how late it had become.
"It's almost ten o'clock, don't you realize it!" Jiang Xiaobai shouted, "It's very dangerous to come back so late!"
"I, I just got so absorbed in reading that I lost track of time," Bai Hui'er looked around the reading room of the library, which was nearly empty.
Jiang Xiaobai said, "It's so late that there are no buses anymore, I'll drive to pick you up. Just stay inside the library and wait for me obediently, I'll call you when I get there."
"Mmm-hmm," Bai Hui'er readily agreed.
